Various e-cig type Vaporizers

With the influx of e-cig devices being marketed as cannabis vaporizers, we feel the need to draw a line on what will qualify to have its own thread here in Vaporizer Discussion.

There are hundreds of e-cig brands and models, but the internals are typically based on parts from only a handful of manufacturers. We're at a point where anyone with some money can order a batch of e-cigs with the housing and branding to their specification, and call it the "UltraMystStick 5000 Concentrate Vaporizer".

With that in mind, we're going to require e-cig type devices marketed as cannabis vaporizers to meet some criteria before we allow them their own thread. If they don't meet that criteria they will be grouped together in this thread.

Currently, that means the company behind the device must at least have a website which provides a detailed explanation of why their product is unique, and, safe to use as a cannabis/cannabis concentrate vaporizer.

If you've posted a thread and it's been closed, please post about the product in this thread. Thank you. :)

I was trying to find a supplier for the Lava Tube in Canada but could only find a supplier for the Knight Rider. This Knight Rider is suppose to be identical to the Lava Tube and from what I can see it is.
I have had one now for about 2 months and it works as expected. Well what can you say, it's a variable voltage power supply for the common 510 thread.
20120227080204.jpg

I have measured the output with volt meter and it is bang on what the LCD indicator says.
HOWEVER: I found that the amount of pressure you have on the trigger switch makes a difference to the amount of vapor. To confirm this suspicion I had a cartomizer which was taken apart. While having it screwed into my Knight Rider and pushing the trigger to light up the coil to a nice red, I found by varying the pressure I could control the brightness of the glow. This indicates the current path is through that trigger switch.
This is a big let down as the trigger should be controlling an output transistor and have an anti- bounce circuit as well. I was under the impresion that this was a well designed regulated power supply.
I have also noticed that there is no battery low warning until you can tell by the performance. Therefore, it doesn't warn if falling below your preset voltage but blinks once battery is down to 3.2 - 3.3 volts. The voltage boost circuit falls before that blinking display happens.
Overall this unit is over priced for what you actually get.
Still the variable voltage is definitely the way to go just kind of disappointed about the current path.

Aren't these the same guys that six months ago were claiming to be in a business deal with THC for a remarked Omicron? I don't think they ever named names, but they used the Omicron in their photography.

Notice all the 'investor talk' at the end of the news release? Please tell me this is a serious effort at something other than trying to scam your Grandmother's retirement money?

Edit: You know, these people?

I guess if they're the ones that really developed the Omicron, we can trust them, right? OF

What I meant was: what is the difference in the unit (physically) from the dozens of regular e-cigs that look just like it? I don't mean to abuse you with questions here but there is a ton of "companies" out there that are just slapping their label on regular ass e-cigs and calling them a concentrate vaporizer. These products usually work poorly or not at all for pure concentrates and wind up broken or non operable within a few days time. No offense but to me this looks alot like one of these products..... So i'm just curious if you guys designed any part of this vape? How is it different from a regular e-cig? Because "you can put concentrates in it" goes for any e-cig on the market, shit I could put concentrates in my shoe but it doesn't mean they will vape well out of it

I hope so, but it does 'walk like a duck' to some extent. Since IMO there's a Due Diligence question, I'd encourage you to do a little Market Research on your own? A good place to start might be with Omicron, the established product used in RFMs promotional stuff. Poke in that thread and you'll find the owner of that company STRONGLY denying the claim that there was a deal going on, that anyone outside had any stake in the company, nor was any available.

If you poke some here you'll find many threads of similar 'e-cigs converted to pot' ideas that have died. Right now 'Gentleman's' and 'AtmosRAW' and 'Gentleman's THC Stick (not to be confused with the first) fighting on life support IMO. They are not alone. And of course 'Trippy Stix', now in it's second or third time at bat, looking like it's finally struck out? And that's just the first 3 pages, going back a month or so.

These guys seem to enjoy a modest following but their faults rapidly spell their demise. Sure they work, sometimes. Just not very often or very well in comparison to their competition which only enjoys a modest market share anyway.

Your money, I wish you luck, but I wouldn't let my Grandmother bet the farm on it.

good point, the technology will be patented as soon as funding comes through, but it has been tested at otherside health management for a while now and the owner which has had experience for 30 years with marijuana and patients with experince with these types have tryed it(all loved it). i didnt design it so i dont know the technology involved but it definitely works good.
no leaks, good battery life, easy to replace cartridges, smaller and more discrete then anything else out from what ive seen.
as soon as their is videos of the product in use and other stuff ill keep this thread updated
happy easter !

So you've actually tired it? Cool. That makes a big difference if it's really awesome. How does it compare to the Omicron (you know, 'last years problem plagued model)? Not to be cynical (only cautionary) we've seen this a lot. The Principle of the maker of Omicron was in that business for several years, he produces a proven reliable product. Works every time (or near enough) for everyone. Hundreds of trouble free hits few if any can match for a few. Less are able to do so on demand.

And on demand is what medical is all about.

Think about it a bit, we're a bunch of nuts on this stuff (not investments). If this thing stood even half a chance in our minds we'd be all over it. You'll note all the 'old hands' (guys with hundreds of posts over several threads) are generally on the con side of the discussions, it's the guys with 3 posts and registrations two days old that sing the praises in non specific terms. We're kind of a 'fact and experienced' bunch, really. Our experience with modified e-cigs is they are at best a compromise and the companies that promote them short lived and plagued with customer service issues for the most part.

Alright, how about you go and tell us in what way this vaporizer is any different from the numerous user draw powered 510 model ecigs that you just posted a diagram of? How in any way, at all, can this vaporizer be any different? We'd all love to hear why. Because what I am seeing is just another converted ecig, pushed by a comapny who has no problem blatanly lying to the consumer and untill your company provides a shred of evidence otherwise you are just another sham in my books.

*please delete me*
yup, this is fishy as all hell.

the cartridge looks *exactly* like the magnum one love carts. these *will* need an eliquid or juice carrier liquid (notice the white cap stays on the cart?) they also use a cotton wick and will burn as the juice runs out (mmm inhaling burnt cotton).

until these guys show us otherwise instead of repainting a cheap ecig and saying "our technology is proprietary", hiding the details, then this cannacig is just another repainted chinese eliquid ecig. stay away.

yep thats understandable, once product is out and videos/reviews are out and they break down the tech for consumers ill post it right away.
i guess i should of waited until all of those were out until i made a thread. got to excited lol, its available in California at othersidehealth managemt today for the launch party(on sale on monday) is anyone wants to give it a run and post here how it went.

stay away?you havent even tested it! so just wait until i post video reviews till you guys start bashing this :o

dont take my word that it works great, take the word of the owner of OHM, Judah ray Neiditch
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1841040/
hes got a reputation to uphold and he wouldnt ruin it by releasing a cruddy product

HERES THE THING!

We don't need to test it. We can tell by the parts, the diagrams, and the charger being the EXACT SAME unit shipped with other ecig based vaporizers. We are not stupid, and we are not falling for this. I will gladly eat my words the second you provide one shred of proof otherwise but right now you are a lying bastard who is trying to scam all of us, and we are not falling for it. Care to prove me wrong? I'm waiting...

OH! I see. Now that you've provided us with a B list celebrity who is putting his name to the vape, I can see it's legit. Because it's impossible for a celebrity to put their name to something bad when they have a reputation to uphold (*cough* beats by dre, *cough* ).

Where can I buy a Vapor Inhaler?

The device will be available at retail outlets that carry vaporizing and smoking accessories across America... and soon to be internationally available.

How does the Vapor Inhaler device work?

Vapor Inhalers consist of 3 components: a battery, an atomizer and a loadable cartridge. When a person takes a drag the atomizer and the light on the tip is powered on by the battery. The atomizer heats the air drawn into the electronic device to a high enough temperature that it vaporizes the active agent in the replaceable cartridge. The vapor is then inhaled into the mouth and lungs fully simulating the smoking experience and delivering the essential components.

The simulated “smoke” is actually just water vapor that evaporates in a few seconds which leaves no lingering odor.

How does the Vapor Inhaler switch on?

The device automatically turns on when the atomizer detects air being drawn into the electronic device.

How do I know when to recharge the battery?

The device will blink to indicate that you should recharge the battery. If you should experience little or no vapor ensure that your battery is fully charged and properly attached to the device and that the cartridge is firmly inserted in the end of the device. Also, check the cartridge to make sure that it doesn’t need to be replaced.

How long do the batteries typically last before needing a recharge?

Vapor Inhaler batteries will last 1 – 3 days before re-charging, depending upon the intensity of usage. Longevity will vary by individual as well.

On the device an indicator light on the tip will blink 2 times when the battery is getting low on power. You are suggested to carry a spare battery and charger when traveling or during other times when high usage is anticipated.

How long do batteries take to recharge?

On average a new battery may need to be charged initially for about 3 hours. Subsequent recharges should take about 2 hours. The charger has an indicator light on the charger that turns green so there is no guess-work in determining when the charging cycle is complete.

How many times can a battery be recharged?

On average a battery can be recharged over 300 times.

What are the main benefits / advantages of Vapor Inhalers?

  • Closely simulates smoking and still delivers potent results.
  • Can be used in non-smoking areas
  • Free of harmful tar, carcinogenic substances and combustion gases present in regular smoking.
  • Lower cost
What is the smoke that is released?

The simulated “smoke” is simply the vaporized active agent in the cartridge. This smoke is water vapor that evaporates into the air within seconds and leaves virtually no odor. There are no additional / unwanted chemicals produced in the vaporization process because there is no chemical reaction or combustion taking place as with regular smoking.

How long do the cartridges last?

Results will vary depending on the intensity of a person’s average inhalation and the style of the device they are using. Here is an approximate break down of how long each style should last but remember that this will vary for everyone. One pen-style style cartridge should provide around 40 hits.

How do I know when to replace the cartridge?

In general, when the vapor volume is reduced below a satisfactory level this usually means that your cartridge needs to be replaced. There is a chance that your battery may need to be recharged as well although most devices blink the tip when the battery needs a recharge.

Do Vapor Inhalers carry warranties?

Yes! A Vapor Inhaler comes with a 1 year warranty on manufacturing, defects and workmanship. If you drop it out the window down while cruising the interstate you are probably out of luck!

Does Vapor Inhaler's vapor smoke smell?

The odor is barely noticeable and is completely unlike traditional smoke.

Can use a Vapor Inhaler anywhere?

Yes. Since the Vapor Inhaler is non-flammable, contains no tobacco and emits no secondhand smoke, it is not a form of smoking that would be prohibited under laws prohibiting smoking in public. Many people have used the devices without issue or complaint in restaurants, bars, airports, airplanes, the workplaces, and many other locations where traditional smoking is discouraged or prohibited.

Do I have to be a legal age to purchase and use a Vapor Inhaler?

No one under the legal smoking age in your country or state should use any electronic smoking device.

Can I use a Vapor Inhaler if I am pregnant?

A Vapor Inhaler should NOT be used by anyone who is pregnant, nursing or has health other serious health concerns without first consulting the advice of a physician.

Are Vapor Inhaler smoking cessation products?

No. Vapor Inhalers are not an approved smoking cessation product. The proper testing and research has not been conducted to prove the efficacy of Vapor Inhalers as a smoking cessation aid.

Do Vapor Inhalers require any maintenance?

In general, the only maintenance required is charging and replacing batteries, as well as inserting fresh cartridges. Occasionally atomizers go bad and need to be replaced as well. You must also keep all components away from water and extreme temperatures.

Are there any other safety or concerns I should be aware of regarding Vapor Inhalers?

Vapor Inhalers should only be used by committed smokers age 21 years and older, not by nonsmokers or by children, pregnant women, women breast feeding, or persons with or at risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or taking medicine for depression or asthma.

Consult a physician if you experience misuse symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, weakness and rapid heartbeat. If you smoke tobacco products, you are encouraged to stop.

Keep Vapor Inhaler products out of the reach of children and pets. Ingestion of the certain pieces can present a choking hazard and ingestion of the non-vaporized concentrated ingredients in the cartridges can be dangerous.

And was that user manual supposed to be proof? I didn't see a single sentence setting this vape apart from 510's. And your miswording what I said. This is a sham, not a scam. A scam is when the purchaser dosen't get the product. A sham is when the purchaser is mislead into thinking their buying quality and then get crap.

And this is the manual investors cooled their heels for a month because the original wasn't up to standards? Musta been a pip. Belies the source of this great 'development' doesn't it? Did they right the unacceptable one in Nevada too?

I think I might be responsible for introducing the concept of scam. But then again, I was thinking the real marketing effort going on was selling to investors who I think just might be buying into an empty sack? It's not so much that I have some experience with 'the other side of this', but I have some experience..... I worked for a couple of years for a Light Manufacturer with 100 plus employees that never had 'a million dollar month' (shipments). But we had 6,000 investors total in four Limited Partnerships. Yes, 6,000 individuals. They'd get like $1.38 in 'royalty flow' for their five grand 'module'. We'd go watch the royalty checks come off the line printer. Names change, the date and that $1.38 (or whatever for that run) didn't except the odd bigger amount, say nearly fourteen bucks for those clever enough to invest $50,000? They'd all taken deductions for their shares on their taxes and couldn't back out without serious tax issues.

Not that this is what's up here, of course, but it has some of the earmarks and for sure seems at least likely to me.

I figure if it's even half as good as the press, we'll be hearing about it from the good members in the LA area before the weekend's out?
