Great TV !!!

I can't complain about the quality.
Most shows are either DVD rips, or HDTV encoded to SD.
Its perfectly watchable on a 46' TV IME.

And there are plenty of HD Blu-Ray rips of TV shows popping up now...

I get region locked like a mofo if I try to get any of the awesome freely available online TV that you guys in the US can access...

I have the same, last year or so I spend weeks searching for a place to watch alf... every site I found redirected to hulu or so, wich excludes anyone from outside the US.
quality from torrents is usually good, better as any streamingsite.

wih commercials I always just mute the sound of the tv and get my laptop

If you find good enough torrents (which there almost always will be) you can download shows/movies in full HD.

Just started watching Parks & Recreation - wasn't a fan at first but midway through the second season now and just realising that I'm kinda beginning to love it!

Parks and Rec really grew on me when I caught it on Netflix. "Party Down" is worth checking out if you like P&R. Adam Scott is great in that too.

<<<<------ "Arrested Development" is a must (IMO) if anybody missed it.

GoT line I most want to hear: "Hello. My name is Arya Stark. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

There's a new season of Arrested Development being made exclusively for Netflix. Great series. Own them all on DVD.

You know it's gonna happen.

I haven't read the books, so I can only hope. Maisie Williams is a superb actress and I'm hoping she brings GoT its next Emmy.

Maisie and Peter Dinklage are the reasons I'm sticking with this show. While the production values are high, that wouldn't be enough to make stick with the never-ending cast of characters and glacial plot lines, not to mention all the child-killings and really really bad sex scenes. Those two make it all worthwhile.

The lines that the writers come up with for Dinklage are priceless.

"Aren't you always so clever with your schemes and plots"
---Dinklage's sister

"You do know that schemes and plots are the same thing"
----Dinklage

Bronn (Tyrion's sell-sword) delivers some great lines too. The one about there being no cure for Joffrey's 'condition' had me cracking up especially. And despite a slightly dodgy accent I always love the scenes with Littlefinger/Lord Baelish and Varys the Spider.
The best dialogue is always lifted straight from the books.

In regards to Arya though, as someone who has read all the books I won't say if she ever utters those particular words, but I will say that eventually she becomes one of the most dangerous people in all the seven kingdoms! That's one little girl you really don't want to piss off...

I LOVED Firefly and Serenity. I was soooo pissed that Firefly was dropped.

Summer Glau was hypnotically captivating.

The people at Fox that canceled Firefly are as stupid as the people of Fox News.

ok guys, I don't like tv news either but for all those that don't like Fox news, have you watched MSNBC? Just as crazy, just in another direction. Keith Olberman was broadcasting out of a shipping container for current tv for a while but I guess he got fired, again . . . my point is this: There is plenty of crazy to go around on both sides these days. I'm starting to believe the whole left/right thing is designed to keep us distracted while the real work goes on elsewhere. And I do not believe anything I see on tv to have much more value than "entertainment" :peace:

Yup. MSNBC is just as nuts as Fox News. Polar opposites of one another. Anyone who watches either one exclusively gets a very distorted political view of the world, but that's the way it kinda works. Most people have a tendency to watch something that supports their preconceived ideas of how things are rather than watching something that can challenge those preconceived ideas of how things are.

In my opinion, exclusively watching something that just supports your current view on things is a total waste of time, for it's nothing more than "preaching to the choir", regardless if you are on the right or the left.

I always mix it up, some ABC, some CBS, various online resources, etc. That way I can get as much information as possible.

Yeah, I mix it up too from CNN to the major networks to O'reilly and Mike Wallace on Fox. I even try to watch Hannity every once in awhile, but after about 5 minutes of him, I want to put my fist through the TV. :bang:
