this isn't the d9 thread, i don't see why you keep bringing up a product meant to be used for concentrates in a thread about a device that's used primarily with flowers?

you couldn't make it any more obvious that you're in some way affiliated with d9..

Just saying whats good and I of course supporting this unit until I bought it so no biggie I will move on ....NEXT

can we see a picture of the unit with your FC username written on a piece of paper, something with a background that can't be photoshopped :)

i honestly do not believe you even have a pax, after watching Slightly Medicated's videos its obvious the thing doesn't get that hot, he has it on for like 15 minutes straight in one of the videos, pretty sure if it was so hot it was mentionable he would have said something. so please, prove you have a pax before making all these claims about how bad it is.

little bit offended reading what you've written as i just spent $250 on the device, however i'll know for sure tomorrow since i got FREE overnight shipping (never got that from d9). i'll post my opinion about it tomorrow.

Um no sir you are wrong the thing is always running when the mouth piece is clicked out and the bottom lid was hot to the touch after only taking 2 hits on the med setting ..... so tell me how because it is not the users fault I know how a vaporizer works and I know this whole thing gets really hot so yeah Im done and you should check out some new tech LIKE THE omicron the only thing that gets hot are their carts and the drip tip mouth pieces dont even get hot just saying PERSEI,OMICRON

There is a cool-down/standby mode that goes in to effect when the unit is placed on a flat surface. The motion detector will sense when the unit has not moved for about 20-30 seconds. This lowers the temperature and keeps the ambient temperature of the unit down during the session. You can tell it is in cool-down/standby mode because the led goes blue. If you keep the unit moving during the entire session the ambient temperature will be much hotter then if you put the device down and let it go in to cool-down/standby in between hits.

brian- i fully agree. i have my unit and can confirm what he is saying is totally inaccurate (at least for mine). either his pax is broken and overheating or maybe he has baby hands? 2 hits on high doesn't make ANY part of the pax offensively hot. you can press the bottom of the device onto your skin.

Damn, all the reviews rolling in... so far really really good apparently. I'm rockin the PAMFLB right now, and I actually do have the $250 for it... but I shall wait. Really really digging the standby sensor thing, that's way cool. Have fun guys :)

What is the smell like? Would I get caught in my dorm room if I blew out the window because of the smell?

It smells like herb when it's warming up and vapor will smell. A window fan exhausting outside works wonders.

I stood on the sidewalk outside of a theatre (Musical not Movie) during intermission. I medicated using the PAX around all of the cigarette smokers. None of them noticed or even took a second look at what I was doing. I think the cigarette smell was way more powerful then the vapor smell. People would walk past about a foot away from me and not even notice. That is not to say that the unit is smell free... it just means that it produces less smell then cigarette smoke.

Funny, but I find my ocd routines kick into a higher gear when I am mid-level buzzed. I'm a door locker, and I check them a lot more when under the influence.

That's funny, stickstones. I'm very much a door locker, especially when vaped.

This time tomorrow I'll be digging on my Pax.

Still this unit gets very hot on the lips hand everything pretty much and the fact the "oven" lid gets so hot it will burn you >>>>>> really for 250 bucks I would rather stay with the OMICRON line they are always improving their tech above and beyond and the customer service is awesome but really just want everyone knowing my final thought on the product and it just seems like another "HYPED" Product that everyone has been sucked into to buying and liking.... it happens even with me but anyways Im done happy vape-ing

Mine did not get so hot that I could burn my hand. Maybe you have your on the High setting? Just a thought. I have used mine 6 times now, 4 of which were Monday when I got the Pax and mine never got soo hot that I could burn myself. The mouthpiece can get hotbut again, not really hot enough to where I can not use it. Again this is my experience with it, I wonder if you didn't get a bad Pax or maybe your Heat Setting is on High.

Not users fault.. User controllable.. You can turn it off??? I turn my Puffit off between hits.. (BTW the Puffit gets hot too)

Just hate to see you give up so fast and my point was that I think any small portable will get hot..

I love my Pax and definitely feel it was well worth the $250 I paid for it. I had never vaped before getting it and am loving vaping as well. The Pax is easy to use, especially once you get used to it, which took about a day ( 4 uses). So if you are worried about wasting your money I would don't be worried, you won't regret it.

Well after three sessions my first impressions are that this is an excellent portable. The build quality is superb like others have mentioned. The mouthpiece mechanism does seem like it may get worn over time with the clicking action though. The Pax body and mouthpiece does indeed get warm but not uncomfortably so even after hitting it multiple times on the high setting. I've opened the oven lid after a hot session to stir and didn't burn myself at all. It does indeed need a good stir or to get maximum extraction but all of the vapes I've owned needed this as well. The battery life seems to be pretty good as I still have about a medium charge after three sessions (two on medium, and one entire session on high). Medium seems to be my favorite spot but I also do like the higher end of the temperature spectrum at times.

At first I wasn't very satisfied with vapor production but I was trying to hit it wrong. The slow cigar like toke that SliM mentioned is the proper way to hit the device. I was extremely vaked yesterday after running a .2 of GDP through it (alot of this due to non existent tolerance) and was very satisfied after overcoming a small learning curve.

The only other portable I can compare it to is the No2 and this beats it hands down in both form and function. The taste (first few are delicious) is also much better than the No2 as I couldn't really taste anything but herb on my draws. The No2 always had a disgusting plasticky ass taste that I couldn't live with.

I would recommend this vape to anyone looking for a quality and discreet portable with a good battery life.

Okay so I've had my Pax now for a couple days. I admit my hopes weren't really high as I expected it to be too "gadgety". I am surprised at how much nicer it is than I expected. I'm glad I ordered one now.

The packaging is really well done and yes, reminiscent of higher end electronic packaging and hey...those folks expect you to go buy your own case for your phone, mp3 player, camera etc. so while I too was disappointed at the lack of case - not a big deal. I will find one myself easily off shelf.

There wasn't an awful smell when I first turned it on but I let it do a little cooking empty just in case. Charged it up and was ready to roll. Used my very fine ground stuff that I'd use in LB (coffee grinder fine). Loaded the oven and let it heat on medium. Very quick getting to temp and the first hit was lovely. The 2nd one - I actually coughed lol. A long slow draw or cigar puffs as suggested both seem to work.

So... to me the device works pretty darn well. It feels well made and though the design worried me in pix - after using... I'm kinda liking the design. The mouthpiece is very comfortable. My unit does not get too hot to hold though I admit most times I turn off after a few hits. It is very stealth. No smells other than cloudy exhales and the unit itself feels very solid, well made :D

I do wish it was easier to clear/cool the chamber after turning off. Once you click the mouthpiece down you can still draw air through to cool but more difficult than while mouthpiece is up. I've done this several times just to see if like an LB you can start a bowl, finish later kind of thing and it does work. The herb doesn't seem to cook like in an IO which is a bonus. I draw a few times after turning off and then flip and open over door for a minute to exchange fresh air too. So far, this method has worked well.

I think they should come with a little solder flux type brush like the LB's. I've found the little brush very useful in brushing crumbs off the lid or edges of oven. It would be a good addition IMHO. The screen or lack thereof is pretty neat. The metal plate easily comes out and after a couple days of use the whole oven area still clean as a whistle with just brushing.

In order to truly replace my other portables I'd need a few of these things since battys aren't changeable and I can't 'refuel' on the go lol but seriously glad I grabbed one of these. Once I see how they go over the long haul, see if they hold up - if so, I'll probably end up w/ a couple for on the go :D

Happy Vaping :) Light on my Pax, just went green - gotta dash!!

+1! Awesome videos and you seem like a pretty cool dude. Thanks for everything you do for this community.

My Pax came today! I have it in my truck with me at work, but I can't open it until I get home later. Gonna be a long day!

Why smoke and die, when you can vape and fly?
So now you guys cant ship to NZ? Any idea when you will be able to? If the chargers the only issue then surley that will be a easy fix? Whats changed in the last 24 hours that now you cant ship out of canada?

A few hours ago Planet Vape sent me this message:

"We have some disappointing news regarding the PAX. You are correct, currently the chargers supplied with the PAX only accept 110 -120 volts and this is why PAX sales will be limited to Canada and the USA only.

"We have had to change our website to reflect that we can sell only within Canada. We love that you chose PlanetVape for your PAX order and would really like to sell you the PAX, but at this time we are only allowed to sell in Canada.

"Good news is that PAX will soon have a charger capable of higher voltages, not sure if it will work in Australia though.

"We hate to ever say this to a customer, but it looks like we will have to cancel your order and refund your money, please let us know if this is okay with you."

PV always replied to my emails promptly. As far as I'm concerned, they did their best, and if I lived in Canada, I'd buy a PAX from them.

My message to lucky PAX owners: Spare a thought please, for us underprivileged Aussies and Kiwis down-under.
