mighty owner here, but watching the tinymight thread. from everything I'm seeing, the tinymight shines at fast extraction; you can finish a .1-.2g load in 2 big hits if you want. there's no way the mighty could do that. the downside of the tinymight seems to be pretty typical for all-convection: you'll probably have to stir mid-way to avoid uneven ABV, but the jury's still out - I saw where one person said they figured out how to get even ABV without stirring - but didn't go into detail. given the tinymight's multiple settings, that's possible, but most of the early adopters seem more interested in huge hits than even ABV. it'll be interesting to see what Troy and Bud have to say - they'll definitely review it, probably soon, given the buzz.

in other words, if you want huge hits (the video referenced above has lots of coughing), and are ok with stirring, the tinymight might be for you. if you're more of a 'sipper', don't want to have to stir, the mighty's probably more up your alley. and don't forget: the mighty's purely a session vape, so if you want to take a hit now and then, not finish the load, the mighty's not a good choice.

it kind of looks to me like the tinymight might be less efficient, but we'll see. I consistently get ~12 hits from .15g in my mighty. I'd be curious to hear from tinymight owners; presumably, at lower settings, you can get more than 2 hits per bowl (if not those giant rips).

another possible contrast is portability. in its unmodified form, the tinymight is truly portable, but if you have to use a long stem to get the coolest vapor, it gets bigger. the mighty's vapor is plenty cool without any modifications.

if it turns out that you can get even ABV without stirring, cool vapor without a long stem, and it's as efficient as the mighty, I'll be sorely tempted to get a tinymight.

Accurate, with notable exceptions.

Yup.

I saw where one person said they figured out how to get even ABV without stirring - but didn't go into detail

ABV is pretty easy to get even if that's a concern. I've never stirred it once. Pack loose, just use one screen, use a capsule are all things that get even ABV.

Or just pack however the hell you want. Pull. Enjoys clouds. ABV is plenty even. Toss. Repeat.

it'll be interesting to see what Troy and Bud have to say

Bud didn't understand how to use it in his first video, and still liked it. Troy will love it because everyone does.

if it turns out that you can get even ABV without stirring, cool vapor without a long stem, and it's as efficient as the mighty

Yup. Just get one. Short stem and cooling unit is pretty cool vapor. Not quite MV1 cool but very pleasant.

You can't go wrong getting the Tiny Might. I sold my portables except a couple Pax 2's. I have barely used my Herbalizer or Evo since getting the Tiny Might. Yes, those three vaporizers deserve to be in the same sentence together....

Mmmmaybe, but that is a very subjective thing. The whole experience from both devices is just very different in my opinion, the Mighty being a 100% session vape for slow hybrid sessions, with a substantial warm-up time vs. the fast extracting TM, which is more of a on-demand device (though capable of being a session-device too), 100% convection, totally different draw restriction... I'm not saying one is better than the other, because, well, they are just very different kind of animals.

although you'll need 18650 batteries + good charger, plus the expense on the device, on-demand vapes are so great and convenient, that makes the decision easier. on-demand is the future of vaping.
ah, and almost 100% convection? yea.. go with TM :brow:

I'm only quoting @darbarikanada in case this is useful info...

I'm sure to order a Tinymight eventually since I have a use case for a more portable on demand convection device. That said, you can put a Splinter V2 or ZV2 together for around half the price of a Tinymight with the current 30% sale at RBT through the end of the month. A Splinter on a mod isn't truly portable because the ground glass joint is fragile and needs to be removed when not in use. That said, I'd take the most low end Splinter V1 paired with my favorite budget TC mod over a Mighty any day. I owned a Mighty for over a year and while the draw resistance is great the efficiency is not.

One hit from a Splinter, Tetra, or Tinymight is worth two or three from a Mighty or any of these hybrid/conduction session vapes. So from a practical standpoint, if your thread title was "Splinter or Mighty?" the followup question could be "Would you rather vape a bowl in four hits or ten?" The flavor from a session vape will never rival any of the on demand portables either.

My shopping list for anyone putting a Splinter together:

Splinter ZV2 or V2
XL8R cooling stems
Wismec RX Gen3 Dual
LG HG2 18650s

With the current sale the combo deal for a Splinter ZV2 and a V2 and a cooling stem is $97 shipped.

You mentioned "good charger". Just moments ago I posted a query on Ask FC about a good 2 battery charger to be used when traveling. Any suggestions?

Hey Bossman. You and S*itsnacks are responsible for me acquiring the Splinter. I can't thank you two enough. I'm thinking of getting yet another one. Is there any significant differences between the blackwood version and the more expensive versions e.g PurpleHeart?

Yes, I know this is the wrong thread.

bossman, I'm seeing $125 :hmm:,
which is still an outrageous deal.

PS - need quotes around what @darbarikanada said in your post to differentiate it from your thoughts.

The code jahbless takes an extra 30% off and is added automatically when you go to your cart.

I quoted Darb's whole post since she's not the OP but might like to know about the RBT sale since the Tinymight costs $250 plus stems and has a six week wait.

If it was me I would be going for the TM. Thing looks unreal. Seems to be where vaping is headed. And damn the flavour from convection vapes is just unreal in my opinion.

Convection only vapes kinda make me smile, i enjoy them, but it makes me load up and go again and i never seem to want to stop or lay back and enjoy the buzz. Even with stirring, tamping, drying out my grind, or any other assitance I can offer it.
Many people conclude that it must only be an "amazing convection flavor" that keeps them coming back for another hit or ten.

Hybrid like Crafty+ with a load of 0.08 to 0.1, I effortlessly get the most satisfying vapor I have ever got and without heat or burnt mouth, the harder i draw the nicer it feels, and I love the taste. After, I often say holy fuck as I am so impressed with the effects compared to anything ive tried. I can then put it down and truly enjoy the effects for half an hour, to an hour. The ABV is evenly dark brown, even before you dump it out and stir it all together!

I have issues with herb supply at times so convection only is not getting any of my enthusiasm lately, nor my vape budget. That is my experience your one might be different.

Many vapes that primarily use heated air seem to walk a fine line between all the extraction they can manage, and charring IMO.
Either way I am satisfied with my conclusions from my first statements.
Anyway, the Mighty/Crafty can be manipulated to extract very quickly but I have found that slower intake may get better effects overall.

Other TM put offs for me are, experiments with placement of load to assist eveness or lessen stirring, buying third party stems to help it work better or adapt to a water filter for heat and harshness and the chance these won't even fit, being careful of a glass stem, coil in the airpath, (anodized?) aluminium receptacle for hard glass stem sliding in and out, it doesn't look too portable to me, short stem = possibly too hot for me and long stem looks too big, the order waiting time is quickly growing and this is before one hiccup has thrown the program. I was warned to avoid newly christened makers on here for some reason, and I've had direct experience of dissappearing makers/websites before that bittered me.
The only postal service here will confiscate all batteries, so the replaceable battery feature raises issues for me.
Maybe there will be a better time to go buy the TM, when it has possibly caught up and established, for example I have waited for this to occur with Grasshopper for the last 5 years. And I think Hopper labs are more than just a one man thing!

And I recommend the Crafty+ over the Mighty at the moment. Due to improved performance and less potential for cracking over the years.
If it helps, there was up to 30% off at Black Friday and 20% off from the sb website, so 4/20 should be similar. Also the Mighty deals will be VERY cheap by then I think.
I hope you enjoy whichever vape you choose!

the tinymight... ...you can finish a .1-.2g load in 2 big hits if you want. there's no way the mighty could do that.

I agree with many of your thoughts, but there is a way the Mighty/Crafty can do that extremely well, I learned it from biohacker on here.
You need to heatsoak the loads but I used the method for a year or two.

I owned a Mighty for over a year and while the draw resistance is great the efficiency is not.
One hit from a Splinter, Tetra, or Tinymight is worth two or three from a Mighty or any of these hybrid/conduction session vapes.

I disagree,
You are possibly stating opinions as fact, and that's without much consideration for a good few factors.
I dont think you own or have tried a Tinymight yet so that statement is a stretch imo.

Ummm... have *you* tried the TM yet? That info might be drowned somewhere in the sea of assumptions you make. :-)

Convection vapes can be finicky at times if not executed properly in design. I was apart of the Haze Square debacle. And boy oh boy was that a debacle. As for the Tiny Might, I haven’t tried it, but appears to be well executed for any convection device I have seen.

I have one occasional use case where an on demand convection portable might work for me right now, but even that would be treating myself so I may never find the desire to buy one.
If the Hopper io turns out reliable and available it might work really good for that even with it's hot vapor over time.

I have read lots about TM, your many convincing posts too, and I have seen statements from other owners which appear to back up most of the thoughts which I already held. Just doesn’t help with my excitement levels!

I wish you many happy years with yours, and I hope one day there is a great vaporizer we can all agree on!
Enjoy!

...or just start to enjoy that we all enjoy different kind of vapes – I actually do. Part of why I keep wasting time with this topic is because I'm fascinated by how many different devices and ways of vaping exist. I'm not looking for vapes myself anymore (and wasn't even when I purchased the TM), and it's still so interesting for me to read about other devices, other experiences with them, what others want from a device. And you know what? That is actually a bit more enjoyable when you don't have to spent so much time with why a vape is not exactly what *you* want it to be. I never understood why people have to bash or even „smile“ about a device or a concept, knowing that this very device or concept is hitting just the spot for someone else. Just saying. Because I wish we would be able to enjoy other peoples honest enjoyment a bit more.

That was my point of posting here actually, everybody said get a Tinymight without much questions to OP, and in fact it was what I felt to be increasing misinformation about the Storz vapes that made me post.
I finished off my post by saying I hope you enjoy whichever vape you choose.
This basically means I dont mind what vape anybody chooses,
Just adding my honest opinions, which other people also agree on, where I felt they were worthwhile.

When I said convection only vapes make me smile I was referring partly to the effects and partly to the frenzy about flavor and the belief they are the holy grail.
Bear in mind I own two of them and there are others here who share my opinions.

I think the Crafty+ is my favorite and I'm done for now, I'm aware this is not a fashionable opinion at the moment!
Now I will stand aside to allow another 20 posters to recommend the TM.
As I said I hope you and everybody that buys one enjoys it and gets great service life, I had my mind mostly made up when I saw the picture first day so that's a personal thing maybe. And I do still think there might be a better time to buy one in the future.
Thanks for your thoughts on it.

@blackstone Yeah, you said that and I'm sure you didn't mean to exactly bash, but rather bring in another opinion to give this discussion more of a balance.

But you also made a ton of assumptions about the TM that are just plain wrong, and who needs that? I'm actually too tired to reply to all your arguments, but: the TM does not char or borderlines combustion, no matter how you pack it, you definitely do not need 3rd party stems to make it work „better“ at all, the stock stems work perfectly, the long and short stem are very close when it comes to cooling (which is mostly done by the cooling unit anyways), the stem does not touch the aluminum sleeve because it sits in a huge o ring that is holding it in its place, wpas are extra with most vaporizers and manufacturing tolerances are up to the glass maker, not the TM team, the growing waiting time primarily shows that this company is becoming pretty successful – remember this is after all still a young company, only a few months ago nobody even heard of them. And it's part of becoming bigger, which the company obviously is about to. Finally: coil in air path? How else is the air supposed to get heated up in a convection vape? :-)

When I said convection only vapes make me smile I was referring partly to the effects and partly to the frenzy about flavor and the belief they are the holy grail.
Bear in mind I own two of them and there are others here who share my opinions.

That's not an opinion, it's an assumption. The assumption is that the praise about the effects and flavor of a vape or kind of vape are not justified.

Btw: *my* favourite vaporizer is the Omni XL, a hybrid.

Exactly, this was my first ever, and maybe my last post about the device for a while and it was purely to put things out there that I had on my mind. Or why I wasn't getting excited too soon.
I broke two Solo stems before and spent a long time behaving like a museum curator looking after stems inside a plastic vault. Dont want that.
I'm not flamboyant or wasteful or hard on environment with ordering/shipping accessories and more that's all.
Once I hear one guy mention heat, it's too hot for me (short stem) and I believe I heard it.
I don't need WPA for my Crafty yet but I find convection drying to my gums.

Some of your opinions of the wait time and the company sound like assumptions too but what's wrong with those, I was trying to answer the OP about why I preferred to buy a Crafty+. And still prefer the thought of it.

Right away I can tell you there are convection vapes that use aluminium or glass heat exchangers, and elements that encapsulate the coil fully in ceramics or metals. That's without thinking too hard.

There is never any pressure to answer me quickly, and I do feel they were more my opinions than arguments.

If somebody assumes convection is the holy grail without saying who this is about, I may from time to time chime in to say that I feel a lttle different about this. I never said anybody was wrong about what works for them. This all about OP and we don't even know they have a certain preference or use case yet.
Hope you understand! Im so tired too, maybe we'll take a vape, entertainment and sleep break or four for a few days!
Enjoy your vapes!

Great devices but the Mighty is only portable because it doesn't have a cord.... its not pocket friendly unless you have big pockets, for me its enough when considering portability, and the TM is a solid Portable device

Cheers
