Those look like the wider dimension of the HA tubes from top to bottom rather than gradually getting wider near the mouth. If the diameter of the ones @VAPEHUNTER found on Ebay are the same the joints may well fit in them.

@muunch could you share a link to the one above? Thanks.

Sorry this tube discussion is a little off topic, but just a little as many folks who buy the stems will really want a carrier for them.

Do you think it's okay to clean the XL8R with normal alcohol (the one to prepare liquor or food), 95% pure?
I wish I didn't have to use ISO!

I think so.
Indeed, you can let the result liquid dry on a plate to get a gummy kind of concentrate and keep playing with it.
I suggest using only a grain/rice or similar alcohol used for homemade brewery.
If I'm wrong, please correct me, I don't wanna poison nobody!

On the other hand, there's the easy trick of putting your glass stems in a cup of fat milk and microwave it at low temp for a couple of minutes and then your stems will be almost comp, ete clean and you'll get a yummy sunday morning coffee.
I barely feel a soft body effect, by the way

Ps: VAPEnsiero hahaha, good one!

You can use the same ethanol (95% food grade ethanol) to clean your stem(s) multiple times and then, when you have a significant amount of AVB you can make a tincture of the AVB and stem cleaning ethanol to make a pretty good tincture for sleep.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a stem for the splinter z with a glass screen?
Cheers

This week I received several cooling stems from @funkyjunky.

So far I used a Purple Heart medium length stem http://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_77&product_id=426 with the spikey glass inserts http://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_77&product_id=317

I can not believe that an $11 spikey stem could make such a difference. There is some draw resistance, but I don't mind it all. The hits are cool and it is only on the exhale that I realize the massive size of the hit I just took.

The capsule aspect of the stem gives you some versatility, too. If you are in PAIN and need to medicate now, you can use the capsule stem with the capsule open to the heater for quicker extractions or you can use the capsule closed and have a leisurely session or several on-demand sessions.

I also received a spikey bent stem. I have not tried the bent stem because the joint is too deep. It doesn't even fit in any of my Tubo products. If Teflon Tape is my only choice, I could try that, but shortening it would be cool. It is well made and the glass seems thicker than the standard bent stem.

Just a quick shout out to @funkyjunky & Company and all here for the new Nub stem.

I just received it (in 5 days from Switzerland) and used it last night. It can get warm if you take long hits one after the other but the cooling from the design of this stem is just wonderful.

I would have to say that the XL8R (long) cools better. But you will not find anything this size that cools so well. I would not take my OG Xl8R out of the house due to its size. The Nub is Perfect.

The glass is pretty thick I don't think it would survive a fall on a tile floor, but I would be very surprised if it broke on grass, carpet or even a wood deck.

Your luck may be different than mine so don't drop it at all is the best advice I can give.

EDIT: IMPORTANT INFO: This is a stem with a 22mm length which means it will not fit most Splinter models but works well with my Custom Splinter Z.

How did I miss this thread? Thanks everyone for posting, great read.

Ordered some cooling stems for the Tubo. The Nub, a beech capsule stem with the a-maze cooler and a spiked mouth piece. Oh, and ice stems for the E-Nano and a Dynavap beaded stem from Mistvape.

Can't wait to try this stuff out. Let's cool that shit down!

I just wrapped a couple of turns of PTFE tape outside the vapor path and the Nub now fits my Custom Splinter.
