During my first session with the Simrell stem+intercooler I wasn’t sure if it was that much better than a standard DV w/ condenser tube. Then I realized I had just cleared twice as much herb than usual in the same number of hits. I way overdid it. So I tried again later with my normal amount. That’s when I experienced the upgrade in vapor quality. After a few weeks of daily use, it’s obvious that Dynavapping is much easier on the throat with this stem. It's really noticeable with my CBD flower. I grind and pack 0.06 loads for a session. With the standard DV setup, the hemp vapor got very harsh a few hits in. The same load through the Simrell hardware feels more comfortable.
I also decided to keep putting cotton filters in my tip. That upgrades the vapor even more. Also greatly increases the cleaning interval of the stem and intercooler if you’re using ground herb.

My take is that the difference is un-percieveable, the mass of the Ti/condenser is so much
Larger than the small intercooler (altho if there is a vortex created, it may).
So, on the side of being positive, probably with.
Perhaps people can experiment, for the sake of science. My loaner is going home today.

And the wooden ones are kinda pricey around $150, no? Particularly if they're prone to cracking!
And didn't we just see an Instagram Live yesterday wherein Mr Simerell was proposing giving away pre-owned stems to those who can't afford them?
Cracking, and at $150 a pop, I'm pretty sure I can't afford them!
Who knows though, maybe the cracking thing is no longer an issue....maybe that's all been cleared up? Now if the $150 price tag can be addressed!?

Keeping it forever. You know those toys you buy and then eventually you stop caring about them or don't use them anymore? This is not one of those. In 10 years Ill still be grateful for this, maybe it's because I daily drove a standard VC stem for 3 years. I didn't want to have to mess with attachments to upgrade the vapor quality so I really appreciate this stem. I can only speak for myself though.

I got big hands baby I was thinking of getting one. Partially for the VAS tendency, but also for the supposed reduction in vapor harshness on the throat. I do like the look of them and also appreciate a condenserless device, but...
Some folks notice the difference in harshness while others apparently don't. I was looking to see if they would have a decent 420 sale and maybe the price would go down enough to justify the cost in my head. They are reduced to $126 for the regular Ti vortex from $150. However, if you paid the regular price then you also got free shipping. With the price below $150 you now have to pay an additional 10 bucks in shipping, which ends up being a savings of $14. Meh. I'm being stingy because I already bought some other things.
I have also been looking at the Andy Capp Ti stems, although those require a condenser. I hate those damn condenser o-rings. Those little bastards move all over the place when to try to insert the condenser.

The wooden ones have an integrated Ti condenser, which I'm assuming would be almost identical to that in the Ti vortex. AFAIK Austyn only makes vortexes (vortices?) now, no more regular stems.
