how do you hit your mflb?

I recently discovered if I do a ghostcatcher technique on the LB with the stem on that it cools the vapor so I can take fatter hits. Somebody else recommended lifting the tongue to block the direct vapor but that was really not a good tech for me.

Your method can give far better results, but imo it needs more skill/effort to do.

CHEI, I dont know if this is a noob question but can you explain what a ghostcatcher technique is?
When I hit my box, I like to do micro sip for maybe 10 sips, then do a long slow draw for about 5 seconds, pull out the battery and continue drawing for 3 seconds.

I usually wait about 5-7 seconds, then take slow, short drags, getting longer and harder (no homo) when I feel the vapor heating up. Because draws are used as a way of cooling off temperatures inside the vape, I generally just go by the vapor temperature as a measure of how long and fast I hit it. If it gets too hot, I inhale quicker to cool it down to a steady temp I like, and if it's not even warm yet, I let it warm up a few seconds then start slowly inhaling, increasing draw speed and strength as I go. Once I take out the battery, I inhale until I barely have any room left in my lungs, and then stop and breathe in as much air as I can, then hold it.

it's been a while since i used my mflb, but micro hitting for the win! you get higher temps this way which = better extraction imo. :)

I Vapes Hard
I have found the micro hits are best and liked it best with a stem...heres my proecdure that works for me...

Of course loaded, charged and ready...I do a deep inhale and exhale while holding the battery in. I rest the stem lightly on my bottom lip and very lightly close my lips around the stem at the same time taking the sip. I open my mouth, with the stem still on my bottom lip to sligtly breathe in the surrounding air and let the next cloud build. Will repeat the micro hits about 5 times, then while still holding the battery in, give a quick flip and shake to settle the herb, and take about another 4-5 micro hits, this time with a bit quicker pace. I finish it off with a slow pull up to remaining capacity while letting the battery go.

I think this is just a matter of preference. Ive seen some friends doing much better with the long and slow draw method than i did. It takes practice to get your own methods down. Thats what i say to first time box users who may hit it once and feel disappointed, that "smoking from the launch box is an art, and takes practice"

the ghostcatcher technique is similar to mouth smoking. take a slow draw into the mouth first but just as you begin to release the vapor you then inhale the air cooled vapor.

That sounds cool, I'll definitely try that tonight! Usually I just let it sit in my mouth and kinda slide down my throat, but I'm guessing for your technique you just hold it in your mouth until the end?

Sorry to sound like a douche, because the above can certainly be useful for new and old MFLB users alike, but isn't there already a thread for this? Namely the MFLB thread...?

In the mega-thread for the MFLB there's discussion of various ways to take vapor hits from it but it was posted years ago and has been buried in the topic.

I tried finding the techniques in the mega thread but couldn't find them if anyone else wants to try to look for them go ahead.

When I use the MFLB which isn't that often I just do as others said and use micro hits. I do not use the stem.

Do a search for "MFLB Draw Techniques" and then select to Display by Post (default is thread). Then you can click on the individual posts and be taken right to it. Yeah, we do a LOT of posting in that thread... and I'm still a n00b. Still such a wonderful piece of human ingenuity... there's always something to talk about. Oh... and I hit by Box like this...

Depends on what kind of battery you have. I have some sanyo eneloops (1900mAh), I place my thumb over the hole without the stem, while I press and hold for about 5 sec, then place the MFLB to my lips, I hold my breath letting the vapor build for a few more seconds, then drag slowly. The longer you let the vapor build up the greater the hit will be.

*As of today i have been experimenting w/ letting it vape up(~3-4 sec.) hitting for ~half a lung and then continue hitting for the other ~half of lung, until i feel cool air for a second or so.. as long as i end every hit this way it seems to make my trench go further and taste/ hit better, longer... I'm sure i was wasting my trench some by not doing that before... because it seems to take like 4 seconds or so to feel cool air, and i would usually let off the power just a second or 2 before my hit was over... i'm happy w/ the results... Seems to keep the screen from being hot too long at the end and it vapes more evenly than usual for me... I like to let it heat up as much as i can because i figure it takes advantage of the IR more while the screen is still Starting to heat UP; once it gets going i imagine the screen temp over powers the IR effects more than at the start... i like to think so anyway hahaha.
*Also i have been on the road w/ a LB today and i took my MF 2 battery charger.. i would go through a trench or 2 and throw it on the charger... and then grab another fresh battery and do the same... i brought 4 batteries w/ me and only used 2 the whole time that i was near an outlet... i like that, because usually i use my batteries until they are pretty dead and then recharge... Is it OK to just keep them topped off as long as i drain them out now and then??? because i like how quick they charge back fully this way; and how i only use 2 instead of 4... makes my energizer 15 min less useful... i don't care much for it anyway, but it does the job good enough when i need it to..

Yes, it's okay to top off the charge like that.
