Phattpiggies Wood Shed

Moses Baca

Colorado State Reformatory #8755
My wife and I switched over to vaping last December as an early healthier Christmas gift to ourselves. I wanted to celebrate our upcoming first anniversary of being smoke-free with something special. I've loved @phattpiggie's work since the first time I saw it so what could be better than a couple custom stems? I contacted him mid-April as I wanted to be sure I'd have them for our first 'vapiversary' and three months later they were in my mailbox.

I love them and they're even more beautiful in person! I changed directions a few times but PP was super easy to work with and very accommodating. I'll keep them hidden in my drawer until December but I'll pull them out occasionally, just to look at them. I'll look at my pictures here, too. :)

I've always loved koa and wanted something simple and elegant. I wasn't sure about my wife's stem. Phattpiggie was showing me some various shapes and mouthpieces and I saw the red faux stone. I remember seeing that one before, it reminded me of a lava lamp. That's the one, my wife loves red.

Some gratuitous crystal pictures, just for @Squiby. :)

PP also generously included two magnets! I had forgotten about those! They're fantastic, thank you again!

@Moses Baca You have a beautiful collection!!! Both the stems and your crystals!!!

What is the range on some of the pieces Phatpiggies makes? I would like to see if it is in my price range before I even approach him..
I suggest you contact @phattpiggie directly through a PM to discuss what you want. He'll tell you range of the pieces he sells and fix you up with a stunning stem of your very own.

Thank you @macca924, get in touch anytime.

@99944nt get in touch anytime, start prices are £70 shipped.
The majority of times there will be plenty of pictures and footage of the piece being made.

More than welcome @Moses Baca and thank you for the great pictures.

Put a video together of some of the work that got done over the last year, apologies to anyone I've missed.

A little something else I've been looking in to, hopefully once I'm back from vacation I can reveal all.

A challenge drilling this wood and the first blank ended up scrapped as the bit went for a wander.

Lignum Vitae, lovely wood to work with, paired with a synthetic amber 10mm MP. Brass and black accents.

All 3 sat together.

Something's don't make the grade in this case a lovely piece of Afzelia Xylay.
The accents didn't pull together as tight as they should have.

Not wanting to disappoint the 'Cruella' fans this Redback piece got done.
BW with silver, black and red accents with 10mm red acrylic MP. Gotta get some 'shits and giggles' pieces done occasionally.

162mm because that's how long the condenser was.

The condensers usually get hand sawn with a fine toothed hacksaw but it's a pain to do and not a task I enjoy.

So it was time for an upgrade, abrasive wheel chop saw and a jig make the job more bearable.

Especially when it's this many bits of tube.

Put together another IH in Buckeye with a Blackwood baseplate. Lipo powered.

First coat of wax is always a pleasure to apply especially with a piece of wood like this.

Very rare standard size stems come out of the shed and it felt a bit alien making something so short.
Bog Yew with brass accent and Casein Ivory 10mm MP built around the smaller OD condenser.

Fly down to Southern Spain tomorrow morning on a family holiday so 9 days of abstention ahead of me, be good to clear my mind and have a proper think on what to do with those 40 condensers.

Thank you @Xclerk the thinking cap is on. Got to get a bit of green in some of them for the recipient.

@Vaped2Space I'll be phoning the machine shop and booking a slot.

In the meantime here's a little taster of the project @Padriano @davesmith and myself have put together. No doubting it works just need to pull it all together and get it out to a couple of people for some feedback.
