Add moisture to the weed before vaping it

Hi guys, I'm wondering... did anyone tried to add some kind of humidity to your weed before vaping it?

If we could add misture to our herb before vaping it, then our herb will have more vapor to give back...

Funny you ask this I just cleaned my grinder and it was stilll moist from the water. I ground up dry weed and left it in there for an hour, I wasn't at all planning this. I came back and its all moist and I couldnt even feel it when I vaped it. It was nice, weird this pops up right after I did it for the firs time

It's pretty common practice here to do just the opposite, that is, to dry out your bud before vaping, and while I used to do this, I found that I lost some flavor, so for me, I prefer to vape bud that has been well cured, but not purposely dried out prior to vaping.

Regarding adding moisture to your herb, yes, you will get more vapor, but that additional vapor is just water vapor...........steam, and adds nothing to either the high or the taste let alone the fact that you could be setting yourself up to be getting mold.

I find it when its wetter its a harsher hotter hit due to the water vapor. Its best to have material that is dry then wet. Everyone is different though

Also, some vvapes don't work well at all with moist herb (LB comes to mind) and almost all will give faster, thicker hits with dry bud. IME, moist bud is just harder to grind and takes a few unsatisfying hits to dry it out before it starts giving off good vapor.

I agree. Get your supply ground up before it gets so dry that it turns to powder when you grind, but don't try to rehydrate it.

Although I agree with lwien that dried out herb loses some taste, a harsher hit when moist is also a possibility, which is the reason for the moisture condenser in the iolite. All things considered, I don't dry mine any more than is necessary for easy grinding.

a few unsatisfying hits to dry it out
I usually find that it only requires one hit, and that's often where you get the best taste, so I wouldn't classify it as unsatisfying.

I only consume cured ganja.

if it has any moisture at all when procured then it will be dried fully and then cured

If the stems dont snap it has to much moisture to cure and mold may develop

Plus if you buy wet weed, where the stems are pliable you are buying water

1ml of water weighs 1 gram

I prefer to vape bud that has been well cured, but not purposely dried out prior to vaping.

I concure

I am not sure i fully agree about the flavor part. With certain strains i notice that if it is RE-moistened AFTER it has been cured, by adding a wet q tip or something it can enhance the flavor

It seems as if the minute water droplets in the vapor lend more ability to the flavor lingering and attaching to the tongue/palate

I agree that weed that is too dry is not fun, but why not rehydrate slightly ???

especially after stating

It's not worth it to me, just for a brief taste improvement, but as long as you don't overdo it.... You can definitely ruin your herb with mold by adding too much back.

Sure, but it won't get you any higher. At. All. :)

First of all, thank you guys for all the replies, I found all of them valuables.

Please let me clarify what was my intention when I proposed the idea:

I buy cured bud, sometimes I get bud with a lot of resin with gives me a good amount of vapor, but sometimes I get bud that seems too dry and usually I get less vapor from this ones.

I use a VaporStar and found that it's very easy to burn the herb when it's too dry, if the bud get too hot and there is no vapor to be released I found that it starts to turn brown and the odds of burning it goes up.

So... I thought that if I can add a little of moisture to the herb it would decrease the chances of burning it when it's too dry, and probably let me extract the last bit of thc without burning.

Maybe water is not the element to add, I don't know... maybe some kind of oil? No idea.

Anyway, I see a general agreement about not doing it (health risks are a very good reason) and it make sense to me. Probably the safest solution would be to only buy bud that has a lot of resin to convert to vapor...

So I got some herb that the guy said it was fresh and didn't have time to put in jars so I'm guessing he didn't cure it, I got it last night and it was pretty dry in my opinion. I tried vaping it and got no vapor but it wasn't turning brown from green.. I still got high but no vapor really. It was minuscule compared to the vapor I usually get. So I put a carrot in it overnight and its really moist now. Its still not getting my any vapor, not sure what to do. Any insight?

I'm in the middle of the bowl and I got 1 or 2 tiny vapor hits.. Yet the bud is still green as can be.

It is pretty tough to rehydrate mj w/o losing quality/flavor. The only good way, imo, is w/ fresh plant material. Growers use fresh material, non-growers use anything else. For me, too dry = too harsh. It is actually possible to properly cure flowers and retain some pliability/stick. There is a world of difference between curing and drying. I feel like I get the best vape on good sticky (not wet) flowers. If you don't have access to fresh material, I think a piece of tortilla works best to rehydrate - it doesn't impart flavor or oversaturate.

As long as the fresh material hasn't been dried beyond the point of no return, you can add back a limited amount of moisture with these. I just purchased 12, 8 gram packs, for $11.88 on e-bay. As long as my medicine is not in vacuum, one of these will be in the jar.

Depends on how dry your medicine is. I hate to admit this, but my provider this year laid a half pound of Leda Uno on me a week ago and it is dried to a fuckin' crisp. Yes, I am pissed. Well I had part of it in a quart mason jar, it sucked that 8 gram pack almost dry in less than a week. So the length of time they last depends on how hard you use them. So far I have just been buying these once a year but . . .

Okay... Let me reword my question. I usually only have a quarter oz at any one point in time. Are these overkill for me?

If your medicine is too moist, dry it out. vapor is actually an oil aerosol of sorts, if you are not getting vapor, it may be the quality of your meds?

Idk why I tried to moisten it, I did that and now its fluffy and a little moist, its not dense at all. It was sorta dry when I got it so I thought why not moisten it(sigh). Now its not vaping any better.. So should I dry it out?

Dry it out, with your vape or any other way, but dry it you will. If it still doesn't vape properly when dry, try looking at your medicine under magnification. The trichs, or lack thereof, should be a big clue. If your medicine is good and no vapor, then it must be your equipment.

Well it can't be my LSV because I tried some ABV of a different batch and it got me thicker vapor then a fresh bowl of this.. The vape does dry it, but still no vapor from when it is dry. It stll has trichs on it but not as much as usual.

EDIT: I just got a hit from it on around 3-4 o clock, I never have it that high and before that had it around 1-2 and got basically nothing. The hit I just had was basically nothing as well, I think I combusted or almost did. it tasted bad and it was close to black so I believe I did. So this can basically combust but it can't get me vapor?
