Quick single serving ABV recipe

This is hopefully going to be a quick simple post, we will see.

Here is a quick recipe I tried yesterday that was basically referenced from a recipe on Grass City.

Here is what I did, then I'll explain the effects.

#1) Measured 1 gram ABV (medium brown)

#2) "ground" it up in the bottom of a very small, bake-able dish, "les crouset" was the name, apparently its a high quality kitchen cookware company. I say ground because I made it finer simply by grinding different blunt ends of utensils into it in a circular motion until it was fairly fine.

#3) added 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

#4) covered with tinfoil

#5) baked at 250 for 25 minutes.

#6) strained oil out and put in container for later

I drank the oil (ew) and two hours later felt the effects coming on. I was very happy because my other two attempts at cooking with ABV didn't work, they both involved cooking ABV in milk for a period of time. The problem is, people who make edibles are never patient enough to wait and see the effects, they almost always smoke or vape too soon. Having school the next day after about 2.5 hours from ingestion and with fairly prominent effects, I decided to vape.

Now one of two interesting things happened. I vaped a bowl or two of normal quality weed, nothing too amazing. Sometime after this - several hours - I became very uncomfortably high, and was basically hallucinating, it was very very scary, but i reminded myself to surrender to the flow and ate my way through the bad trip. All in all im glad my recipe worked, the fact that I got off from 1 gram makes me happy and I plan to alter the recipe to make it more palatable and manageable.

The real experiment comes when I eat what was left over of the strained ABV remains, which I put on a cracker with peanut butter. Ill be interested to see if I extracted ALL the goodies into the oil, or whether eating the actual ABV will get me off a second time.

Sorry for the haste of this post - but I wanted to put this on here because it seems like so many people wan't to try cooking but they are inherently skeptical because edibles don't work a lot of the time for many people. This is a recipe that I am fairly certain should work for everyone so long as they follow the instructions, which are painfully simple.

Please report your findings if you try this and if you can think of any alterations I'd love to hear them!

Thanks for reading :peace:

I have heard of people simply grinding ABV fine and then soaking in a shot glass of a strong type of alcohol(everclear is probably recommended often) for a few minutes to a half an hour and then drinking that. I have heard good results but I dont drink so that wasnt a practical option for me.

I have however had great success by loading(by hand) ABV into vegetable capsules after just 'grinding' the abv very fine using my fingers. A couple of those gives me a good chill body effect going, but dosage varies.

0.5 - 1g ABV

Grind finely with fingers.

Sprinkle on any food you wish to consume. Some flavours work better than others.

Works every time! :D

That's a conveniently quick recipe... I'll have to give it a try and see how it works for me. I still have some cannabutter in the fridge that needs to get used first, which will give me time to collect up a bunch of ABV.

Quick Update: I wanted to see if the remaining ABV I strained from the oil retained any THC so I would know the effectiveness of the extraction in oil and if the duration and heat of the cooking was enough. So I took the gross looking, oil soaked ABV and put it in between two crackers with peanut butter. I ate it the day after I drank the oil and after 2 hours I felt a very slight buzz, but nothing compared to the first time. This means that the process is pretty efficient and one isn't wasting much THC through this process. I bet if I baked it even longer and agitated it I could get an even better extraction and know that im not wasting any of my ABV. Even though I vape every other day and have a pretty strong tolerance it still takes me a long time to amass even more than 5 g's of ABV so I like to be efficient.

Anyway thats all for now, Im going to be experimenting I really want to make a homemade edible that is efficient and easy to dose. I got my hands on 10 cheeba chews even though I live in a non-medical state, you can google them if you dont know what they are but they are hash oil infused tootsie rolls basically, and they are awesome. I want to make either capsules or some sort of small THC infused edible that I can take on the go and doesn't scream marijuana when I eat it in public.

there are medicated candies called Benjamin bank rolls i hear they are also very similar to a tootsie roll.

with ABV it doesnt have to be cooked, as long as its vaporized enough then you can eat it as is after grinding it up, which is why straight ABV capsules work so effectively.
best of luck with finding something that satisfies your buds... :peace:

I did this same thing again, but ground up the ABV finer and cooked it for 30 minutes instead of 25 and agitated it more. It worked just as well, it does however take over 2 hours to kick in, and more like 3 to reach climax which can be a hassle. My main complaint is that drinking even that small amount of olive oil makes me pretty queasy, i need to make this recipe more palatable, or find a new extraction medium.

You're definitely right, It's really not a lot of oil...I think eating it plain is what makes me feel gross...It would be gone very fast if I dipped bread in it. Thanks!

The problem with making edibles with cannabis is the unknown strength. The more ABV you accumulate, the easier dosing will be, IMO. See, the way I see it, if you can get an ounce of ABV, and then get it crushed up pretty nicely, and thoroughly mixed it, then you could safely scoop out a tablespoon and it would be of pretty even strength. Whereas if you try to eat a gram of ABV from a few weeks ago and then one from last week, maybe you changed your technique and one gram is less vaped than the other, even though they both look the same.

I just throw 0.5 to 1 gram in my hot chocolate..I've done this about a dozen times already and it works everytime.

I put the hot chocolate mix in my cup, add boiled water, add abv and let it cool down until it's very drinkable. The high is not as enjoyable as vaping in my opinion, but it sure is effective and lasts a long time.

I enjoyed your posts PhishCactus. I had a Cheeba Chew once and felt nothing. Turns out I have a pretty high tolerance. What type of affect did you get from the Cheeba Chew? Did you just eat one? The reason I ask is beause it will help me determine how the olive oil might affect me? Thanks
:)
