Anybody that has this issue with their Plenty should contact S&B ASAP.

I do not believe they are taking this seriously. I emailed them about it and all they wanted to say is that the Hybrid will be fixed soon. Either they ignored my question or they seem not to realize that it is a problem with the Plenty as well.

Kind of, yes. Even though they messed up. Big.

They basically invented the ‘medical vaporizer.’ Twenty years ago.

Everything they do is certified by TUV.

Their lab looks state of the art (someone posted this in the hybrid thread)

Personally, they took a dive, but they still have a chance to make it right.

However, I know what you mean. I don’t really trust Canopy.

This is true, they really are the ones that paved the way for herbal vaporization, aren't they? I sure hope they do right, but from what I'm seeing so far, I am very disappointed.

But it's like: how could they NOT know, ya know? I contacted them per your suggestion, just so I can say that I did my part, but they are the ones who should be speaking out about it. I'll let yall know how it goes.

Is the plenty chamber aluminum? I am reading that it is stainless steel. I don’t have one so I can’t check but I’m interested in getting one of its stainless steel. Anyone?

I’m pretty sure it’s aluminum. Where did you read it’s SS?

The filling chamber is S/S, the oven face it sits on is that aluminium shit, my filling chamber looks like new, the part it scapes against is scratched to pieces. (also covered in the grey dust).

I am really happy to see this issue finally coming to light.

I made a post on November 12th of 2018 on this forum in regards to the metallic dust shaving issue with the Plenty after only a few uses.

I hope my post about my experience with the Plenty back in 2018 helped steer some users away from daily driving the device as I doubt many wiped the device down after every use.

Hey thanks! I sure wish I would've seen that post back then. I can't believe S&B actually said that the metal flakes are normal!?

Yet another example of why you should never a trust a company who communicates with the public solely through Instagram photos.

And I have been wiping mine periodically ever since, still only a cosmetic problem for me as there is no way any dust could get through my overpacked loads.

Damn to secure the plenty chamber you only have to turn it half a dial or 2, people here are making it look like you rubbing two sandbelts against each other, for gods sake man stop drowning in a cup of water. Now S&B has to tell you to clean the chamber every now and then cause I've seen peope here claiming they haven't clean the chamber for months, what do you expect?

I'm going to second this comment. Since I've owned the Plenty, I've been very careful when I attach the whip/coil because the housing is plastic. I gently turn it until I feel contact, and then stop. Why reef down on it? I started wiping it down occasionally since all this started, and there is no dust.

Not only that, if their claim is true then you would not have the botton of the aluminum chamber nor aluminum base of the plenty left after a few months, you would not even be able to seal the chamber to the plenty's base because of the "grinding". Once again stop drowning in a cup of water.

Wondering where you heard S&B telling people to clean their Plenty chamber? Also wondering how a dirty chamber has anything to do with this. This is not the problem people are discussing. The issue people are talking about is not the chamber, it is aluminum part of the heating device it conects to is scratching.

It seems you have taken some things out of context and are not respecting other peoples experiences. This is not FAKE NEWS, every Plenty i have ever seen is scratched up at least a little on the aluminum heater whether you are careful or not.

Your theory about rubbing the aluminum to nonexistance is odd. There would never be a gap or loss of seal because the issue is that they are constantly touching/rubbing together. You would have to screw the chamber on past what the past threads would allow for this to happen.

Maybe your cool with inhaling aluminum. And its all us dumb snowflakes that don't. In that case, enjoy!

Hey S&M is not not forcing you to use their products you don't have to inhale their " "aluninum dust", and what's even funnier is that you have people complaining about this issue while admitting that weeks past by without cleaning the chamber, yeah the thing you put in your mouth. And I reapeat.

I just used my plenty, and when I turned the aluminum lid half a dial to secure the chamber I released million of dust particles ( which somehow escaped the friction of two aluminum lids) that made through the flower and liquid pad directly ro my lungs. I guess I only have a couple of months to live. I wonder if when I eat outside and they scrap the grill top there is metal dust in my food?

I think his point was that if you use a product you put in your mouth many times a day, and can't be arsed to clean the chamber, maybe you aren't all that concerned with what you suck into your mouth or your lungs. (Don't mean to put words in his mouth, that was my inference....but it's a pretty good point actually.)

I kinda see both sides of this. One hand, SB owes its customers the full attention to anything that could impact health. OTOH to my eyes it's not obvious that the action of removing/replacing the chamber is really generating any metallic dust on the heater ring (doesn't look like it on mine, but then, I haven't used mine a ton). It also just doesn't look like it's in the airpath to me.

I do think somewhere between concern and complete panic is the right territory here. SB should definitely address these concerns...if there's a problem they should fix it. If there isn't, they should demonstrate why users should have faith in the Plenty. I personally am not too exercised about it, but again, I haven't used mine a lot and I can understand the skittishness given the crap flying around the world of vaping and health these days (most of which, to me, is complete nonsense and hysterics, but that's just me maybe....).

Are they scrapping that aluminum grill top to create metal particles for you to inhale through a closed tube air path into your lungs? Ingesting through your GI system vs inhaling through your respiratory system isn’t that the same at all. Of course you can’t avoid breathing in all particulate matter in reality but what’s wrong with wanting to avoid as much as you can control? Especially when shelling out almost a grand on a top of the line “medical” device.
