What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

Stop it... ;)

That was actually my first choice until I realized that I didn't want a 3 battery mod. I was this close µ to getting it. There are many more choices in 3 battery mods.

Could you divulge your opinion on top two in both the 2 and 3 battery mod option for the splinter.

I'm really not qualified to answer that question as all of my knowledge has come from reading in here rather than first hand. I think I have only held one or 2 mods in my hand other than the 2 I have bought, the RX 2/3 from Wismec and the VT75D from HCigar.
That being said I wanted the RX250LE because I thought it's copper/brass look was beautiful and almost bought it as my DNA mod, but having the RX 2/3 I was able to try a 3 battery mod and didn't really like the weight, so I always use the 2/3 in 2 battery config and eliminated the LE from my list.
So far I have been very happy with the VT75D and appreciate that it has the DNAc chip over the older one as I do like the color and bigger screen. It has become a little difficult to find as it was discontinued some time ago...

I only have Splinters. The VT75D is great and still $87 at GearBest. It's discontinued and getting hard to find. The Lost Vape Paranormal is better made but heavier and doesn't fit the Splinter as well. My favorite TC mod is the Wismec RX Gen3 Dual. Folks here really like the Sinuous P80 for a single cell TC mod. With TC mods people generally stick to the list of mods that run the sur_myevic firmware.

I'd like to put in a plug for the Joyetech eVic Primo Mini or SE as a non-DNA, single battery mod. (The Mini and SE are virtually identical, with the Mini having a slightly bigger screen.) The Mini/SE is exactly the same height as the P80, but is a little thinner and a tiny bit deeper, and it has a very pleasing slight egg shape when viewed from the top, which fits the hand nicely and makes it feel smaller than the P80. (By comparison, I find the P80 to be a little chunky and a little clicky, and it's so symmetrical that I often try to click the wrong side.)

The Primo mates beautifully with an Imp and a Sai, and using sur_myevic I get the same performance I get from a P80. But a Splinter overhangs asymmetrically and seems to fit the P80 much better.

I really like my Reuleaux 250s (3 battery) and Paranormals (2 battery). Don't get me wrong, other mods will work just as well in wattage mode which is what I typically run now but in my opinion, a lot of what you're paying for is build quality and aesthetics. I like my P80 since its so small but I hate the way it fires. I much prefer the solid clicky buttons on my preferred mods. Is this worth the price difference? Only you can answer that question. I can just say that between the mods that I have, I prefer the pricier ones and I promise that I wish I didn't. I would also say that if I had to choose again, I would get a mod that supports TuboMyEvic firmware. I very much prefer that over Sur_MyEvic. Either way, I rarely get the itch to run my mods in TC mode so its that big of a deal. But if you're considering flashing firmware, its something to consider.

That's just another cartridge battery like a Ccell Palm or whatever
http://www.vapir.com/air2-vaporizer-battery does have variable voltage , so I thought some might feel good about using it.
I still find that of a half dozen legitimate box mods, that the following:
Has been the most reliable for use with all of the on demand 510 convection vapes I have been privileged to test.
It has lasted the longest and been my favorite.

Just wondering: I see a lot of users like the rxg3d. I have the rx2/3 and wonder how they compare. I'm thinking of getting another box mod. I like my P80 but am curious about the rxg3d since people talk about it being their favorite.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a paucity of DNA mods out there, especially the 75 watt chip?

I want a box mod to branch out into the RBT 510 vaporizers, as well a Sai for concentrates......but I haven't had the time to do my research properly, aside from reading this thread...and I see soooooooo many mods thrown around as being good...and most seem to be from sources I would only expect to get generic knockoff products from (alibaba, etc). I don't know where to start.

Is there a good place that reviews these mods and has good side by side comparisons.
They all have their own pros and cons listed, but I don't even know which of those matter and which are advertising bullshit.

The Wismec Reuleaux series seems to be one that a lot of people use, but I don't see anything in their product descriptions about the DNA-whatever chips so many say are good, since you can upgrade the software and/or firmware. So maybe Wismec not so good?

The mod space sucks IMO. Tons of companies release a seemingly endless stream of mods with minor variations. None of them are specifically designed for cannabis vapes and most of the e-cig reviewers on YouTube are insufferable.

For reviews I watch Vaping With Vic on YouTube. The guy is methodical and no nonsense. However he’s still reviewing for an ecig audience so not everything he says or everything he recommends is valid for cannabis vapes.

Wismec is a very well known mod company and their stuff is for the most part good. I saw someone in the classified forum selling an HCigar DNA mod that many here love, you may want to check that out. They’re selling a Splinter with it as well, so you could get everything you need all at once.

One mod you want to avoid since more than a couple of us had a problem with one of the 4 batteries getting eaten up by the mod to the point that some of us lost cells before we realized this mod ate batteries whether it was on or off.

AVOID THE RX300.
Besides that model, I am unaware of any model specific issue.

There were also some mentions that the Wismec 510 connection was weak and it certainly looks that way in comparison to the HCigar I own. That said a 3 battery mod does not have any issue generating the current needed, whereas when my HCigar batteries get below 60% it is my perception that performance drops.. either that or by the time I get there I am too fadded to know any better.
