Same cart, 601 stands for the threads, new one does too with the "6" but specifies manufacturer also, correct me if I'm wrong, G.

I tried looking but i'll ask anyway.

Should i hold off on getting the Omicron V2? I saw there was a V2.5 Upgrade... but
Like, will there be a V3 soon?
:)

no v3 in site my friend, even if you do get a v2 you can always upgrade to a v3 if there is one.

Omicron Survival Tip:
My newest homemade tool at my Ecig/Omicron service area.
DSC00495.jpg

This cork has an extra fine sewing needle embedded "eye side" into cork, and you can use even thinner grade!
When I get one of those stubborn bubbles, beads or clogs up high, that I can see... that wont go down...
I torch the needle, and stick it into the open side of the cart top, and the "bead" in question drops fast!
The hot needle can also be used inside of the funnel, to "roundup".... and then to "steer" and finally "drive" that oil on home into it's slot!
:peace:
i finally got around to trying this out and OMG it works great!

cleaning out the flue, top and bottom, with the hot pin, made that "pop clog" go away for quite a while.

Should i buy the TV LV Dart and an adapter for use with my Ophos? i was waiting for nail cart.

i mostly use 1.5ohm carts but sometimes i want more at once (without needing my torch rig)

I have the Dart with my D9 setup. I used it alot at first, but not so much anymore. Its nice when you dont have much oil and just want to put .2 in it, but for out and about the D9 carts are still better. Nothing is as "point and click" as the D9 carts.

I now use my Dart for Bubble and ISO though

Hey g,

I came into the store earlier this week because I was having trouble with my cartridge and one of your guys was extremely helpful with reclaiming my old oil and putting it in a new cartridge. I also upgraded to the 2.5 head. Everythng has been working great but earlier today the unit didn't seem to get any of my cartridges hot. I thought I had burned out the cart but after trying my three other cartridges it looks like there is something wrong with my base (the piece that holds the battery with the button that cartridges screw in to). The blue light comes on and everything but none of the carts are heating up. Have you had any problems with this. Unfortunately, I'm leaving to go back to NYC on Monday early in the morning. I know you guys are closed tomorrow but I wanted to see if you had any advice. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks again for the help today I had a question I forgot to add. Is weighing a cartridge a good way to determine how much wax is left? I guess the question is: does burnt wax leave a residue that leaves weight in a cartridge or should a used empty cartridge weigh 7.6 just like a brand new empty one.

Thanks,
A

And do the 1.5 and 2.4 carts have different weights

Carts can vary a lot. Sometimes, even in the same box, you'll find one a quarter gram or more lighter or heavier than the rest. Without peeking at the records I'd say 7.8 grams is closer to what I've been seeing lately. But I've also seen them under 7.5 and over 8. Newer ones seem lighter, I'm thinking maybe the tube is thinner from some vendors? There also seems to be some variation in silica wick length, some of the ones I've opened barely make it through the seals to the preheat area, others fill most of that area up. I suspect there's a lot of variation in the hand assembly part? Knowing what it weighed empty is the only sure way.

And even that's a little bit of guesswork as there's always some material left inside. I figure maybe a little less than .2?

I think the best advice is to weigh it empty, put half a gram in at first (more seems to invite leaks and other problems) and run it until it starts to taper off, then put the other half in. I figure on about .3 grams of the first load (about 100 hits?), and .5 per top up after that. Treated this way several grams total seems the normal lifespan. I think it was G who first suggested this technique, since I started using it most of my remaining issues have not raised their ugly little heads.....

I've had my omicron v2 for a few months now but today the unit started flashing 3 times immediately after pressing the power button. I fully recharged the batteries, cleaned all contact points & threads multiple times but it's still flashing and not working. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

I am having the same issue. I am sad because I just got this in the mail today. What can I do to fix it? Its almost as if the button is always toggled. If someone is around, can you shoot me a few pointers? I'm dying to get this thing working!

This is the signal you get for a shorted load. As in defective cart or something stuck in the socket. Does it do it with no cart?

That's interesting, I would not have suspected that. I guess I just don't see how a switch failure could cause this. It works well enough to be 'recognized' when pressed, usually all one requires of such a device?

Still, if it does it with no load you're pretty much down to something in the head, meaning it time for a trip to the shop.......

Here are my final troubleshooting notes just in-case any other future users run into the same issue that I did. The device worked fine for a while, then it went to its perma-on state, which in turn I believe broke the switch even more to the point where it wont heat carts period. Once the OmicronV2 reached the perma-on state, I rendered it as unusable.

Troubleshooting Notes:

Full setup (Battery, OmicronV2, cartridge):
No lights or flashes until I press the button once. Once pressed, the light flashes 3 times then stops.

OmicronV2 & Battery only:
No lights or flashes until I press the button once. Once pressed, about a second later, it will flash 3 times slowly. After that happens, approximately 4 seconds later, the light will flash quickly 17 times, then what seems like a flicker, then it flashes 3 more times quickly. One could believe that it was 20 successive flashes. No heat comes from the cartridges anymore and the switch smells like an overly stressed circuit (plastic and batteries).

Switch Observation:
I have the bottom cap screwed into the underside of the OmicronV2, battery inserted into the Omicron with the + terminal facing up. When going to screw the switch onto the OmicronV2, the circuit is completed as soon as I hit the switch coil to the battery terminal. I can tell this because the light turns on as soon as the contact is made, before I screw the switch in or even hit the button. This leads me to conclude that the switch is broken in some sort of "permanently on" position. If my understanding of the device is right, no lights should not be flashing until I press the button. The OmicronV2 worked properly for the first 15 minutes, but after first battery swap, the "perma-on" symptoms started showing.

All in all, I am frustrated with how this has unfolded, but I am willing to chalk this up to just poor luck. The customer service squad has already contacted me about the replacement process and THC SCIENTIFIC was kind enough to respond to my frantic PMs last night. Either way, I feel safe and secure knowing that I am in the correct hands. Thanks for the support guys and I look forward to getting my replacement!

G,

since the subject of beta testing is alive and well this morning. When do we get to beta test the next (Final?) rev of the Omi V2 top? Its been a while since any info has been posted on this....

This might seem a little pointless, but what is with so many people mispronouncing the name "Omicron" and calling it an "Omnicron"? I see it all of the time and I'm a bit perplexed how anyone who has owned one for some time now can still get the name wrong all of the time. If we can't get the name right, how are we going to spread the word about this awesome innovation that G and his peeps have created?

Are you talking about the HVD or V2.5 head? I have 2.5 heads but not HVD.
