I could never cash a stem of good bud in 5 cycles.
If the vapor is thin heat a bit longer, there is a learning curve. Eventually it becomes instinctive, that is my experience.

I often take a load to french roast coffee colour. I never stir.
YMMV.
so how many cycles for a stem or half stem? I heat the whole cap except the tip and spin 360. How many back to back without cooling 100%?
I feel like I get better hits off my og glass model.

As many as it takes. :brow:
I'd say for me 8 to 12 using the same method as you. With the Blazer Firefox more with a smaller flame. It really depends a lot on the quality, load size doesn't seem to make that much difference.

I like/need/want the high temp compounds though. I decide partially on vapor quantity but also how did that hit hit me. I get some late low vapor hit that really smack hard. Not always though I suspect it is strain related, still figuring that one out.

I may be an outlier?

Pipe's IH's. He is in Canada.

Pipes Caldron would be a awesome first IH. It is wall powered and solid.
Sorry guys, my mistake. If you live in CA/USA and the shipping won't be too expensive (to some far away places the shipping is 75$ from CA!), it's the one to go with, has a warranty and high quality build as i heard, not just from you LP :rockon:

Not that SJK suck, but for the 25$-30$ (shipping included if you live CA/USA i guess) extra you can get something that has a premium build, and a device which you can expect that will make the job done for years.

@CalyxSmokr - Extraction has a lot to do with resolve. I can finish a finely ground vapcap bowl in 2 draws to dark ABV. By the same token, I can get 4-5 draws on the same load size if I back off. Counted in reheats - 4-5 is about normal if you are going for a full bake.

I am pretty sure @Planck is an outlier at 11-12 draws. But he is right in extracting that last little bit. Like Planck, I too need that 420'F medicine. Very tough to coax out of the flower.

I use Flickr as a host but I also manually extract the shareable link. There is a thread on the subject. Read the fine print when you sign up. Basically you loose all rights to your images by uploading but maintain all liability.

What style of lighter do you use, single, double, triple? I mostly use single flame as it gives me more precise temp control.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by heat the whole cap, but I tend to only heat certain "zones" on the cap depending on a number of factors.

If I want a flavor sesh aka gentle heating.

I start at zone A, heating for one heat cycle, then for each of the next heat cycles I move the flame down a little, till finally ending at zone B.
It could take anywhere from 8 -12 to heat cycles till I'm done.

If I'm after a speed sesh aka aggressive heating.

I start at zone B and stay there for all the heat cycles(although if I feel things are getting a bit too hot I will move my flame up a little bit towards zone A)
Normally its 3 - 4 heat cycles till I'm done.

Other variables are the quality of herb, grind consistency(from fine to whole nug), how dark you prefer your ABV/DCB and the amount of herb in the chamber.

Everyone does it a bit differently/develops their own style and the right way to do it...... is the way that suits your mood/needs. :smug: :peace:

Beautiful. That should breath a lot better.

If that is an '18-M I also spaced the cap from the tip with a strip of stainless steel flat wire bent in an S-shape. Others have filed little scallops in the bowl to let air in like the Ti tips and the '19-M. I still prefer the wire although it is an extra thing to manage when cleaning.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.

YMMV.

I tend to go the other way. I usually give up on a bowl when the vapor is subsiding but not gone completely. This is because the darker hits tend to irritate/burn my throat. I give it up before the hits get uncomfortable for me.

I will go a cycle or two longer in the late evenings, because the latter hits are more sedative. Nothing puts daddy to sleep like some good vc hits on my homegrown and well-aged Bubba Kush. I also let the trichs go all amber before I pulled it.

60 going on 20
I use a medium grind, pack fairly full, but not tight. I average 7-8 draws for most loads. When I’m just managing pain during the day, that can be three sessions out of one bowl. I stir when I go back for these sessions. At night, I’ll just hit a fresh load until it’s done.

Ordered my 2020 M today. Can't wait to try it out!

Mine is supposed to be arriving tomorrow.

The whole new unit will be cool to try out but I can't wait to take that 20 M tip and put it in my new vortex!

I'm hoping that THIS time I actually got a KarmaVap in the order. I ALWAYS miss out on it. lol
Been dying to send one to a buddy in Vermont. fingers crossed!

Happy Vaping! :leaf:

Sure, @Stu put me on the spot with that cool pic. LOL

Ok, Here's my Phantom Vortex with my Shadow M stainless steel tip n cap.
IMG-20200327-001234.jpg

The shadow M tip seems to perform better for me than the titanium tip in the vortex.

Making me all the more antsy about getting that 20 M in tomorrow. LOL

Also got another badass stem today, along with a very pretty and immensely useful CCD adjuster/remover/setter!

One of those AWESOME Moai Stems and an IST tool from @danielj!

I slapped an XL condenser with no mouthpiece into the stem and a titanium tip on the end and Vaped 1 capful through her. Very cool stem!

From here on in she goes up as a mantle centerpiece and probably one of the coolest conversation pieces I have up on a Shelf!

Thanks again, @danielj!

Happy Vaping! :leaf:
