It is very rough yet but if anyone has time take a look. I'm open to suggestions.
I just explain how to load AF and give some basic settings.
Next I want to explain using the Aster RT and document how to navigate the various screens.
And of course give good numbers for the various settings.
The only things I noticed that you may want to add is within bullet-point E. & F.,...

For bullet E., checking the box to indicate PI-Regulaor Enabled.

And for bullet F., maybe also indicate to make sure Temperature Dominant is checked at the bottom of the Profile settings page.

Otherwise, I followed your steps and they are legit...

EDIT: does anyone know if the Autofire feature can be limited in time? Or is it autofire to infinity? I am hoping we can put a time limit on it... otherwise, yikes! The catastrophic possibilities!!!

Is it important to lock resistance in AF? I always do but I have no idea if it's necessary.

As I understood it, you always lock cold resistance for temp control, adjusting TCR for accuracy... For Splinters/Tubo

I also thought ArcticFox new autofire was limited to 60sec? No idea if it is just a minute always or if you can adjust it... Don't have my AsterRT yet of course

I used your settings for my morning sesh. I feel that the morning sesh is golden for testing out new vapes and settings as effects are not as nuanced first thing in the a.m. for me.

I found it slightly cool, but instead of upping my ohms, I increased my temp midway from 200 to 218, stepping in 2 degree increments. 218 seems to be spot-on for what I'm used to and am looking for in terms of mouth-temp-sensing, if that makes sense. At 218, I'm getting nice even browning without hotspots.

I let it cool down to ambient temp, then ran autofire (60s) without a stem and in the dark to check for coil glowing,... There was zero glowing which is friggin awesome!

Overall, I am delighted with the results. I don't think I'm gonna mess with the resistance but instead stick to manipulating coil temp. In the AF settings, you can indicate what you want as your first and second lines in the display. I chose Coil Temp as line 1 and resistance as line 2, so I can quickly ensure it is locked.

Having terrific results with new Arctic Fox firmware on Sinuous P80!

Power= 50w
Resistance: 0.026 ohms
Autofire = 2 Clicks
Autofire time = 60 seconds
I run
P= 900
I = 20

No overshoot, very little fluctuations.

At 235°C over one minute from a fully charged battery at 4.1v and normal use in a session with a half dozen hits, the device gets quite hot, with the board getting up to 60°C. I'd recommend letting the device cool down after a one minute session at this temperature. The heat-up time is between 3-6 seconds. Super fast!

You may see it in the above graph! The light green shows the jump in power output due to the hits.
Light red is current temp and dark red is set temp.

Overall, great upgrade to sur_myEvic! The 60 second timer is perfect since infinite scared me (and I've scorched accidentally) and being able to use up to 50w is also great news. Easier to modify settings with the desktop applet too.

Great success! Now I only wish there was a mod that supports AF with USB-C. Whatever!

Man, there is a mini version of the Imp now! I’ve haven’t logged in for a while. I still love my Imp and I use mine all the time. I have the straight tube version and it’s still great. It’s the only vape I use for when I am in the mood for a session.

In settings/clicks you choose autofire for 2 clicks for example. Than you set the general cut-off time to the max that is 60 sec.

I found all the autofire controls. It seems that this is a "global" setting and it affects all profiles. Haven't tested this yet but has anyone else looked at it.
I thought it would be useful to be able to set the temp higher but the autofire shorter in one profile and then the next profile would be lower temp and longer autofire. Doesn't seem to work this way though.

with the new AF firmware, i now understand what i was missing out on without cruise mode... can't believe what a difference it makes. i had to lower my tcr 5 points and even use a lower temperature at maximum, so it seems having plenty of heat stored up is key to getting the most out of the imp.

i only let the full 60 seconds go through once (maybe twice) at lower temperatures as that's enough to warm up the unit enough for the rest of the session. i found locking in only one temperature for the entire session doesn't work well as too low and there will be loads of unvaped material left over and too high and the first hit or two becomes too massive that the rest of the session is diminished. right now, i can get consistent amounts of vapor pretty much the whole way through for 7 or 8 hits+... so generally one temperature setting = 1 hit.

i also turned off my preheat to conserve power... sustaining max temperature without drawing only uses 13 watts, so i figure that can't be much worse for the batteries than spiking the wattage for a quick preheat. there is less need for preheat as well when there is more leftover radiant heat, so ramp up time is non-existent..... i'm sure it exists but you know how time dilation gets...

the imp accessory kit i bought to celebrate the release of the new AF firmware arrived today. (received a tracking number an hour after the order was placed!)

the dosing stems are huge, both figuratively and literally. there may be times when i won't want to dose the entire pod but having the option to take things to another level is always welcome.

i was mainly planning on using the wooden dosing stem for outdoors when it would be easier to carry around in my pocket... but i just had a test run on it and it improves the overall experience of the imp so much i will probably end up using it all the time.

there were some initial worries that the shorter length would make for a hotter vape but that isnt the case at all. i think the way the stem becomes fused with the body of the imp into one cohesive homogeneous unit allows the heat to be contained lower towards the coils. with glass and it's higher conductivity a lot of the heat ends up building towards the top of the stem, leaving a smaller area of safe space to take those higher temp hits.

with the wood dosing stem, the entire mouthpiece feels relatively cool. in addition, the location of the bore on the wood tip seems to hit a nice meaty spot in the back of the throat that can take more heat than the upper gums.

everything feels much more immediate with the shorter length of the wood stem...and i can see how the imp with it's headroom to provide a strong, high temp hit without being uncomfortably dry or hot, naturally led to the development of the impcognito.

the fit between the wood stem and the body is also perfect. buttery smooth with just enough traction to keep things firmly in place.

what is the recommended way to keep the wood stem clean? qtip with iso?

it's awesome how @mistvaporizer has been able to combine years of woodworking experience with the available technology today to deliver a premier vaping experience. thank you sir!

Anyone in EU want to order some stuff like dosing caps and whatever? Shipping and duties suck and I'd be willing to pair up with someone to get our gear shipped to one address to cut down on costs and then use EU-sided shipping afterwards. I'd probably ship to Germany.

Actually I've had two shipments to Germany returned to me. I reshipped them and the second time they were delivered.
Check with @Some-new-user
He is working with Urbanistic and they are carrying our products. I'm guessing they will get whatever you need and are shipping from the uk
@dagfp i had good results loading just 35 mg in the dosing caps and also packing them to the max 185 mg.

Hi,

@Some-new-user was me. I had to give up my personal account in order to obtain the retailer status and have my name displayed correctly. I am dealing with all of urbanistic social media accounts. My real name is Adrian.

If there is anything we can help with please feel free to contact me on here.

I'm refraining from going any further to adhere to the terms on here - the mods have only recently KINDLY allowed retailers to post on public forums and I don't want to ruin it for everyone.

Thanks

hi everyone!V My Imp is on its way and was wondering what mod can you recommend? How about the LUXE 220W TC Box Mod or the GeekVape Aegis Solo Mod? Thankz

I'm not very knowledgeable on the all different options unfortunately and don't know about the 2 that you mentioned.

That said, I would recommend getting a mod that can either run Arctic Fox or Tubo so that you can use cruise mode (aka auto fire). I run mine on an Eleaf Ikonn and it works just fine. It's pretty efficient so dual battery served my purposes well.

So something like the sinous P80?

The P80 does not support either Arctic Fox or Tubo firmware. I have a P80 and its a good mod but I have it hooked up to a vape in which I don't use cruise control or temp control for that matter. Again, I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to mods. The ability for Arctic Fox to do cruise mode is actually quite new. I just flashed both my Ikonn and Aster RT with it and its improved them both significantly.

EDIT: I have been corrected. The P80 does support AF firmware.

Thanks, I'm new to this type of vape and don't know anything about battery mods...I'm just a blunt/joint stoner
