Post What Vaporizer(s) You Currently Use And Why.

Hey guys (ladies too),

I'm new to FC. The MFLB was my first vape (when I made decision to stop combusting this pass NYE). I love this little thing. Once you learn how to use it, it's pretty magical. Now I'm no expert (when it comes to vaporizers) but I <3 the fact that it's so versatile - i.e. small/portable, efficient (produces small tasty hits), quick, effective (get's the job done), controllability factor, options/accessories (PA, WPA, whip, variety of stems...)

I use my LSV with glass for parties and small gatherings. It's much easier to use (when you're introducing combusters to the wonderful world of vaporizing). The LSV is perfect for re-vaping your ABV (when you're out of fresh flowers). ABV doesn't taste too bad when it's paired with some glass and a little water filtration.

I would love to try a log vape one of these days. The wood choices are beautiful and (according to lwien) the PD is quite efficient. Too bad they're no longer available. I've checked out the the Aromazap, Underdog, and Toasty-top websites. So many different styles and choices. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My LSV has been my daily driver until a week or so ago when I got my WychWood Log (with VVPS). They are now sharing a 50/50 role as my go-to Vapes.
They both give me very similar performance, and the LSV specifically is designed with bong use in mind :)

They both let me thoroughly vape a load to my satisfaction, have great airflow for Glass use (so I can really get those percs firing :science:).

The LSV will get me there quicker, but the WW has a smaller load size, so its a bit better for conservation.

I use both of them with herb, and sometimes topping the load off with a nice bit of keif. They both handle this easily.

They can both milk up a tube really well. The LSV has that little bit more Oomph, and I would say requires that little bit less technique to get great hits.

You can overwhelm the WW if you suck like you're trying to get a golfball through a garden hose, while the LSV seems to be able to handle that scenario a bit better...

I tend to use all my vaporizers (check my sig), except for the Genie which is my when-all-else-fails vaporizer because it only needs a bic lighter.

In the past 3 weeks, since i received my DaVinci, my LB has been on the shelf too.
Before the LB was my portable choice and because of convenience, my quick-session home vaporizer.

And my gn0me has cracked 2 weeks ago so i used it twice since and only to try my new Ehle 250ml.

The DBV as a proper big hitter is for the weekend sessions with/without bong.

So, in short, DaVinci for outside vaping and quick home vaping and DBV for dedicated weekend sessions.

my solo and thermovape get the most use, then my omicron. Try to use all three on glass w/ water when i can, and I usually use my da vinci when i'm out along with my omicron. I used to use a da budda but packed her away when I picked up the solo. This morning I've used my solo with ed's wooden stem, then onto a few omicron draws, to the thermovape with a 6 v dart/pure flow at the current moment.

SSV and I love it. It doesn't matter if I forget to turn it off all day, it wont quit on me or malfunction. It's always ready and I usually hit it 4 to 5 times an hour so performance is a must.

Underdog at home. Always ready. Always heated to 12v on my variable adapter that I can raise for some night time high temp hits if I feel like it. 12v is often enough.

In the car I have an underdog twig with prototype core. Heats up off my car adapter in about 2-3 minute on the high end. By then it is quite hot and can clear a full packed large stem in 2-3 quick hits. Then the ABV is not even worth saving. Gets the job done and fits in the palm of my hand perfectly. Into the glovebox it goes right after use. A quick get the job done and done WELL vape. Perfect for its use as a car vape.

For portable where I have no power source even with adapters I have the Thermovape T1. I also have the evolution adapter so I can switch between the two. The evo is still new to me, but I love both and both work amazing. Possibly the cleanest tasting vaporizer I have ever used. The gnome matched the flavor, but was a real hassle for me to use compared to the thermovapes. Indestructible for the most part.

All of my vapes happen to be American made. That is not a requirement with me, but what is a requirement is PURE CLEAN HEALTHY vapor without any bullshit of any kind. That means no mysterious materials or strange smells/flavors or lack of information. If you are not willing to share the design of your vaporizer, IMO, it is because it is shit and you know it. I also will NOT tolerate a company with any shady corporate practices either, no matter what kind of fantastic product you may or may not make, it isn't worth it.

Those are just some personal guidelines I live by now. I've got quite the laundry list of vapes used, and thats my current code to keep myself from wasting any money on a product I don't enjoy in the end.

It is only fair to say I don't own the other log vapes, but the 2 underdogs I have and the 2 my friend bought after using mine are amazing. I was obsessed with getting the cloud, but currently I have no need. The underdog was amazing right away, but recently I paired it with a nice glass bubbler with heavy diffusion and it is like taking a big breath of air and by the time you exhale you wonder if you even got a hit. You look in the stem and see some nice even colored ABV all the way through, no patchy spots or anything. Then a minute or 2 later it hits you like a freight train. Or you can hit it directly with the silicone stem or the glass stem and still get nice smooth hits. I am a new found bubbler lover, but even before then I LOVED my underdogs. Check out the UD thread for yourself. A very happy place to be.

the Underdog and the Lotus water adapter, with glass bubbler. ex-dbv user (but in defense, the dbv is a solid vape in it's own right), now i rely on my UD 80% of the time. easy to use & handle, great vapor production. When my ud is not on 24/7, i use the lotus water adapter which is a wonderful hard hitting 2 hitter torch-lighter vape (shades of old-school pipe smokin' with this lotus). trouble is now i am spoiled and will not take non-water filtered vapor anymore. and there's always the pesky glass acquisition syndrome!

I can't wait to join you. It is obviously a superior extractor imo . . . :)

I wish I could try one to see if it really does anything above and beyond or if it is just cool and well made. I mean I'd find it damn near impossible to believe that anything extracted "better" than my HA when I owned it. It certainly wasn't the best vape, but really as far as extraction went the ABV was totally useless IMO. A top extractor for sure.

The HA is an awesome extractor, and I would not be replacing it if I really didn't think the design of the Cloud wasn't that much better. I guess I'll have to try the two and let you know darkrom :) but I am expecting the Cloud to provide denser, more flavorful vapor.

I started this thread and never thought it would catch on this much. Really good information here and for any newbie wondering what to buy.

As I am pretty much a portable kind of guy that's all I have. In my first post I gave what I used and why but had no photos. IMO photos are definitely worth a thousand words. Here's a shot of all the gear I currently use. Once I put it all together I had to think I got carried away somewhere.

i've been using this version of the Bud Toaster for more than a year -- for reliability testing.

Why use it? all glass vapor path, computer temperature control to 1°F, temperature display. Plus small size and battery powered, so it doesn't need AC outlet.

hehe just tell me when I can buy one already! :p

Me too!! (You should post some usage videos too ... please and thanks!)

out of the house, it the O-Phos 1.5ohm. in the past i used the VG, IO, & MFLB. but in my opinion, concentrates are better for transport than herb.

at home, Volcano classic (with my custom bladder whip), or my mini nail dome rig.

... Boom Shiva !
VG: First vape now collecting dust

MFLB: Outdoor, Portable, Stealth use

DBV: Group session leader as you can pass around the whip, easy to use

VHW: taste, quality, most precise temperature control, purest high

TV Revolution: Just ordered after my recent projects of extracting hash oil from hand rubbed indian and nepalese hash.

I know its bad form to quote yourself but this prophecy came true. The Cloud is amazing :)

bump.. for the newbies this is a great thread, since it's hard to narrow down the couple of hundred vapes covered in the Vape Discussion forum. as a first-timer looking for portability I'm deciding between MFLB, davinci and arizer solo (which a friend swears by)
