RBT Sprout

but i won't go anywhere if i need to bring more than two... imo there are better options than having to bring a duffel bag just for a vape, batteries, stems and weed just to keep it going... im minimalist...
Exactly. I love my Splinter Z, but if I'm going somewhere for a day or two, sometimes it's just easier for me to load up a doob tube of flower, and just use the Solo 2 belt clip to hold the Solo 2, the stem, and the doob tube. The tube will last me the battery life of the Solo 2, and vice versa. Good for like 5 days of vaping if I wanted.

This is a little bit of comparing apples to tennis balls. I could vape 15 stems in the Z by the time I did a solo session. Both my Z and solo are both powered by two 18650’s just one is a proprietary pack and the other swappable.

This is probably the best option for the “masses” it adds a level of safety to the Li-ion’s and as long as a common cell size is used it can still be serviceable in the future if for some reason the manufacturer ( RBT ) stopped production.

Agreed, smart solution is an integrated replaceable battery. This will make finding a quality battery paramount. but, if an 18650 is used with a pigtail and connector it would be fairly easy to field replace as long as getting to the battery isn't too much of a pain. Still feeling single button with multi-color LED as the method of user interface. Most likely will have a few modes like on-demand and session with some sort of variable heat selection (5 settings?) along with battery low indicator... what else? Is there a simple function that I am missing that would be valuable?

The heater and load cavity are designed. Prototype ceramic heater and load cavity will be made and bench tested. Once the heater and load chamber are optimized, the rest of the parts can be designed around them. Given that the Seed is of priority the Sprout will most likely drag out a while which is a good thing as good wine needs to age :)

Keep the feedback coming folks as RBT designs for you.

I must say, as I miss the "hang" on IG, these interactions seem much more productive, though sadly i have less to contribute when its all biz...

What about a battery sled? The sled is all the protection ect. and you can pop a few/or one exposed 18650 battery in it. That way if we have a battery go bad we can just get a few new ones and it would most likely be more cost effective for you too. Just lifted and thinking.

Definitely a fan of this, been pretty easy to use when done well enough from my perspective.

I'm reasonably red-green colorblind, and occasionally some vapes' LEDs have been too similar in color for me to easily tell the difference between one temperature and another. Different shades of red or different shades of green/yellow can do this sometimes.

Some vapes use multiple LEDs, like 1/2/3 lights, to represent the temperature level, and that's never been a problem.

If we're on a single LED, just being cognizant of us colorblind folk is appreciated :).

I'd definitely prefer to have a led and haptic feedback would be great. I think a hot swappable battery is a much better choice. Ii like the idea of an aluminum body for durability. I'm excited to see the progress.

This is very interesting. Agreed with sentiments on having removable 18650s.

I'm always more inclined to purchase something if it has removable 18650s or something along those lines.. Not generally a fan of battery packs internal/inaccessible batteries. Absolutely love that this will be a regulated device as well. Don't see many all inclusive units that are these days

Unrelated question; since this is going to be regulated, what kind of board is going to be in it? Or no clue yet?

What is your ultimate vape? What attributes does it have? What makes it better than the rest? What would it do that no other vape does?

@CrazyCory564 it will be a custom board for the vape. Just enough parts for just enough functions to make it so most people like it... what do most people like? Pods? integral cooling, functions underwater?

On demand, ability to macro or microdose, cheap user swappable battery, smallish/discreet portability, water compatibility, even roast without stirring, ability to use capsules if desired...those are the needs...the ultimate vape might have..shock absorption/drop proofness, solar/human powered charging possibility for off grid usage..pokey or cleaning tools built in..ability to use concentrates...that's all I got off the too of my head for now

Pods? Not sure what that means. Like, ecig pods? If so, I'd stay far away. That's the only familiarity I have with pods in vaping. Don't know if that's what you mean or not.

As for the board, basic protections and adjustable settings are really all that I care about at a base level, but the more in depth I can go with adjustments and fiddling the happier I am.

But along the lines of the ultimate vape.... Antispleen basically nailed it. Macro/micro doser is huge, stirring needs to go away (although I can see this being unavoidable with macro dosing).... Portability is the only thing I'm don't care one way or the other About, but since it's an all-inclusive self contained device anyway, I doubt that will be an issue unless it's as big as a tablet or something. Then again, I wear cargo's and carry a backpack, so portability isn't huge for me. I imagine it is for others.

Disagree with built in pokey stirring tool being needed if stirring isn't necessary, but it's always handy nonetheless.

Water compatabity is a MUST. Working underwater.... That I can live without. I'm assuming that bit was sarcasm, but honestly with you I never really know. Lol

Anyways, excited to see what you come up with in the future. Whether it's under the RBT name or a new venture entirely, I'm definitely keeping an eye out for upcoming stuff

Depending on what it's made of, a silicone cover/case could be an accessory to minimize damage from drops and clumsiness?

I'm just rambling here. Too early for me to be coherent

^^^ This plus integrated cooling. OH and of course the freight train of steam that RBT products are known for. Another vote for an onboard "poker" not a stir stick :brow:, for when we forget to clear our stems or capsules.

@Easywider I’d rather “poker” than stir too!
....I must be special. There's a difference? Or is this being said facetiously? I figured a stick was a stick, and could be used to poke or stir given it tapers off.

Legitimately asking. Not looking down at your specificity, although I am a little perplexed by it

Welcome to FC! It was a little off topic bater and perhaps a little FlowerPower!

Vape swap shop
Cross a Firewood 5 with an RBT heater, in a metal enclosure. That would be my ultimate vape.

The heptic feedback on FW works really well. An LED would also work, but you would have to be looking at the vape.

Hot swappable battery is an important feature for me. I dont own a single vape without one, and i dont want to start.

"Low battery indicator" battery meter would be better.

Size is really important. FW5 is so great beause it is truley pocket sized.

Yes! well minus the metal enclosure this is exactly how I was picturing my ultimate vape. A FW5 body with an RBT heater. Perfect size plus the fat clouds and great low temp hits.

I know everyone is really digging 100% convection but I think my dream vape would also have a hybrid heater. Some sort of radiant or conduction heat added to it. I've been rolling 100% convention for some time now and that constant dry heat really takes a toll on the body. Seems if you are a heavy user, cooling stems or water pieces are must have. We have a lot of really great heavy hitting potables available on the market right now but they all need some sort of "non portable" application to cool the vapour. :2c:

I agree, need to add some conduction to the mix. Portable convection is sucking on a hair dryer. Through water, no problem. That’s why I still think mighty is the king
