So you can forgot the expensive regulator I had in my other post, here are your options for powering your Pax on-the-go:

Car adapter
Spare Wall Adapter

Just make sure it's right-angled, the center is positive, and the size is close to 1.3mm ID, 3.5mm OD. Like Ploom said anything 9 to 18v will work!

If you want to charge your Pax away from any outlet or car at all you need to buy an extra adapter, cut the wire, and solder on a connector. Then you buy a spare battery: 2-3 Charges or 5-6 Charges, solder it to the other connector, and you can plug you Pax charger right into your battery pack. You need a charger for the spare battery pack and one more connector to make it easy to connect but it's under $100 now even with the big battery :brow:

I hated the TV1, never tried evo.
How is it in comparison to the mflb, the solo, or god forbid the iolite..?

tbh I don't know but it is restrictive...

but if you can learn to pull with your cheeks/mouth it will reward you with thick, full vapor

ya honestly, it is pretty hard to pull. I haven't quite mastered this certain way of hitting it with your cheeks/mouth. I am looking forward to getting some herbs so i can pack the living crap out of it

As time goes by you pick up little tips and tricks, the packing I've already told you guys, but also if you want it to hit thicker let it sit for 10s or so bewteen hits. Also start the draw very slow and then increase it and see if the vapor inceases, if it does keep drawing harder using your cheeks, sometimes I've been able to take surprisingly big hits and I keep it on medium

What about the warm spots some people are reporting? Gotta take that into account.

So bummed... I ordered an amethyst pax from Vapeworld on Saturday. Website claimed they were still available, charged my card. Got an email today saying that my order was confirmed but the pax is backordered. Just a heads up to anyone interested in purchasing one from that site. I was so excited. :(

Haven't tried it but if you have enough to form a cake that stays close to the heater I would expect amazing results!

Definitely leaves me hesitant, I was hoping for a smooth draw..

I'll let others chime in, but I would definitely call it smooth. It's a slow, full-bodied draw. Like using a joint or blunt, you only need a little bit of vapor and then you breathe in after

To anyone who finds the mouth piece is getting too hot, that usually means your drawing too quickly and getting too much hot air. Think about it this way, all the vapors are collecting in the oven and all you have to draw is that little amount of air into your mouth. Big draws will just get you big lungs fulls of hot air. Let the oven fill with vapors by drawing slowly and you won't be disappointed.

Rock the fuck on, Dammit! I'm on board, as that's the way to go with the Pax. How relaxing, too. :freak:

Ok, so after a day of usage, here's my review. It's replaced my Solo as my primary portable (I'm pretty sure) ... first day still though so time will tell.

It's WAY better once you figure it out. I find it not near as harsh as the Solo which is pretty cool and now that I've got it working well it is giving me nice clouds and vaping to completion with pretty even abv.

Thanks to JoeKickass and others for their tips as I got the feel for this vape and how I should use it.

Vaping process:
- Fill chamber with .15 to .4 and pack tight (I aim for .2-.25 which fills the chamber about half way up when tightly packed down)
- Repeat - pack tight. If it's not packed down well it doesn't give good cloud production and doesn't evenly vape (this is advice from other members). The point here though that I'd like to add is that it doesn't have to be a full chamber, as long as it's tightly packed ... I haven't tried with less than .15 though as that's my minimum bowl size anyways.
- Turn on and let start heating (I just leave mine at the highest setting, as I found it just an extra step to have to turn it up from mid to high)
- Once it's feeling good and warm (about 30 seconds), and you can start to smell it a little, start taking "sips" (you don't have to let it heat fully ... after 30 sec. it's probably already heated to the mid setting ... at least I start to get good hits)
- When hitting it, take nice easy hits like you're milking a joint that's going to burn to fast because the weed's to dry--this slows the airflow giving the air a chance to cool so you don't get a warm mouthpiece as well as it feels better on the throat/lungs. Also gives you higher vapour to air ratio resulting in thicker hits. I sort of hit it "like a pipe" (quote from SliM I believe) ... or a joint with pretty dry weed.
- Hold it in and exhale a nice Cloud (equivalent to the best from the Solo when both are used right)
- In between lungfulls (I have big lungs I guess ... take a .2g Cloud ELB in 1.5 hits), wait a good 10-15 seconds to let it heat some more ... doing so gives you nice Clouds to completion and results in more evenly toasted ABV.
- Once done, tap it out.
- To clean chamber between sessions simply wipe out with a paper towel as well as back of lid (this doesn't take the place of proper cleanings as you're air pathway still gets gummed up as any would so this still needs to be cleaned frequently as well as the mouthpiece, although that's quick and easy)

Hope that helps others with a concise set of usage instructions/tips!

It looks like this is going to have to be the new portable compliment to my Cloud!

I'm think im going to pull the trigger today on a blue one. Unless anyone knows if the black will be back in stock soon?

YUP YUP great review Jcat!! I LOVE my Pax. To those of you that have mouthpiece sticking issues one reason might be the fact that you guys charge the unit right after usage, while the unit is still hot. This is a NO NO! Reason being, the Pax charges with the mouthpiece on the charger upside down. This allows the resin to travel towards the mouthpiece and temp button while the unit is hot. Let the Pax cool for 10 mints or longer, then charge it. YOUR WELCOME!

I've been lurking this thread for about two weeks now and I am about to pull the trigger on the PAX but I do have a few questions for those of you who already have it. I am a light, but daily smoker. I have the silver surfer and usually go through 2 to 4 packs a night (probably about .25). I feel like the PAX would be absolutely perfect for me both at home and on the go but how well does the unit work if you turn it on, take a few hits, and then turn it back off to use later?

This would be crucial for me as is I vape to much a get pretty stupid.:mmmm: I Know that SM has said something about this before, but if someone else would chime in also I would appreciate it!
