ZionM

Hey folks. with parts obsolescence and critical failures the Zion has been laid to rest. There are about 25 bodies left that could be used as a two battery Manual vape.... Zion M. This will eliminate the electronics issues and a decorative glass bead or metal insert with the RBT logo could be added to the voltage control knob hole. Basically, Zion would steal the mech mod electronics from the Milaana and the unit would be tuned to run hot and the button would be used to control the vapor quality... This would be a chance to recycle the bodies or they are headed for the trash soon as spring cleaning is here lol.

So, I will start the bidding at $250 as that is pretty much my throw them into the garbage number ... Do I hear $300? ....after some consideration there will be no more Zions made unless this happens and this is going to be the last of them as the SEED has been planted.

Peace,
Ryan

Ryan,

I can't speak for anyone but myself (it seems as if no one else is speaking up anyway).

If you were selling some more Zion vapes, I would be interested, but not nearly as much now that the Splinter Z is available.

If I want a 2 battery Milaana I can put a V1 on a decent mod for under $150.

If I want an upgrade from that I could buy a Splinter Z V1 and a DNA250C Mod for about $275.

There are other Splinter versions and other mods available for a whole range of prices.

So, to me, I would rather keep the $250-$300 in my pocket until the Mi 3 or Seed is for sale.

Thanks for the feedback. These units would have all the benefits... Stick stick, mouthpiece holder, stash box all in the shell of Zion... a metal cap will plug the hole where the voltage knob lived and the heater will be custom to handle the 8 volts... It would be nearly twice the surface area of Zion and have a feature to help reduce hot spotting. There seems to be something special in the vapor quality with this new set-up running at high voltages... an idea somewhat inspired by the drift wood root ball vape showcased at Champs.

Worth making a few up and getting them out to the Master Beta testers.

Haha yeah certainly game to try! Is this to be like the Timber Cannon TOD finally realized?! Perhaps this is actually more like a BOD though (box of death)...

I was curious how it would work unregulated when it'd be at 8v and then that's clarified... Oh fuck.

I think I have to be in...

I would like to be counted in! First had a look on this thread coz no Milaana are buy-able , definitely interested for 250 dolls.
Is there's any kind of ETA in your mind RBT?

(By the way Milaana2 on VGZ right now to pre order for post 420 on sale )

Hey folks... just a quick note to let you know that the first Beta has been sent to @VGOODIEZ ... the RBT Master Beta Tester. RBT is committed to doing a build of 25 units provided the testing goes well. About 10 will be saved for any lifetime warranty Zion customer who's Zion cannot be repaired as a choice for replacement. Additionally any Lifetime Zion owners will be offered a Splinter and Splinter Z as replacement for units that cannot be repaired. Due to parts obsolescence we are unable to repair units with electrical problems but we are more than happy to honor the lifetime warranty for all the Zion owners that gave RBT it's start.

Yeh, the 8.4 Volts in manual mode with a dual Zion heater sure does rip. As time permits These will be put together. Heaters, copper battery plate and glass need to be made / sourced so it will take a little time.... but they will eventually be available @ $300 MSRP. Thanks to all who helped save them from the grave.

So here are some thoughts on the Zion M.

First off form factor. That big ol' Zion hunk o wood. It's not for everyone but I love it! Mouthpiece storage, herb storage, stir stick storage, it's all there under the cap. That big beefy chunk in hand. It feels solid in hand and exactly like holding a Zion. In fact the only thing different from the Zion on the outside is the voltage knob is replaced by a silver button cover.

But under the hood it's quite different. Its unregulated yes and some people may whine about it but with the technique required here it really doesn't matter. You have 8.4 volts of crank and it's like the Milaana on steroids. Fast as hell. You can easily scorch/combust a load but its somehow still easier to use than the Milaana imo. Basically 2 second preheat and then pulse on and off the button. The thing extracts fast which is different than how I use my Milaana so I'm really digging that.

I am getting some wood char taste but I think that's because Ryan did one of his world famous stress test burn offs with this thing. My Milaana 2 alpha unit bares a scar on the outside for the same thing. Even so I think its gonna need some type of insulation for the trigger happy fools who can't control themselves!

Outside of that you know the RBT deal....Clouds Clouds Clouds! I like this with the Drydrotube a lot and paired with the larger Zion body it actually doesn't look unwieldy like it can with a Splinter/Milaana.

In the end, for me its another RBT winner and a good chance for those who missed the Zion boat the first time around. I will keep everyone posted on progress if I hear anything new. Feel free to ask questions.

The obvious question is how does it compare to the Splinter Z? Superfluous for people who already own a Z or necessary complement?
