Hey guys...sorry dont really post much but I saw a thread for this neat vape the other day, but it got locked because there was no manufacturers website. After a little research I found that this vape is made by a company called discreet vape. Looks exactly like an inhaler. Many people thought the silver part at the top was a battery like the mflb but i believe it is the herb chamber, whch has a gold plated heating element. It is adjustable temperature and rechargeable internal battery. Looks to be released in the summer. They have a website but i think ot was just created as there is no info except for a picture with descriptions and sign up. The website is www.discreetvape.com. It is also on gotvape.com now as well.

Mynameismud,
This is promising! I thought this was another battery mod vape like the SV and MFLB but its not. Its usb rechargable. Good Find!

How much? A gold herb chamber must be pricey unless the gold is actually its twin brother, brass. Looking forward to more info!

DubCRider,
Its normally $229 but its listed as $169 on GOTVAPE. I did some investigating.....

EDIT: ALIBABA

This looks interesting and I hope the thread remains open. There's more information for this than some other models granted a thread.

I notice in the gotvape instruction that it heats up to temp for 30 seconds (must depend on setting), upon which the LED stops flashing. You then draw for 10-14 seconds, and it returns to standby after 15 seconds. I'm not sure what I think about that  . I can see myself missing that 14 second window an awful lot. Unless I've misunderstood? The main blurb talks about a 90 second shut off?

It's gold plated brass, apparently.

Edit: Alibaba or any kind of Asian connection does not put me off at all. Zephyr Ion was a good model. The design is a great concept for stealth. I applaud it for that, whichever race produced it.

I think gold plating is a realistic idea, after all Vapman does this already, right? It can be well done and useful, it's also cheap 'bling' sometimes. As I recall such plates are in the few microinches in thickness. There's not enough gold in a carload of the devices to buy you lunch, let alone a couple choice grams most likely.

I also didn't see any race in this until it just got introduced. I take it to be 'oh, another attempt by a group with a bad history in the area', am I missing it completely? I honestly don't have an opinion on Aiibaba, whoever he or she is......

This looks sweet, I would love to give this a first test! For $170 I would order one just to try it, I think my asthma is acting up.

Is it just me, or does their logo look familiar?
Logo AND the name!!! Funny. Well spotted stu.

Let's hope the product has more innovation.

I don't see issue with gold plating either. (unless it flakes to reveal leaded brass, perhaps).

Ali Baba is a massive marketplace for Asian wholesalers. It's true that there's lot's of rubbish on there, but it's not a rule. The comment I referred to was edited, although there was nothing wrong with it- just about where the owner lived. I just wanted to attempt to dispel the pervasive perception that the Chinese incapable of producing a vape worth looking at. It's true they don't often seem to bother, but the Zephyr stands out though (and perhaps the DaVinci too?). Maybe this will also. It looks to have some potential IMO if design concept counts for anything. Although it's funny IMO that it's key USP is the IMITATION of something else (asthma puffer)

WatTyler,
I Trust Max. I wont take my chances with alibaba.

This brand just seems to rip off 'real' name brands, and offers low price and low quality, with little to no warranty. As things stand I don't see us allowing a thread for Alibaba/Shenzhen products. Whatever they sell, there's a better version available (the original), with a real warranty.

max said:
Where's the website for Skyda? made-in-china.com and alibaba.com don't count.

it certainly should have its own thread.

You think so? What about the hundred or so other cheap vapes with all kinds of names slapped on 'em, and no manufacturer or warranty to be found? Sorry, none of 'em qualify. With all the good models to choose from these days, these vapes don't deserve consideration or discussion. When a company hides from the public and offers no warranty, it doesn't deserve any publicity.

This only thread this vape belongs in is one called 'vapes to avoid'.

This rip off garbage has already been discussed-on this same page. And Alibaba is a wholesale site, so unless you're prepared to buy a bunch of these and sell them.....

I trust no one.

Ali baba is just a market place. Thousands of goods are traded through it before they get sold over here, there or everywhere. You just have to know what you're buying. You really shouldn't let it (the fact it's some how, maybe distantly, connected to Ali Baba) colour your opinion of a product IMHO.

Well youre right. Maybe im quick to come to a conclusion but i wont take my chances. A quick search of alibaba reviews came up with some really interesting results.

IS ALIBABA A LEGIT COMPANY?

Yes, stricto sensu. Indeed, Alibaba.com is a public company traded in Hong-Kongstock exchange—couldn't be more legit.

IS IT TRUSTWORTHY?

Well, yes, would I say in regards to the company per se—but it's another story when it comes to qualify the business one may be engaged in thru this website.

Alibaba is a legitimate sourcing platform aiming at facilitating relationships between buyers and sellers mainly from Asia, exactly like any legit auction site.

Manufacturers can create their company profile and list up to 50 products and buyers can submit their request for proposals (RFP) or request for quote (RFQ) or merely shop for itens they want to procure.

So you understand that the platform is not liable for either side, each party being hence responsible for proper representation and fair business practices.

Should you decide to go ahead and make a deal on Alibaba, I would not strongly enough recommend to undertake all necessary due diligence towards the other party.

The preceding notwithstanding, there are lots of denunciations of scams occuring in such a platform as you may see by yourself on the website http://alibabascam.com/that is dedicated to such reports from this particular platform.

So Unless you know exactly what you're doing, I would strongly discourage you to move forward because pretty much no recourse action is available when the other party is located in far East Asia.

This Vape looks like a winner to me. I had a chance to see it last week at a Tradeshow in LA, my biggest concern was being able to draw from it multiple times. Basically, you just press it down again after the 15 second draw period to reactivate the heat!

I think it is going to be like the Arizer Solo or Iolite where you want to let it heat up for a minute instead of 30 seconds to get a nice amount of Vapor.

I do like that it comes with an internal stir tool, and the gold plated brass heating element is certainly an upgrade to the No2 which has a standard brass heating element.

I'm waiting for the pre-order to become available, so far only GotVape has it up for $169.99

Hi Guys. CEO of Lilly Rucky Ltd. here I'm glad there is some interest in our new Product the PUFFiTTM part of the new and exciting Discreet Vape brand.

Yeesh...
the thing is leaking out before we're ready on the website side (sorry I'll get my web guy on it!)
I guess that's the risk you take with a Brand new innovative product like this. Hope to have something up and running shortly.

I'm happy to answer any questions about our new product, in the mean time you can like us on Facebook and Twitter!
http://www.facebook.com/Discreetvape
https://twitter.com/#!/LillyRucky

A bit of an FAQ for those of you that just HAVE to Know.

Where can I get one?
Right now The PUFFiTTM is available exclusively through the fine folks at Got Vape. All retail and wholesale inquiries should go through them (http://www.gotvape.com/vaporizer/portable-vaporizers/puffit-portable-vaporizer.html)

WHEN can I get one?
We're shipping our fist batch to Got Vape In the next 10 days or so they'll make them available to the public as demand allows.

Gold heat chamber Really???
Yup. Our Patented design uses a 99.7% pure gold plated non leaded brass heating chamber. WHY?? Simple, it makes for a clean and efficient heating chamber and it only ads a small mount to the overall cost. The rest of the vapor path is food grade Silicone and Nickle Stainless Steel so No plastic'y Taste!

Is this thing easy to use?
We think so. We have made an effort make a product that is discreet, effective And simple. It recharges Anywhere via USB, It heats in less than 30 seconds, it has a simple temperature setting dial. and you don't have to unscrew anything to make it work. For More on how it works you can D/L the user manual Here (http://www.discreetvape.com/files/PUFFiT_instructions_web.pdf)

You're in Hong Kong does this mean it's cheap Chinese crap?
I hope Not! Yes we're based in HK (the company is actually headed by a couple of Canadians who just happen to live there) and yes we are manufacturing in China, But China doesn't automatically mean it's crap! The iPad is made in China! And one of us is personally up at the factory every other day or so to make sure production remains consistently High quality. (you can see why living in Hong Kong has it's advantages eh?)

Is this just a MFLB knock off?
NO definitely not. Our Patented design utilizes a High power internal lithium Ion battery and redundant Digital temperature control making it much more accurate and advanced than the MFLB.

What temperature does it get to?
The PUFFiTTM is designed to be temperature adjustable with settings from 1-8 representing a temperature range from 250F-450F or 120C-220C. Once set the PUFFiTTM will maintain the temperature within about 5 degrees. So your blend is never scorched or left cold.

It says it stays at temp for 15 seconds is that all I get?
The PUFFiTTM works a bit different than may vaporizers you may be used to. We tried to make it simple to use on the go for a single hit or a couple quick top ups rather than designing a "hard core sit down and puff for hours" kind of vaporizer.
So the way it works is Up to Temp really Quicky-->> 15 seconds of Full Fresh Vapor -->> Back to standby mode waiting for you! All you have to do to get the next hit is click the top cap again (this time it'll reach temp much faster because it's already warm ~5 sec)
This cycle allows for quick discreet use while on the go and maximizes the battery life.

How Long does the battery last?
It totally depends on your blend and your temp setting but it should last for about 30 cycles as I've described it above. But the USB recharge makes it easy to recharge anywhere while on the go either from a laptop or a car charger or a wall adapter. So you're never left short.
TIP! if you're not using it...Plug it in! the battery will last longest and provide the best heating if you always keep it topped up!

Anyway I hope this helps with some of you concerns.

Cheers
Lilly Rucky Ltd.
