The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Sounds good and glad to help.

Tell me a couple things about your sessions now. About how much herb do you use per session? How many sessions per day?

Shipping varies by what's ordered and the distance between you and I.

I do use flat fees, and if USPS charges more to deliver to you, I absorbed the difference.
I’m not completely sure how much herb I use per session. I have a utillian 721 that I use if that gives you an idea. Probably around .4 g per session? and I usually do about 4 sessions a day. :)

What temp will I get the smoothest hit on the q without throat irritation using the DDave mods with water piece?
The smoothest vapor I've experienced on an EQ is by bag inflation, then inhalation of bag contents through a water pipe.

If even further "smoothing" is needed, you can fill that water pipe with warm-to-very warm water. You'll take a hit to flavor, but gain an unbelievable smoothness.

Thanks for the details.

A few options that can handle the dose mentioned...
  1. The Original DDave Adapter - replaces cyclone bowl. Gain extraction performance and economy of herb usage.
  2. The 18mm Ultimate EQ Mod Kit - replaces cyclone bowl and all stock whip components. 4 drawing options (whip, water pipe, bag inflation, directly draw), and includes items that makes sessions easy to manage.
  3. The Legacy V3 18mm EQ Upgrade Kit. replaces cyclone bowl and includes 18mm Glass Filtered stem.

If you have questions on any (or all), let me know.

thanks! now, tell me, which is the best option? I’m assuming option #2? I’m not sure.

Option number two is the one with the most configuration options and versatility. It covers the functionality of options 1 and options 3, bringing additional functionality to the table.
thanks! :)

does option #2 have as good extraction performance as option #1?

how much did you all pay for your arizer extreme q’s? it’s at 195$ in canadian dollars on tvape.ca but I’m sure it goes lower than that on certain rare occasions. I check tvape’s site almost daily so I never miss a sale and I know it’s been on sale before, I just don’t remember for how much cuz I wasn’t looking to buy an arizer extreme q at that time. 195$ is doable, but I’d rather get a better price if I can.

that’s a really decent price. but I hate amazon. I vowed to never buy from amazon unless if it is the only retailer for something i’d like to buy because of their unfair and abusive exploitation of their employees. I saw this video of an amazon employee who had been in the military and had a difficult time finding a job after coming back from serving I don’t remember where. amazon accepted him and in the video he explained how he became suicidal because of how much amazon makes their employees work. that video kind of traumatized me. so far, I have always had alternatives from amazon. often costlier though. but I’d rather buy through another site that does ethical and responsible business even if it means it could cost me a little more. I can just wait til it goes on sale. haha sorry DDave, I know you meant to help me out, but amazon is just not an option for me. thanks anyways though. I appreciate it.

@Zander my friend, no one dislikes Amazon more than I. (After all, they were the unintended recipients of my inventory on several occasions, each resulting in lost inventory. How does glass disappear? It doesn't, it gets thrown away. To throw away someone else's package, regardless of vendor or consumer, is a crime.... )

Regardless of desire, you will use Amazon again and probably never even know it. Amazon AWS already hosts many internet services, and more will jump on the train once they learn that housing their servers in Amazon's cloud will take the hardware management woes out of their computing equations.

@Stu, you think VTAC interested in an upgrade? :peace:

It will surely be on sale for Black Friday, otherwise you can already get 15% off on the arizer.com site with coupon code ARIZER15, unless it's already on sale. I'm very tempted by one myself too, especially with the DDave mods.

Hi there! I’m new to this forum and hope that this post doesn’t break any rules or derail the flow of this thread but I need help!

I recently replaced the heater cover on my EQ. I made sure to watch tutorials on the proper steps to open and reassemble the unit, but...shock horror...it will not turn on. I have retraced my steps, and made sure that the ribbon and power latch were in place but to no luck.

Any tips?

This looks like a job for @CuckFumbustion .

If recollection serves me, he's a heater cover replacement expert!

Thanks for the referral!!
I've done nearly everything but replace the actual heater cover. But yes you are in the correct thread and there is some posts of others here who have been successful.

So when you power up the EQ, does the LED come up at all? Do you get any of the indicator lights? The EQ's transformer does need a little time to recharge. It is the power block and cord that plugs into the unit. Make sure that it's green first before powering up the unit. Fingers crossed is that the transformer drained itself while you was tinkering with the unit and needs time to catch up.

Still no luck? If you open up the EQ again perhaps do a systems check to see if the fan is plugged in. Or if the sensor in the heater is where it belongs. Or if the ribbon cable ejected itself when putting things back together. Hope this helps.

The power block seems to work perfectly and when I put it back together everything seems to fit in its right place...I think I might just have a defective one.

O.K. So did you have a working/semi working unit before replacing the heater cover? LCD and indicator lights came up beforehand? Then after the cover replacement it was not coming alive for you?

Now if the sensors aren't in a working heating cover proper, that might be a prob. What caused you to replace it in the first place? Possible an upgrade/replacement from the older one?

Some people, I've read, have put the heater cover on too tight and caused it to crack and run into problems as well. Or like you say perhaps you got a defective one. Just trying to narrow down the possibilities.

Exactly the LCD and indicator lights worked before the replacement. I replaced the original heater cover because it had cracked (still not too sure why).

Alright. So maybe take it apart one more time and inspect the heater cover or see if the sensors are misaligned. Some users, I've read had to fiddle with more than once to get it right. As you put things back be a little more cautious to not have anything slip out of place before putting the metal cover back on. I believe there is some sort of cloth wrap insulation that is used that might unseat things as well.

Does the HC resemble the older one you have or is it the other version only available as an aftermarket?

The cover seemed to have less fabric surround the glass.
O.K. Well I refreshed my memory and watched a few tutorials. You mentioned that the original one broke for no reason. Correct?
With the old broken HC it still powered up? Amirite? Just that you had to deal with a broken EQ.

I'm wondering if something did happen with the sensor wires or something with the electronics. There is two ribbon cables and a plug that need to be reinserted when putting everything back together. If there is some sort of break with that, then the unit won't 'boot up'. Maybe take the bottom off and inspect them and see if they are fully inserted. I wonder if it is possible to put them in backwards. :\

Say, Does your EQ have a warranty? How long have you had the unit? hope these questions helps.

Yeah! I I found the ribbon was always sitting kinda funny and no matter what I do it looks wonky when I take apart the unit. I have a warranty and think it’s time to just ship it off! So frustrating as my ddave mod kit came the same day as the cover replacement. Imagine my initial excitement then subsequent heartbreak
