Athlete Vaporists?

Thank you soooooooo much bro! I really respect you for being able to moderate and wait till later in the day, and your advice is perfect. That is pretty encouraging to hear you say that you can choose to vape or not, and I was in the same boat having to vape to feel normal, and even then I wouldn't really get "high". It was clearly abuse, and i'm not going back there again (even though i've said that before in the past), but you make a good point about a minor allergy coupled with abuse. I'm taking your advice dude, big time, and i'll do some more breaks and spread it out so I don't develop a tolerance again.

My main fucking problem now is the lack of sleep.... I can get 4-5 hours, but I need like 6-7 (or 8) to function at my best. I always wake up, and am never able to sleep usually around 4:45-5:15am

I read something in another forum, about peoples inability to sleep after a certain time.. the solution was simple yet difficult, going to sleep early like 8-9pm.
If you are willing to try it for a week, maybe it will help. Although i dunno your work schedule and whatnot, it is much difficult than it sounds because nowadays people tend to stretch their days for way into the night. Try going without electricity and you realize your day ends much sooner. :)

Wait, 5 j's a day would 35 a week. How in the hell where you rolling 35 joints out of 5 grams? I can see maybe 10 or 15...

Well then, maybe more medicin each week.. but since i mixed tobacco it should be close though.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments so far!

@vape4life and vorrange, I adhere to a regular vaping schedule (though it's daily). Yes, sometimes I wish I could vape all day, but I find there is a great satisfaction in the discipline of moderation. Being able to enjoy your vices without going overboard is easier said than done, and to do so successfully gives a sense of accomplishment...but that's just me. Different folks have different strokes.

Cheers!

Couldn't have said it better myself, that is exactly how i feel about it. Indulge enough to keep you satisfied. ;)

Hey Vorrange, thanks, the only way i'd EVER be able to fall asleep that early is by vaping ironically lol But I know what you mean, if I miss my "window" i'm fucked.

Last night was VERY solid from midnight to 5am. I only had to get up at 6am for work, but there was no way I could sleep any longer. I wasn't too tired today either, still hit the gym in the morning and had a productive day, even though I hit a wall in the afternoon lol

I'm hoping it continues to improve because holy shit do I "feel" great, my lungs/breathing is the biggest eye opener.

I will respect this plant from now on....otherwise i'm not living to my potential.

Forgot to mention how much I kicked ass in the gym as well...i keep seeing so many positives that it makes me reconsider vaping, but then I get back to my senses lol

Hopefully you can find a satisfying balance, vape4life. I'm sure it will take some time--some trial and error. But in my view it's a worthy challenge. Luckily I had my discipline well in place while combusting, so it was easy to convert that schedule to vaping once I got my "vaping legs," so to speak. Like I said earlier, I vaped a ton more herb than I typically would as I first started, but that's because I was so fucking impressed with the quality over combusting. I had to make up for lost time! :ko:

I hear ya dude. A little different for me though, when I combusted back in the day I think I was where you're at night....it was a daily thing but only nightly and much, much less herb. I just LOVE the act of actually vaping, and since it's soooo much easier on my lungs, I do it more, then the tolerance shoots sky high, and then I fall into the cycle (trap). I feel like i've actually broken this cycle (trap) now, and have more control, however that's probably because i'm 100% abstaining now. Once I feel that sweet vapour it like takes over lol I know it's a psychological addiction but i'm working on that "satisfying balance" you mentioned. I'm getting my Solo back from warranty today, but I doubt i'll even use it tonight. To compensate, i'm making my wife put out a little extra more than usual! lol

Slept like a baby last night again, only 5 hours, but the quality was amazing. I also STILL cannot believe how i'm not congested and breathe sooooo easy. The only main issue I have now is that i'd like to sleep at least 1-2 hours more per night (if I can), and the night sweats are pretty intense.

^^^Good stuff--glad you had good sleep again last night.

I had a great run this evening, after a killer session with my new Headford inline bubbler. I had been using a tube with a 6-slit downstem. Well-built, but nothing special. The increased diffusion with the 12 slits is noticeable, and makes it even smoother.

I was hardcore into bodybuilding for 2 years while vaping and I certainly felt the difference over smoking. Though I dont currently compete in anything, I consider myself heavily athletic (when my body allows)

About 7 months ago I had ankle surgery after a tib/fib fracture and have been very sedantary since. I still can't run 1/4mile. I am really looking forward to beginning running again, I plan to train for a few marathons, though that may be a ways off still...

I do a lot of different types of of training for my boxing regime. Used to vape or even smoke and train but not anymore, just makes everything harder imo. Smoking no longer appeals to me but vapor is awesome. My environment messes with my lungs and cannabis is an excellent expectorant, I have no doubt that it can improve lung function. I took a break from heavy work outs for a few months and although my lung capacity went down, I swear that I noticed it raising again from consistent long/big hits. Maybe it was due to the constant breathing techniques or I'm just making false connections lol.

Dude! Tib/fib!? Faaack! That musta tickled. I still find it odd that you've switched from weights to running... bye bye muscle.

I just bought my first vaporizer today and I'm glad I joined the "family". I'm a mma fighter/grappler myself and train 7-8 passes a week (if you count s&c too).. I', everyday (sometimes two times a day or more) and don't have any problems regarding conditioning and I if vaporizing makes it even better I just can't wait:)
I'm a big fan of Nick Diaz (one of the best mma fighters ever) and I thought of him because he's doing traithlons too to improve his conditioning - and then he smokes/vaporize..

I would say i do not do endurance stuff but i do practice MMA and MuayThai, before when i use to smoke i use to feel terrible during and after working out compared to the way i feel since vaping.....

Nothing better then finishing a hard session and then getting some much needed pain relief. Saying that its Monday so 2 hour training session tonight ....bring it on.

Thanks, lefthook and Nicolaj, for sharing. Glad you found vaporizing, Nicolaj--you will feel the difference, i am sure.
I'd say your activity definitely involves endurance. I also agree there's not much better than a killer vape session after a killer workout. I ran 11miles with 2,500 of elevation gain yesterday...my after-run sesh was vapalicious!!

I am the Vapor King--I can do anything
I vape before embarking on 2-3 mile runs. When adding my iPod into the mix, I'll often find myself zonked out in the Vapor Zone.

68 years old. 6'2''..........223 lbs. Vape every evening. Run 20 miles a week while continuing to increase my pace. No problems.

Fantastic--you're inspiring. I'm in my early 40s and hope to continue my activity level for decades to come.

I hear you. Last night I got into my zone quite nicely during my run. I wonder if vaping helps...:ko:

The only thing stronger than my appetite for herb is my craving for exercise and activity. Mixing them turns out works very well.
I run into the issue where, after twos hours into a training ride or run, I start to come back down. No time to stop for a session gotta keep moving. Cookies help but I get tired of eating them too frequently.

I am resting my legs for a marathon this weekend. Probably eat a cookie before and half way in.
Trying to beat my best of 3:50. I will report back on how I do.

Awesome, very inspiring thread guys. I also train Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) and am currently training 6x a week in preparation for competition in less than two weeks while still have time to get vaked every night with my MFLB (I choose not to vape before training sessions though). Currently my conditioning feels amazing and I feel more ready than ever! I don't know how my results would be currently if I had been smoking instead because I never smoked as often as I vape now, however I do know vaping has not caused any negative effects on my performance. Just finished a tough training session, think I'm gonna go hit a trench now :p

Ratm - That's solid. I share your passion for tasty herb and challenging exercise. I'm training for an upcoming marathon. It's more of an endurance challenge, actually--a marathon-distance trail run through the mountains--thousands of feet of elevation gain, etc... I've done it before and it's epic.

Haha funny thing I ran my first marathon last October. I did a surprisingly nice 3h49 (!) back then. Funny thing² is I quited smoking 2 months later :D

Excellent, okikir! Well done.

Thanks for sharing, tt! I'm glad other athletically-oriented vaporists are chiming in.

I love to 'stench a trench,' as I like to say :mflb: . The MFLB is a handy partner when I'm traveling to a race or to a far-off training ground.

Just had a great run, a hot shower, a nice meal with my lovely wife, an enormously effective blue-dream filled vaping session, and now my vaked ass is typing away for you cool-ass vapor nerds.

Cheers, all!

I play ball on the weekends for around 2 hours, sometimes up to 6. I also do MA every day where my injuries allow me. Vaping before a workout isn't as rewarding as doing it after. When you vape before, then exercise after, your body releasing it's own chemicals that overwhelm any high a weed plant can provide you, and by the time you cool down your high will be worn off.
