Thank you sir!! I got one!

I read that 20-25 hits per charge can be achieved with the ultralite + dart. How does this compare to using a standard 6v rig with the SV Dart (like in the Rev kit)?

Probably 5 or more times the hits? Bigger battery, big difference.

Any chance they(TV) will make a derlin sleeve for this? I am interested but being a chain hitter I know this would be hot for my hands and pocket.

Have you tried it? I don't find it all that hot and the battery life prevents you from going too nuts with it. Sure they (or anyone else I guess) could put a sleeve over it, but it'll make the already over stressed battery all the hotter and more suicidal. It also takes away from it's primary feature, small size.

But yes, TV is on record as willing to make custom parts on request. Give 'em an email? Just because I don't think it's practical doesn't make it so. But if you're really a 'chain hitter' remember that bitty battery is good for maybe 4 or 5 minutes of heat total. You need more power, I think?

Good luck.

Package out for delivery! I'm guessing I'm going to have to do a torturous initial charge on the batteries?

For an ultralight? Maybe if you consider less than an hour of charging torturous... :D

Will be charged in no time!

That's a beautiful thing. Is that every time, or just for the first time because they ship with a half-charge?

More to do with how small it is, this is the battery (AAA-size I think):

Only 350ma-Hours, if you set your charger to 300ma then even if it was stone dead it would only take:

350ma*h / 300ma = 1.17 hours or about 70 minutes

Thank you! Do you recommend always charging at 300? For longevity's sake?

Yes, but 600 is probably not going to take too much life off it. Not a time or two. We're beating that poor guy something awful anyway, but heat is bad for 'em all. I charge mine at 300, but it's easy to put the dead one in the charger when I put a fresh one in. And I have 3 which also helps.

I'd go ahead and charge one and use the other as it comes. Deep discharge isn't all that hard on IMRs, if it's giving you good heat I'd go with it for a while, then trade them even if the other isn't done charging yet. I'm impatient too, I feel for wanting to play with but not hurt your new toy.

In use, remember to question (at least) the battery level before adding more concentrate. Both low battery and low oil levels lead to the same symptoms, but once you flood it out it gets slow and hard to deal with until you vape it back down to running lean.

"Load small and often".

Best wishes,

Well I've run through three batteries playing around with my new Ultralite, and I think it's just delightful. I find I have to reposition balls of wax occasionally before the end of a session, but I am also still learning the technique. I'm thinking the non-stick tool may be good for this. Also finding I need 15-20 seconds warm up time to get a fresh ball of wax going. I can get a decent cloud or two and then two more wispy but worthwhile hits off a nice small BB. Overall I am very happy with my first TV!

So I've found the perfect case for these little guys. I am also a fan of fountain pens, and my Pelikan 2-pen case fits the Ultralite and 2-3 extra batteries like a charm! I'll post a pic this weekend.

I warn all customers, don't post any issues you may have with TV's products, Tim will PURSUE you to make it right! :)
Happy customer here!
(I'm posting this across the TV threads, hope that's cool.)

I'm lookin for something like this for oil on the go and discreet. Because I have my solo for good portablility but it's not discreet for those situations where I need to bust out my one hitter. I'd like to stop having to combust when at the bar and stuff and I'm wondering if and alpha ultralight with a low voltage dart cart would be the best for me? Do you just dab your oil on the point and screw it together?

It's even easier than that! It is friction fit with a little O-ring. Just press it in and it's good to go.

So like a nice big gobber will get vaped up nice and quick and use like half a battery? Because I can vape like 2 small dabs and be nicely medicated with my other vapes.

I'd recommend two small dabs (in succession) and count on using up that battery. I think I take longer pulls than average though, say 15-20 second warm up and 20-30 second pull. I'm still refining this process however, so take it with a grain of salt. There is definitely more than one technique that will work on these carts.

Hmm cool. So if I had 4 batteries I would essentially get 4 good mini sessions that should (hopefully) get me medicated each time?

Yes, I think that's a realistic goal. I figure two loads per battery (I load about .05 grams at a time) but usually get 3 if I'm paying attention.

IMO a good trade off in some conditions.

Just remember to check on the battery before adding more. Overload it and it'll slow down and eat up the battery.

so using the dart for homemade bho is the trade off for the ultralite as opposed to the ultra just a matter of size and battery life? i.e. the ultra is a touch bigger but gets X% longer overall battery life per charge whereas the ultraLite is "sleeker" but has X% less battery life per charge over the ultra?

I'd say 'yeah, more or less'. If you know how to use it wisely, there's enough in those little batteries for over a dozen good hits. But you can easily kill them trying awkwardly for a few.

The much more forgiving 14500s, OTOH, are IMO a much better first unit to learn on. It's really not all that much bigger, a little bit longer and still pretty skinny. It's the difference between AA and AAA size batteries. It will also do a fair job on Evolution, something the UltraLite hasn't a prayer of.
