Discontinued The Timber Elite by Vapwood

Roasting tube on left is walnut...on the right is blackwood.

As an FYI, I used a walnut conditioner that came with my Dreamwood Glows and it really helped bring out the figuring in the maple. I'm going to give it another coat today.
Cool, I like all the shades of Walnut and especially how dark brown it can get. I like how dark Blackwood is too but Walnut also has some more noticeable grain figuring which I enjoy.
My new Waple has the perfect balance of dark and medium to lighter shaded Walnut IMO. The tube in my pics is also Walnut but of a much lighter shade.

Thank you for the info. Happy conditioning and cheers my elite friend!

Not bad for shipping to Europe @Alex3oe! Happy you gave a great vape a home.

@DirtyD funny you should mention that, as today there was great progress on the *side project*. A viable design has come to life, but I am not in a place where I can say any more.

Been hot here, and I've been pushing it. This week, I'm in slow motion. Dog days of summer are ahead, and I'd better get into gear. Let's hope the heat and humidity ease up, as I seem to be sweating in my shop even with the AC on. Either way, we are full steam ahead on all fronts.

I'm a woodworker who ships *pen parts* all over the world @Wolf46. Selling turning blanks for pens is pretty common - a block of wood in a box, from WoodWorks of Long Island.

More side project work. The side stuff is especially important for me to help finance Elite parts (which can be pretty steep). Great thing about spreading out a bit is the stimulation of ideas. I would love to be able to *tone down* the Elite a bit, and actually build a simpler version (same board, coil, battery, performance), but a less intricate, time consuming wood work, so as to bring the price down. Maybe that'll be the Timber. There is an idea at the edge of my subconscious trying to cross over!

No, no offense taken at all. You said nothing to offend. I am just saying that my customers don't have much issue with customs that I'm aware of.

Love my customer base. I have a really good relationship with my customers. I believe there is a mutual trust that comes from my tendency to be an open book about my build process. I had to take a few days to work on a project that will hopefully fund many more Elites. I'm done for right now, package being sent of to the master himself - did I mention this was an @Alan collaboration?

But it's time to put my nose to the grindstone and start building and assembling Lil' Buds once again. I am planning on an early August ship date for the next batch, but I haven't closed it down yet - any day now.

I may be shut down this weekend, supposed to be 110 degrees on Long Island. My shop will never cool down - we'll see!

With a little manipulation, I will be in the shop today. I'm going to keep the August ship date open for a few more days, so if you want to get in on an August Elite, now's the time. To help make the decision easier, here's a quick code: AUGUSTELITE - save 15% on Maple, Cherry, Walnut Elite (complete and bare bones).

I am very excited to announce the Timber Elite by Vapwood. This is the third vape in the Vapwood line up following the Lil' Bud Classic, Elite and now Timber Elite.

While the Lil' Bud and Elite are a side by side (Elite is side by side by side) the Timber will feature a side by side DNA 75c control board and battery, with coil and wire box above (in its own section).

The Timber will utilize the same insta heat stainless steal coil and DNA 75c control board from Evolv. Here is a sneak peek at the first 3 prototypes. Full blown production starts in August. If there is enough interest, I'll take pre-orders now to fund parts. The Timber came together very quickly, in a few days actually, as its design is based very much on the Elite. The projected Timber price tag / pre-order price is $275.

Standing approximately 6 3/4 inches tall, 1 3/4 inches wide and an 1 1/8 thick (same as Lil' Bud). Battery compartment shown in unit on left, board compartment shown in unit on right. Plan is to place the fire button up top (middle of unit).

It's official, there is a Timber Elite thread in upcoming and unreleased! This bad boy will go into full production in August. Came together really quick as it is basically a reformatted Elite. Battery compartment, board compartment, and coil compartment will remain exactly the same as the Elite, with the exception of coil compartment sitting up top, instead of inline. Projected base price $275. The one advantage this will have over the Elite is isolated coil should keep the entire unit cooler. I have my ideas of what would be best, but any suggestions on vent hole placement?

I know one thing, I one want of these. I need to assemble a prototype asap for my own personal use. This bad boy kinda disappears with my hand around it. VAS has struck. I foresee a stubby tube and rounded upper. I need to detach, head is exploding with ideas. :tinfoil:

Yes, it's a tall boy without the stem. It sits stable because of the rectangular shape, and it will be slightly bottom heavy (battery heaviest part of the unit). I see myself lying this on its side on my end table. The benefit is how easy it is to wrap your hand around the unit. It feels like a small wand or baton. The battery compartment needs 75 mm with 10 mm on each end of it (total 95 or the height of the Elite), the coil needs 55 mm, and I can only shrink the wire compartment so much (15 mm now), so maybe it can shrink 1/8 to 1/4 in size.

Dedicating Timber to my original Lil' Bud, Reddy, shown in the picture below. Love you Reddy.

@beyond6strings Timmbbeerr!! It's here !!
I was working on a side project (not the Timber), pulling myself away from Lil' Bud assemblies, when I realized now is the time. The bottom 2/3 (95 mm) is exactly the Elite without the coil in between the battery and the board. There really isn't much to be done here. On top is the coil compartment. Today, I will be thinking about the final shape of the top compartment.

For more on Timber Elite, please check out the thread in the portable *upcoming and unreleased* section.

As I sit and sip this glorious morning, I can't help but marvel at the technology available, and how the cannabis / vape world has changed. The ability to convert flower to vapor is a miracle in and of itself, but to do it with such control is pretty off the chart. I have always been a watt control guy, loving it with a bit of preheat. I really do enjoy the combination of raw power with a high end cap, sprinkled with a few heat blasts. Quite remarkable.

After building a few Timber prototypes, I realize how incredibly compact the Elite is. With the Timber I have room to spread out my legs and arms and work under the hood, with the Elite I feel like a surgeon. Both have their place.

I said this in the Timber thread, but Timber is being dedicated to Reddy, my best friend of 4 years, who was the inspiration behind *Lil' Bud*. Miss you Buddy.

Very cool combo indeed my friend, @P.A.M. I think of you whenever I need some strength in dealing with Reddy. Thank you!

Holy shit was it hot in the city today. Just got home, hitting on my super dependable Elite, relaxing before company comes over. For me, the reliability is the ultimate OCD crusher, and keeps VAS at bay. I always KNOW what kind of session I'm going to get - every time. I remember the days when that was not the case.

When I started using my Elite the button stuck a bit so I sent it back to Mike. Came back and now... wow - what a great vaporizer. Feels like I haven't put it down in weeks. Any suggestions for how to clean out the roasting tube and screen?

Congratulations on your new Bud , Maddad , happy to hear Mike fixed your sticky situation. What a great vaporizer , you said it best in just a few words! Glad you enjoy it , it's ok to put it down , only as long as your iHeat is close by ! Lol.

I used to use a steel brush only , brush the screen off , now I torch it with a lighter prior to brushing it. (*** SAFETY NOTE **** make sure you use plyers or place screen on a safe surface , do not hold the screen bare hands and torch it , lol) ..

The stem/roasting tube I simply scrape the heavy stuff off and proceed to vaping . By scraping it could be pushing out the residue with a stick/dowel/umsharpened pencil , or scrape/dig around with a small tool/flat object/knife.

Someone on here or on LB Classic thread once mentioned lightly swabbing it with whiskey :brow:

You want to try avoid using water to clean your tube or avoid an excessive use /amount of ISO alcohol . Surely just 2-3 drops on a qtip and letting the tube dry good afterwards would be ok..

Wish this help.
