Please let me ask you again, have you tried it with water ?

Am I mistaking or Is that WATER at the bottom of the tube in their very OWN photo ? :rant:https://vapefiend.co.uk/products/milaana-cooling-mouthpiece

It is built to accept water... Either it doesn't work too good with water or simply a "safety precaution" (it could drip or leak into Heater maybe)

Dare the dream !

I might dare it , if I can get over the water pic and them suggesting otherwise ... thanks for te source @Alex3oe (@Bravesst , you tagged the wrong joe in your post ;) )

Vapefiend has a similarly priced vapor cooler that uses water: https://vapefiend.co.uk/products/splinter-water-tool.

Of the two "stems" mentioned I use the dry one probably 50 times for every time I use the "water tool" stem.

Good Morning Cannabis Lovers
Things are looking up, up, up in Vapwood. The Lil' Bud Elite has been getting noticed. Web traffic has picked up quite a bit, and both the Classic and Elite threads remain popular. When peeking around at *other* forums, LB finds his way into many discussions. I always think to myself, "How can the Elite not be one of the top vape on the market today?" Then I realize, it's only existed for six months.

There are many quality vaporizers out there today. Every user has individual preferences, and no vape can be everything to everybody, but the Elite can check all your boxes if you're a portable, on demand, convection snob, and love the purity and beauty of handcrafted hardwood.

On a side note, the manufacturer (me) is feeling much better, past this nasty little cold. I'm healthy as a fucking horse and ready to build the shit out of some Elites! I actually can't wait to finish shaping this batch. I've mentioned my *edge management system*, but this is really no joke, and will impact the beauty of your Buds.

When planing a rounded edge, you first create a multi-faceted series of straight edges. Planing isn't practical here, as the unit needs to stay square until it is cut to size, and planing a small piece of stock is not ideal, but I've come to realize that the same strategy for consistency works on a belt sander. The four long edges are most important (short edges just get broken, no actually rounded). Using a 90 degree stop, edges are taken down flat first, at about 3/32" in three passes per angle (at three or four different angles) with 320 grit sandpaper, applying just the right amount of even pressure. A visual check on the edges verifies all is well. Next, a simple rotary motion over the mutli facets produces a very smooth quarter round corner. This applies to both the front and back of the Elite at the cover plate and back plate. All of this is done after the back plates, but before the cover plates are installed. All sanding eventually comes down to sand sponges and sand paper, but that will happen as the cover plates are installed / fitted.

If that was too much detail, just know it's all about making the Elite even prettier.

Hello All,

Waple, waple, waple... the *wantwaple* coupon code has been used many times. I'm going to have to pull it in a day or two, but I need to create some balance. How does a limited time sale on everything but the Waple sound?
15% FLASH SALE on Maple, Cherry, Walnut, and Koa / coupon code: *NOWAPLE* - the code should work on both *Bare Bones* and *Complete* Elite packages.

Guilty...I took the plunge today. Thank you very much for extending that discount.

Very much looking forward to trying out the LB Elite.

All aboard the Elite Express

Good morning. Nothing like a little 15% off to spark some sales. My new *summer assembly / shipping policy* is being called into play. I will do my best to adhere to it, but life happens.

VAPWOOD ASSEMBLY / SHIPPING POLICY SUMMER 2019
All orders placed (or that I become aware of) during the first two weeks of the month will DEFINITELY make the cut off for assembly that month. Orders placed during the third week will PROBABLY make the cut off. All orders placed during the last week of the month will NOT make the cut off, and be final assembled and shipped the following month. I will keep to the under four week shipping as closely as I can.

Now is the time in the build process, I have to start thinking about cover plates. The cover plate / DNA 75c integration was the biggest step in making the Elite possible. My plan was to marry the board to the plate independently of the unit, then take the modular, functional *plate / board* and mount that into the body of the Elite. The cover plate has seven very precise holes that I cut with a drill press and x / y axis vice, as well as a trim router and custom template. The key to perfect cover plates is a perfect layout, and that's where my templates come into play. After the holes are bored and routed, the under mounts need to be carved out on the router table, providing clearance for the board. Then, plates are tested on a board for fit and function, and fit to the pre-assembly. Damn the cover plates are a lot of work!

EDIT:
Just placed a nice size order of DNA 75C boards, by far the priciest thing I buy. I get *antsy* if I get low on boards (VPAS - vapor parts acquisition syndrome).

Holy fuck does the mega-mega batch look incredible. I had to spend some time on a little side venture*, but got back on my sanding and shaping track. Don't underestimate that Cherry unit (at right), once a drop of beeswax hits it, it'll pop, and will darken down naturally in a few weeks time.

*Side Venture: While still building in the vape world, I'm working on something I've never done before on 2 different levels. That's the only hints I can drop right now.

Here's a little sample of mega-mega...

Good early morning!!!

Today, is going to be one productive day in the shop. In addition to finishing off the shaping of mega-mega batch, it's time to start work on cover plates. While I've gotten quite efficient at forming the intricate cover plate, I need to make at least 30, and that's a lot of work. Today's the day I start. While we're hitting mid-June, I'm still on track for end of month assembly for all outstanding orders. Depending upon sales, on or about the 2oth of the month, the projected ship date for both the Classic and Elite will shift to July.

I'm confident that the Elite will be getting more and more exposure in the upcoming months. The Classic, as awesome as it is, is a very niche vape, landing in the hands of those willing to do the work to get the results. The Elite fills a different void, and doesn't require nearly as much work. By marrying up the state of the art insta heat coil with a built in all wood mod box, equipped with one of the best (if not the best) vaporizer control boards available today, you no longer have to buy a 510 device AND a mod box. It's all included. Nice void to fill...

The coupon codes are all about me buying stock to prepare for the growth of Vapwood.

Not that I didn't realize how much of an *all-in-one* the Elite is, but I've never really mentioned it before on the forum. I had a conversation with a vape retailer the other day, and that was his take on it, what sets us apart. The Elite is quite unique, pretty much the vision of @Alan, carried out and tweaked to infinity by Vapwood (me).

When building this unit, I knew we had something special. The evolution of the build process from the simple Classic to the much more involved process of the Elite with board and cover plate, would have been beyond my capabilities a couple of years ago. However, I embraced the seemingly over my head job of putting this together, and enter the custom cover plate. That single design is what allowed the transition from Classic to Elite.

When I say buying parts to build vapes is a *syndrome*, I'm not kidding. This morning I purchased six different types of screws and some magnets - what a rush!. I love the feeling of buying, receiving in the mail, unpacking and storing, and eventually installing, every part. Being phat with parts keeps me smiling all day.

All units are shaped by machine. My head is vibrating from the sanding belt (yes, I wear ear protection). Now is the perfect time to switch gears and build cover plates, then come back to the finish process as all the plates are paired to the units. I'll probably be doing this right up till call it on the June batch and start assembling (estimating about a week). I hope to have all the cover plates installed by then, and that is how they'll sit until assigned to an order. Then it's final finish, beeswax, and assembly.

EDIT: Done laying out 30 cover plates. I rebuilt my cover plate template first, probably sped things up in the long run, as this one is easier to use. Laying out walnut is difficult due to the dark color and pencil and pilot holes not showing up as well. I've tried color pencils, but for super accurate stuff like this, I'm not using a waxy pencil. I'll deal with the eye strain. Another reason to love cherry.

My hat's off to you, sir.
That set up makes for a nice pic, of wood, on wood, with wood.

The number one cosmetic improvement has come from the belt sander, or rather my ability to utilize this vital wood-vape shop machine. With anywhere from 80 to 400 grit, I'm normally at 220 or 320. Even though 220 is fine, our vapes are even finer, and I treat 220 like a medium grid, and can use it for lots of material removal. The sanding belt serves as a planer on these small parts, easily flattening all surfaces smooth. It also acts as a shaper, allowing me to round the four long edges and break the four short edges (corners are done by hand). I have to admit, my finger tips on my right hand are a bit scuffed up from all the sanding.

I've also have mastered aligning, cutting, finishing the mortise for the control board and cover plate. With some real care (and lots of practice), the fine joinery is really coming to together on this batch. I feel I am now able to predict with relative certainty, the outcome of every process, and that spells consistency, the true marker of excellence.

Coupon Code *nowaple* extended until Sunday midnight. Save 15% site wide.

I am an admitted wattage control guy. TC is an amazing feature, but I like controlling temp myself. I was locked into 25 watts for a long time, with great results. I'm not sure what happened, but I found myself bumping up to 27, 28, even 29 watts. I'm also finding my weed to not be getting as dry. Of course I store in c vaults with boveda 62, and dry under a light bulb, but I keep my stuff in my basement shop, and it's Long Island, with rising humidity. I may need a hotter bulb, because even after leaving under the heat all day, my product isn't crumbling super easily. Wet weed needs a bit more oomph, and a slight bump handles it easily. I was just wondering why.

I find I really like Watt booster mode. Keep it at 27 Watts, and use boost to give that extra bit of roast when I want it..not too mention helps on less dry flower. I just love big clouds.....

Cover plates all routed and drilled, all told about 50 plates with screen hole (3 router passes), usb port (3 router passes), 4 buttons holes (drilled), and a charging light hole (drilled). I spent most of the day on this. I still need to route out the under belly of the plate to form the mounting tabs for both the board to be mounted to the plate, and the plate to be mounted to the unit. I was doing that on the table saw (way too much work), but have developed a method to safely make these cuts on the router table, which is faster, neater, and more accurate. The the screen hole and usb need to be filed square, and the button holes need to be opened a hair. Building the cover plate was, at one time, very intimidating. While it's a lot of work, it's what really makes the Elite work.

@nonbeliever , we have that in common, loving watt booster mode. I find it easy to really milk a load that way.

Not to familiar with DNA chips does the Elite have a cruise mode or an 10+sec cut-off? Not that a vape needs those but I find at least having a longer cut-off makes it easier.

Cool thanks! 20s is certainly enough, my interest in the Elite continues...
As it should...like a premium 510 vape, with a much shorter form factor. Performance on par with iHeat and a touch more consistent than a Splinter. And just cool as shit to hold in your hand and a pleasure to use and peruse. Part of my go to collection at home and an occasional companion when out.

What's cool about the Elite @PaperClouds is the ability to adjust everything, even that. With the escribe software, you can set cut off time. Pre set from the factory it is 10 seconds, but I set it to 20. Many of the factory settings have been tweaked (thanks to @HerbieVonVapster ) specifically for the Elite. That includes cut off, mod resistance, case temp, TCR values, and more. The Evolv board is quite adaptable.

Damn if I feel like Henry Ford, experiencing the concept of an assembly line. Working with a batch this size, involves many repetitive tasks. After my 500th hole bored yesterday, half with handheld router, I realized this was quite the task. I've learned how to move efficiently, flowing from task to task. With this many reps, every aspect of the process can be streamlined for an overall savings of work, and even more consistent results.

@mucsusn I love the Elite at home. Works well at and about, but I love the Elite as my *arm chair* vape. A small ash tray, a full battery, doob tube, stir tool and I have hours and hours of vaping. I have grown to enjoy the process, and I believe that's because the Elite has taken all the mystery and frustration out of the equation.

Ok I think I finally need to try one of these. I've got some extra stems for my OG Milaana, but please enlighten me if there are any other essentials I need.

@Bravesst Is there a location where I can view the units by wood type? I don't know enough to distinguish some of them. Some, like Maple/Cherry are easier to pick out than others.

Also, the "nowaple" code doesn't seem to be working; I keep getting an Invalid Coupon error.
