Discontinued ThermoVape Evolution

I Quote from THC

"guys when we started in this industry we did not know the difference between 510, 601, 808 or a 901.
At that time the 808 901 510 and 601 where the common threads, 601 at last place. But as the years passed 510 became the main thread and now is the king.

The very first manufacturer we had did a 601 thread and 510 we selected a 601 thread. Then another company who shall remain nameless found out or manufacturer so we had to switch, but since we already had units out their and did not want to disturb previous clientele.

And here we are"

Thanks, hopefully that will suffice for a while. I'll give odds we're back on it by mid summer.....

Should work, however we don't make it so I cannot make any promises. As long as the passthrough is solid (meaning the numbers they quote) you should be good to go.

OK, but most eGo style batteries are regulated down to 3.2-3.3V throughout their discharge to give consistent performance. Will these still work at this power?

It will work on the Ego base, it will work better if you have a unit that does not have a cutt-off. Otherwise you will have to master pulsing the switch to beat the cutt-off.

Looking forward to getting this in a couple of days. Thanks for the coupon code to upgrade the shipping. I plan to try it on an ego style battery and will comment... Also have a lil'chuck and a couple of different laser mods to dust off and give a test run. I am guessing the old 510 manual cig style batteries just won't have the juice like the ultralite, just not a strong enough battery...

You are very welcome for the shipping discount.

Yea, I'm afraid you are correct about the old style batteries. You need to get up to the Ego, or a 14500 equivalent battery. The little 200-250 mAh guys just don't have the juice.

Looking forward to your thought on the Evolution.

ThermoVape,
It wouldn't be to bad if you could get 20 or so pulls for some ego cheapo batts. But then you would probably have to carry 2, and at that point, might as well have a big bat.

Very nice guys! I will be ordering one tomorrow morning, as soon as I stuff some cash in my pocket!

You guys are amazing, can't wait to try it with my e-cig mod.
report back!

Having it be 510 compatible and available in Standard (for 6V or Variable Voltage use) and Low voltage for 3.7 Volt (3.7-4.2V) use makes this device very exciting. It opens up a whole world of devices that can now be a high performance, American Made, Medical Device grade, botanical vaporizer.

amen brotha!

ordering soon.

What's the average bowl with medium grind and very little packing?

0.3-0.4g?

With the Evolution it sounds like .03-.05g with very little packing. Enough for 2-5 hits before repacking. We'll have to wait for some people to report back on how much they can fit and how many hits they can get before repacking. I picked these numbers after reading this http://www.fuckcombustion.com/threads/thermovape-evolution-flower-cart.5685/page-3#post-213955 and ThermoCoreTim said in the TV thread, "Something in the order of half the volume of a T1 and just a slightly larger diameter than a Revolution." Half of the TV is around .05-.07g.

Anyway, the high power flashlight guys ran into this first and came up with the 'sorta standard' 17670 format, which is what you want. Protected 1600 mAh. Can deliver LOTS of power. Charges in the same chargers (AFAIK).

Thanks for the response OF! Informative indeed.

I wonder why such a big MaH diff between the the 17670 and the 18650. 1800 to 3000 from what I read.

Will do side by sides with the LV evo and LV dart in the Thermo with the 17670 and the Persei with the 18650 and post results once I have them both in later this week or next.

VAPE SCIENCE!

Hi TV,

I was in love and ready to buy until I saw the video... now I'm concerned about drawing air through a heated teflon piece, due to the same concerns I have about the cookware. (Fumes from Teflon pans have made people sick and killed birds...) Any comments on this?

Any chance you would/could ever make this with an all-glass path?

Also, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't get the difference between the two voltage kits. I understand the lower voltage one produces way more hits than the higher voltage one; in that case, what is the advantage of the higher voltage kit?

It's mostly hype, to get teflon to release fumes you have to leave it on the stove with nothing in it ("dry boiling") for a long time... something like 650F+

This teflon piece shouldn't even see 400F so it should be very safe. My herbalaire uses a teflon rim and mouthpiece and it has no taste what-so-ever, I think you'll be happy with the evolution even if you are used to glass :2c:

I have a comment or two. While the Florine poisoning issue is real, I think your concerns are misplaced. PTFE is generally considered safe for use past 500 degrees, vapor is a full hundred less when generated and is cooling all the time from there. The airpath never sees temperatures that high with PTFE walls, it's all ceramic and Nickle there. It's next to impossible to prove such things are safe, but science says that's what's happening as near as I can tell.

By way of background normal solder melts at about this same temperature (varies with alloy), PTFE has long been used at those temperatures and even soldering iron temperatures (700 degrees typically) for brief periods without melting, outgassing or degrading.

There's a lot of good information on PTFE on the web, have a look?

As to why two voltages, there are two more or less standard voltages in the e-cig world, low volt (3.7) and high volt (6.0). We modify that a bit with 'hot off the charger' numbers. TV makes products for both groups. If you have gear, that determines what you want. If you don't, 3.7 Volt is probably a better choice?

0.2-0.3g?

The bowls volume is 0.055 cubic inches, the amount of botanical varies vastly due to different densities and consistencies.
How many batteries come with the LV?

The ThermoVape Evolution LV comes with one 17670 battery.

We have been researching implementing an all glass or partial glass air path for future models. The Teflon doesn't reach high enough temperatures to be any worry for anyone.

The advantage of the standard voltage can be seen only during warmup, it takes about 5-10 seconds for the standard voltage to get to operating temperature where the LV may take up to 15 seconds.

This is getting harder than keeping keeping up with apple products, I love to see new stuff but it kind of sucks that everything I bought a few months back is already obsolete.

If you buy just the flower cart it is not that hard to keep it up.. :b

I feel you, SF Giant, i was just kidding with you a little bit. I been wanting to pull the plug on another portable/semi-portable and have been holding out because of all the new stuff that keeps coming from everywhere.

Exciting times for vaporists i believe!

Are you going to sell a kit with extra batteries too? And also, is there a power adapter on the making? I read the TV1 thread and you said it was on the works..

Congrats on another great product, can't wait to hear some reviews about it and how it behaves in comparison to the TV1.

So far the only thing I bought from TV that isn't getting much use is the Revolution heating element. It's still in fairly new condition, only been cleaned once, used it maybe a dozen times... but I look at it as a long term back up for when my more favored devices get used to the point of breaking, and I was happy to get in at the floor level with the TV guys as they continue to mature. If they are to develop a dart insert that can work w/the window being there, I am sure I would indulge in an upgrade. My desk looks like some kind of crazy space age science project right now. Looking forward to testing out the Evolution!
