Task is the guy who creates Highly Educated nails and everything. This picture is actually from Aqua Lab Tech's instagram page lol. Task has an instagram too, taskrok, where he posts all his pictures. got some insane stuff hes working on!

Task is also of "Task and Linus" the hip hop bho group!

This is his "electric nail" for dabs...Guess he sent one to aqua lab for them to check out.

Ah, gotcha. Well, sort of at least. I guess I'm to much of an outsider to understand your scene-lingo completely. So that's a solder station with a titanium tip then?

I thought this was about the FC member called HighlyEducatedScholar at first

OTA I was so vaked that I just forgot you're from across the pond. Instagram is a photo sharing application on iphone and that's where the pictures were from. Highly Educated makes a lot of TI nails and everything, aqua lab technologies has a lot of them, Taskrok is the highly educated creator and he posted those other two pictures on instagram as well. that other picture has some 6 cup titanium nail he made for experimenting I guess.

As for the electric nail, I'm not exactly sure how it works but you seemed to describe it pretty simply. He makes the titanium so it looks like a big titanium cup attached to the soldering station with a gong joint to fit in the bong

A hot air rework station (a good one) costs maybe $150. I don't see $650 of added value here. Maybe I need to do some dabs.

Maybe you have yourself a market for a nice product? haha

I've heard a lot of people saying stuff like about the e-nail since it came out. someone is bound to come out with a new e-nail type device soon for much cheaper i would hope haha.

This was my first thought too... Thats a lot of mark up for a modded hot air rework/ solder station

VAPOLITICS!
Oh I had not seen this thread and posted elsewhere today about the 800$ markup on ALT!

I'd feel better about spending mega markup cash if they didn't choose the cheapest PID controller made: The awful Mypin TA4. a $45 controller if you buy qty 10 (high failure rates). I'd expect a Fuji or a CAL, both low cost (90usd) but uber reliable.
You have seen Fuji PID's in vapes such as the Fogger and the Super Vapezilla. Then again, a volcano digit lists for $660 usd, so I can see them wanting $800 in baller cash... But I still think if I was to spend eight large, I'd want better than the cheapest electronics in it. The ugly "it's for cannabis" markup rears it's head for sure!

But very cool to own in my book. Wishlist.

I can not wait for this to be more affordable. I have been waiting for this technology for years. Someone please make a better one of these cheaper. Stoner tech !!!

Salutations MarcellusWiley,

It exists boys.

After reading a thread initiated by NorcalOilMan on TokeCity i thought for a split second that you had really made my day when i read comments deading to conclude that's actually a magnetic induction-heating device!

Unfortunately, i've been unable to verify these rumors as "Highly Educated" won't work well for a search string... At least we can see on YouTube that the single-ended coil-shaped tool gets red-hot but that's about it. With Induction Heating shouldn't we expect a coil with 2 terminals and not enough heat to render that coil luminescent?... Yet, i sort of wonder.

:peace:

The actual heating element is inside what you think is a single terminal "coil". It's actually 4 wires (terminals - look at the AMP socket not the heating "cable") covered by a metal mesh shielding that lead into a ni-chrome metal jacketed heating element and a temperature sender wrapped around a Ti nail.
Why people think it's anything other than what is pictured, I don't know. I've used 2 HE Electric nails and neither required Harry Potter to make it get hot. ;) No. it's not an induction device. It's a direct heater.

Anyone else pick one of these up? Just got it tonight, so I haven't had a ton of time to experiment with it, but I'm pretty blown away. I'm not the most experienced, but I get better tasting hits off it than I have off anything else.

On top of that the versatility is ridiculous. It's 5 pieces. Large cup, small cup, shaft, 14/18mm male joint, 14/18mm female joint. Will fit on anything you've got.

Now that I've had a couple days with it, I'm more comfortable posting some more information. Just to get it out of the way, other TI I have used only includes a few swings, a Cosmic 14mm grade 5 ti nail, and a generic ti nail.

I think one of the biggest advantages the Infiniti has to any of those is mass. This thing holds a ridiculous amount of heat for a long time. I have a fairly small torch. It takes forever to heat up for the first dab of a session, but after that, as long as I don't wait more than 5 minutes or so, it heats back up almost as quick as my skillet did. This mass also gives it enough power to fully vape very large hits. Swings and little nails and stuff...you can take nice big dabs, but you've got to overheat the TI so you burn your hit and it tastes bad.

This thing actually tastes a bit more like a swing, which, imo, if you use it correctly is one of the best tasting hits there is. The skillet gives the oil space to spread out instead of just bubbling on top of itself like on the tip of a nail. The Infiniti works like this also. They call the cup a "Kings Moat." This is why I think I'm getting such tasty hits off of it. The oil has plenty of room to move.

On claim...there isn't much. It's interesting. With the other TI I've used, you end up with a bunch of unvaped claim. It's in your bubbler and all pretty and yellow....wtf? It's pretty much completely unvaped oil in there. The claim I've gotten with the Infiniti is dark, like the stuff that's in the glass part of a curve or what gets gummed up around the bottom of a normal nail and dome. I think what happens is the top of the shaft is also hot enough to vaporize oil, so what is normally unvaped gets vaped while traveling through the hot shaft.

I want to talk a bit about how it transfers heat into your glass, but I'm trying to wait until I use it in a serious session. So far, it's just been me, by myself, so I'm not sure how it performs when being used constantly. So far, it getting stuck or anything like that hasn't been an issue at all. I think the fact that it doesn't really claim up helps with that a lot.

ive dabbed plenty of times off these nails, everyone up in denver has em, i love the look of them when setup on female pieces, they heat up faster that way too, also when using some skillet tools its nice to just stick the dabber in the hole and spin a few times and it cleans the dabber very nicely.

what i hate, is how long it takes to heat up, but like dannkk said if you're dabbing often or in a circle its a nice quick heat up

It'll fit anything if I'm not mistaken. I'd get some sort of glass on glass adapter to get it off of the mobius glass.

z9,
Will this fit on my Mobius Ion? Considering buying it if so.

It's designed to fit 14 and 18mm female & 14 and 18mm male. So yes, it should fit.

I want one, but at $150... it costs more than some of the glass I'd be using it on

i know its not exactly four nails, but how many HE nails could you buy for that price? all the other models are just as damn expensive, might as well just step it up a little more and just get the finnity' if you have a wide array of pieces with all diff joints, this thing is such a lifesaver if you travel to friends houses or take your rigs to work ect...

plus it transforms into the transport mode haha once again great for travel
