Do miss the "steamroller" design, porthole window and quick wipedown cleaning...taste was pretty delightful. More aesthetic than practical imo. Maybe worth a try, but don't have extra $$ to waste on a clone when there are superior affordable convections out there as others here have noted.

Suspicious also of merging or forfeiting companies. Recall the Haze Square debacle (although still driving mine). Still, may need more fireworks than firmware from FF+ to hook me

Pay no mind to those voices in my head
I gotta agree. Mostly because I bought the ff2 back when it was first released, and it was expensive. Mine is still working well provided I have a working battery. If they offered some sort of upgrade program maybe, but there are other vapes I have interest in more than a second somewhat improved ff2.
I totally agree as well. I own both the FF1 and 2. Still use both but the FF2 needs a battery charge after six draws or else I get the much discussed red light treatment. I sent it in for repair, but it was returned in the same condition. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE KILLS FUTURE SALES in my book!

I hate to say it as i also owned a FF1 and FF2 but I think their best days are behind them. I consider myself lucky to have sold my FF2 just days before they posted the infamous splash page which definetly had the feel of a thanks for the memories and goodbye message.

I still have my FF1 with two FF2 batteries which i use sparingly on weekends or special occasions ... i always thought the FF1 tasted better with flower anyway as compared to my FF2

I was looking forward to a new product offering but can't in any way get excited by a FF2+ and that new logo made me sick ... but I'll keep my eye on them if i ever go the concentrate route ...

FF2 hands down best flavor. The path is so short you get all those Terps preserved. The only thing wrong with it was the air flow. And I think the restricted air flow caused for stiring during sessions. I've owned mine for 3 years now and used it heavy in my rotation and it's a performer and get the job done quick. Never had battery issues at all so I really can't relate there. Idk if I will grab the FF2 plus right away though maybe I'll wait for batteries to die because I would have to see how much of a difference in airflow ther actually is.

I go where the thrills are
I just received my Plus two days ago. Since it hasn't been rolled out just yet I'm waiting to hear from FF regarding how much info they want shared before the launch, so I'll refrain from posting pix etc.

Taking into account that I've never had any problems with the FF 2 outside of the battery glitch, I will say after two days of use I've noted the following:

1. The airflow is much less restricted. It isn't "airy" like a Mighty per se, but it's much less milk-shake-y than the previous FF versions. (The holes in the restrictor plate look just as small as ever, so it's not visually obvious but you can tell right away there's a much easier pull on the Plus.)
2. The less restricted airflow doesn't hamper vapor production...in fact once I got it going I got lots of thick vapor.
3. I pull about 30 hits or so from a very packed bowl. Vapor starts to wane around the back half of the bowl. I start on 390 and move up to as high as 460 to get the final vapor extraction. (I like high temps!) Though 460 is plenty hot enough to combust, I didn't get any combustion or even any pyrolysis...the weed got dark but not charred.
4. The battery seems to last only about one full bowl, again about 30 ish hits.
5. On the battery...the good news is the weird "idle battery" glitch seems to be gone. I charged a battery late afternoon, left it in the FF for 24 hours, and it was still reading full the next day, exactly the scenario that causes the batts in my old FF2 to read dead in the unit. The app reads correctly from what I can tell....when the battery is dead, the app shows it.

Overall there's improvement in airflow, a somewhat easier time generating vapor, fair-ish battery life, and a fix for the battery glitch, at least on my unit. Cosmetic differences seem to be limited to the new LED which is now the FF omega logo instead of a small dot. (Also the battery cover seems more snug on my unit.)

Bottom line: if you like the FF2 you will like the Plus even more. If you've never enjoyed the FF this won't change with the Plus....this is an evolutionary rather than revolutionary update, but the incremental changes address a few key things that I think make this a superior unit to the old FF2.

If I can get the high sign from FF I will post some pix....

I'm having trouble imagining 30 hits from a bowl. Are you including several "pulls" in order to get vapor before the light goes out? If I'm lucky, I get maybe 8 to 10 "hits" from a bowl. Maybe I'm discarding and wasting herb by not turning up the temperature.

Agreed. 30 seems doubtful. On mine I usually get about 12 draws max. Starting at med-low, take 3 draws, stir, step up to medium, 3 draws, stir, med-hi, 3 draws, stir, high, 3 draws, spent. After that point I’m getting no vapor. If this is true about the Plus then I wonder about the density of these new less-restricted draws.

Doubt me all you like, but I’ve been using FFs for over 5 years and I consistently get 25-30 hits from a very packed bowl. Keep in mind I pack quite densely.

As for vapor density, as I stated above, vapor starts to trail in the back half of the bowl. I get about 12-15 hits of medium to heavy density (it ain't a cloud machine, of course), followed by less dense vapor. The final hits, say the last 5 or 6, I've done at 460 and get faint-ish vapor that is still distinct but clearly on its final pulls.

I think it's obvious from reading the reactions to all the FF generations that user experiences vary wildly with these devices. Since the FF1 there have been folks who get ten hits and folks who get 20 or more. It all depends on what you consider a "full bowl", how you pack, how you ride the temps, how you draw. It all depends...that's the challenge of, and for a lot of folks, the downside of the FFs. They rely quite a bit on technique.

I'm counting actual visible vapor. "Wasting" is a personal decision. I usually hammer the hell out of my weed to get as much as I can sub-combustion. That you can crank these guys up to 450 and higher means yes, you are leaving something on the table if you don't hit it with higher temps but not everyone wants high temp vapor.

I've been still sitting with the vape after 40 minutes using like point one ion there LOL... that point where popcorn flavor happened like twenty minutes back and the vape is still producing visible vapor.... folks still smoking it are missing out big time on the effects and efficiency of vapes... I did not use a firefly vape but still .... vapes are where its at

Don’t attack products or companies. You can post your opinion, and you can criticize, but posts written to offend are not allowed. Warning point issued.
All i can say is i followed the ff2 before it was released and saw the glowing reviews... It was released and their were glowing reviews.

Then i purchased and have never been as disppointed by a vape purchase.

Since i thought the vape sucked i didnt feel bad fucking with it.

Ive removed the stock ff2 "screen" and replaced it with a regular screen. And it still sucked. I took ot apart and looked at the vapor path and the vapor path sucked. Shits just a coil under ceramic with a little hole on top. The coil that heats up its somewhat open to the electronics.

Im not a person that doesnt know vaping technique.

Ive vaped with regular bowl and regular lighter. Ive owned a mflb, enano, imag, vapcap, flowerpot, divine tribe, stempod, vaporgenie... And air 1 and solo 2.... And maybe some i forgot.

I know vape technique and draw technique.

When i vape its like making love. Haha you find the sweet spot and an work it. You can find it on the ff2... But it still sucks.

Over the technique the vape feels like a chinese clone. Its just feels like shit. Its doesnt feel solid like an arizer product... Even the imag felt like it was better quality.

This just flat out isnt worth the money.

Please dont get hyped by glowing reviews. This vape is a pos.

If you have money to blow go for it... But if you actually want a daily driver get something else.

If you are looking at the ff2+ for ondemand vapor just get a divine tribe or a stempod.

This vape is a joke. And keep in mind people on this forum will hype it and stay on this thread to hype it.

This vape os more marketing than it is a vape.

Bottom line from me is that the vape works but i would never suggest this vape to someone that doesnt have money to waste. The commjnity already fucked with these "updates"... Weve tried the alternative screens... The vape is bs. Be weary of certain people hyping this product. Visit the ff2 thread and no doubt t youll see the same names hyping it among many saying it sucks.

Theres other options that are cheaper and better.

As a poorer person... Dont waste your money and dont trust the hype. I cannot warn you enough. Support people that give a fuck.

I swear out of the whole ff2 theres only a few that hype it and saddly many were got by them. Just readt ff2 thread. This shits a joke. And that i dont mean the vape is useless, i mean the vape takes advantage of marketing and bullshit. It works... But its not work anything above maybe $120 if that (build quality and "science" alone, not even considering vapor production)

They hyped the shit out of this this... Seriously dont waste your money unless you have money to waste. Im saying this because I know what its like to be fucked over by marketing... And i ive lived my life poor. And i hate people taking advantage of people. I mean fuck this is the longest post ive made... In a way i really feel sorry of the people that bought this company.

This should be a beta vape. Cool tech but not set up right. Take the thing apart and you will see... Its not impresive.

Seriously ill risk my account for this... Dont pay more that 120 for a ff product.

Im glad prople have realized this. The ff2 was basically hyped by a few person. If you dont believe just read the ff2 thread.

Please understand marketing... Im a designer and hate myself for working in the marketing field. There are people that actually feel good about hyping shit and politics etc... That shit is evil.

I lost this as a poor person thath seen the american ameri fuck live over. Dont fuck with this.

If you question my post look at my post history.

As much as i hate to be wasteful i am almost willing to post a video of me submerging the ff2 in water after taking hit... Too bad my 2 batteries dont even work. Doesnt even matter if it produces vapor... Its still not worth the $$.

Read the ff2 thread and see who is hyping it...theres probably 5 at max. Dont get got by forum reviews.

This is my politically correct post... Some members here are lubing their dick ready to fuck you and manipulate you with for consent. As i said ill risk my a count for this.

Ive wasted too much money on shitty vapes. You wabt vas killers get a flowerpot and a vapcap.

I don not care for the hot/harsh vapor from a Flowerpot block of Ti heating element. Vapcaps are ok, my Lotus with a glass bowl make it look like a toy.....my G43 and Elev8r kick ass over everything right now that I have tried, no Glass Symphony yet or Herborizer though.

But I am guessing you never tried concentrates in the FF2? It rocks for rosin...but not much for flower.

That said....every vape is different to many people....it is not that it sucks....it just sucks for what you want or need. lol

Yeah ive try very limited concentrates and it tastes good but im Not sure about efficiency.

Ive been wanting an elevator seems like a another quality vape. But the flowerpot suits my needs for now.

I disagree about vapes meeting peoples needs.. the build quality makes his vape feel like a chinese clone.

And personally i feel it does suck for that amount of money it costs. I cannot believe i spent 330 on my ff2!!! So crazy!

Edit and not on ff2+ topic: i can see how the flowerpot could be harsh. But i have a glass piece similar their duel matrix and with the enail at 750 its very smooth. My only negative for the flower pot is microdosing... But at the same time its still better than my enano. I can put any amount in the bowl and vape it... But at the same time i wish the bowl was smaller. The flower pot was my desktop flower vas killer. I dont thi kill by a new portable until things really change the solo2 and vapcap cover me for now

This right here.

I have a friend who loves his Pax 1. Used it non stop for six years. I just sent him my Pax 2. (I like it, but not a ton, and never use it....so it’s off to a good home.). There are savvy folks here and elsewhere who swear by their MFLBs. Again I like them, but have two gathering dust.

Some people just dig certain vapes. They fit their lifestyles or preferences or usage. They aren’t shills. They’re just fans.

Different strokes wasn’t just a lame 70s TV show. It’s a real thing.

I liked the firefly 2. Great flavor. I did sell mine though. Draw restriction was too much. Cleaning the holes too much work.

The FF2 plus addresses this maybe to some degree. I'll wait until the price goes down, or even way down, then maybe purchase.

FF5 is my go to portable now, so I just dont need another portable (or any other vape for that matter, Herbalizer is my daily driver and I'll rip the shit out of a Cloud/Evo whenever too)

Before you dunk it in water can you send it to me? I'm a medical user with connective tissue disease and my Firefly 2 has been a lifesaver. My seal on my lid is getting warped and needs replacing and the battery is reaching the dreaded red lights phase. That said I've had mine for two years and prefer it over my mates Mighty. I run at 360 degrees and only hand tear and make sure I can see the holes to get adequate airflow. I vape and turn my herb over and over until the flavour starts to go then I take a dab tool and crush the herb for the final massive clouds. Yes, you read that right massive clouds.

>>I run at 360 degrees and only hand tear and make sure I can see the holes to get adequate airflow<< Could you explain better to me how you "see the holes"? Do you mean that you empty the bowl and clean it with an alcohol pad or are you referring to lighting up the bowl with heat and seeing if the holes are visible? Please explain a little better.

Sorry, some things are hard to explain. I mean I pack a single bud or hand tear but before I put the lid on I try to pack so I can still see some holes - this helps with air flow. The key to the firefly is a loose pack that is higher than the bowl and needs the lid to tamp it down.

After having lived with it for another week, my initial observations stand.

1. The “idle battery” glitch is fixed. Phew.
2. Battery life is ok but nothing spectacular. I get 30 long hits from a charge.
3. Draw resistance has lessened noticeably and makes it easier to hit and generate vapor.
4. Flavor is outstanding and better than any portable I’ve used, save the FF1.
5. Yes, despite skepticism, I get 30 hits from a packed bowl...half dense, half less substantial but still visible. I counted.

Btw speaking of reviews check out Buzz’s review. He hits all the salient points....good recap.

Thanks for the update. That is a really good looking lid. I’m really hoping they offer upgraded batteries for us FF2 owners that might fix some of these issues we have been having since launch.

My guess, and that’s all it is, is the battery problem is resident in the FF itself and not the battery. My older FF2 batteries seem to work correctly in the new unit.

Any chance of trying those nice new batteries in a standard 2 and letting us know if your battery glitches out? I think that will help a lot of standard 2 owners out. I believe a few people are hoping new batteries will solve some problems. If this isn't the case it's back to the drawing board. Plus it could save money and frustration.

I just contacted customer service Friday as I have an open trouble ticket from February and have a two year warranty. I initially complained about the batteries and they said there was a malfunction in the unit but it could be worked around if the user (me) would preheat it first. I have a FF2 bought last Feb. off of eBay. Not only were all the Vape sites out of stock on the FF2 but the price on eBay was about $80 off of what the FF2 website had it. One of the batteries seems to work relatively well while the other one is very weak and the charge doesn't last when idle even one day.

Firefly's customer service has been pretty good actually; promptly getting back to me. They said back in March that I could send it in for repair. Just having received it - and not being sure if it was user error or what - I elected to experiment with it some more.

When I contacted them a couple of days ago; they emailed me back offering me a new battery "when they get them in stock". Just one new one. They wanted the serial numbers off the two batteries I have which I promptly sent to them. They had previously confirmed the serial number off of the FF2 itself; that it was genuine. This time they also reminded me that if it still doesn't work right I could send it in. I was kind of hoping they might offer me an upgrade to the FF2+ but they didn't. More to be revealed I guess. I think it's pretty obvious that they know there are some bad batteries or, like Mitchgo61 says, it could be in the charging system in the unit. As I said they admitted there is a defect in the unit but were not very specific.

@mitchgo61 hey man, long time ff2 lover here and was just wondering something from your pic. Did the bowl get a little bigger? I’m 98% sure I’ll get one immediately and hope since I was even a ff2 preorder person and all that fun they may have a little deal for us... hmmmm

Pretty sure I spoke to you in the old ff2 thread , good times:D

I think the bowl is the same size as the FF2 and the window of the lid is kinda magnifying it a little in the picture.
