Parents That Vape

Hey All,
I was hoping to start a discussion on how others with kids vape. Do you strictly vape outside the home? Do you have a special place in the house (or garage) where you medicate? In our case we both vape at home (after our baby is in bed) in a downstairs room furnished for such activities :brow:. We have a part time nanny in our home during the day so I usually go outside to the garage or take a drive at those times :ninja: (typically with my Thermovape Revolution or Arizer Solo, both portables) I know a lot of us on here have kids and I would love to have a great discussion with others in the community. It is also my hope that I might get to know some of you better in the process!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to your replies! :peace:

Interesting. I wouldn't smoke a joint or a bowl anymore (unless there we NO other means available) I do know that some people still do both because they like the sensation of smoking over vaping, but honestly I think I enjoy vapor more than I ever enjoyed smoking!!
Thanks for your response Zymos! :peace:

I vaporize right in front of our daughter, but I have an advantage others may not have. Since I also use a nebulizer to receive some of my medications, I can pass my MFLB off as just another one of my medicine delivery systems (I have 3 different hand held inhalers as well). Currently, my daughter believes my MFLB is one of my inhalers, and she knows I am just taking my medicine, like I do with the other machines (nebulizer and inhalers). When she is old enough, I will be telling her the truth. :)

I've got several spots setup for different situations...bedroom, laundry room and outside. A true stoner has several rigs ready to go at any time!

I don't do it in front of the kids yet...still waiting for them to ask about it when they find out.

Same here. I have a table in my bedroom, laundry room, and when the kids are sleeping one in the living room. I just unplug my vap, grab a wand, grinder, and tray and go looking for an outlet.

I would love to have a permanent station, but having a new born makes it hard to stay in the basement for too long, and anywhere else my 5 YO would find it.

I don't ever vaporize inside my house, but my garage is like a vaporizer amusement park. My kids almost never enter the garage, but I did show my oldest son (16) how the PD works once when he asked what it was.

My two boys, young men, are finishing college; one smokes occasionally and one doesn't
imbibe at all, but they both enjoy alcohol.

When they were younger, I basically hid out in the garage and did not say anything until they finished H.S. :ninja:

My youngest ( the nose ) said he recognized the ( combuston ) smell on me way back in J.H.S.

I wanted them to make up their own minds on drugs, alcohol and sex. I gave them great info.

OF course they had a great role model...... Mom.

My son will be one year old this August. It is my hope that at least by the time he is 10 or 12 we will have ended prohibition and I can at least say that when dad does it with friends, it is just like drinking a fine wine, and at least I will not be doing anything harmful to my body because I am not actually smoking. I want to be honest with him, but not being in an MMJ state it will have a little more of a stigma attached to it if it is still an illegal drug. This concerns me a little. Once he is old enough to make his own mind up about things that are for adults I will be happier. We are not big drinkers either, while we we will drink occasionally, it is really more of a social thing to promote relaxation (Drinking makes me sleepy more and more these days) I prefer the bud! (it makes me wiser)

Last week I had my vaporizer and water pipe out on my desk and the little guy came into the room... walked around, smelled a bit, and realized that the silly smell was coming from that little wooden box and the glass. He just looked at it, and then looked at me, and would slowly alternate between both. He eventually just sat down right next to me and stared... I felt so heartbroken when I had to take him out of the house. He's not even a year yet... silly puppy :ko:

i have 2 boys, ages 6 and 4. i only vape when they're in bed sleeping, and only in the guest room. i use a log vape and have never tried to hide it, i only had to show them once that the log is "hot" and since then they don't bother to go near it.

I have a 2½ year old boy and a 5 weeks old girl. during the day if i am home i use the shed but at night once the babies are sleeping i vape in the front room as the chimney takes the smell right out of there.

My 7 1/2 year old is fully aware that I "medicate" and that I have a prescription for mummies medicine. I used to smoke joints and bowls outside but since I bought a volcano and it's not easily transported outside, I just leave it in my room and shut my door and vape with my window open. He knows not to come in my room when my door is shut and he knows not to mess with anything "medicine." I'm weird about hiding things from him and and to be 100% honest with him so if he has any questions I can answer. And since I've been more open about it, he has lost complete interest and way less curious.

Wife and I vape in our master bathroom, but our teenage daughter knows. We simply don't vape in front of her, though we honestly answer any questions she has.

We hid it for a while, but honesty is the better policy for us here. She's ok with it, and as of now hasn't tried weed (that I'm aware of). :)

I would say our biggest concern is the smell (for other peeps visiting, and the nanny of course) We would NOT vape in front of our son to avoid giving him a contact high, but not sure how it will be as he gets older and stays up later. Wondering how others feel about the contact high issue? Our set up is a fully separate room in our basement, but my wife still has some concerns about exposing him to it. I on the other hand grew up around smokers (as well as lotsa peeps using herb) and I do not feel that my development suffered much) but I wonder how others view this part as well. Cannabis seems to have tons of benefits to a human body (once you are old enough to decide for your self to use it...)

I don't really think contact high is a very big worry... You'd have to be hotboxing a car to give someone a contact high... or maybe my tolerance is just... high

Honestly though I don't think residual exposure to a little bit of vapor is going to negatively affect growth, especially if you have a fan on and window opened.

Semi-on topic relating to the family thing, I know my sister knows I use cannabis, but I think she thinks I smoke (I'm not fairly close to her, to be honest. It seems to be at least somewhat mutual.) Sometimes I'll have my packed LB in my armrest... and occasionally you'll get a good whiff of sticky icky. One day I think she made a passing comment about me not forgetting to hide my weed, but when I asked her to repeat herself she got kinda flustered and embarrassed, and walked away... She's a bit young I think to be getting into this stuff (15), maybe when she's 17 or 18 if she asks me I'll let her try. I'd much much rather have her hitting my beaker in my room and then us going out to get some munchies instead of her going out at night smoking out of a water bottle bong with a pen tube for a downstem and schwaggy shit, then getting rolled on by the coppers. Same for my little brother who is a few years younger than her.
