My HT must be broken. When I fill it up all the water falls down (and some into my evo). I can’t see where it’s cracked. Any fix? Or is she dead?

Have you confirmed it's cracked?

Pull it off the Evo, plug one end and blow into the other to see where the crack is... maybe.

You could have also filled it with too much water? Once the airlock is broken water will continue to flow.

Come'on people, we all know water is bad, mmmmmkay! He needs help with the glass!

I'm enjoying the EVO again this Sunday. I'm doing a 1/4 ELB of GG4 and will see how it goes :peace::leaf:.

I'm picking up some Blue Dream strain which I haven't tried yet :). It's supposedly a quality grower so I'm hoping for a great batch and strain. It sells out fast. Any Blue Dream fans here?

Back-pressure can blow water from the hydra-tube top into the bottom. You should only pull off a HT never blow.

My buddy has an EVO and acquired the Lynx, thought he'd go EVO-to-Lynx then with some glass adapters and silicone tubing he connected to a handheld water pipe, which he hit off of. It worked well, until he stopped taking his hit and the water in the handheld water pipe dropped back and the back pressure through the tubing pushed water from the top part of the Lynx into the bottom part. Fortunately he noticed before too much water filled into the bottom of the HT to pour into the EVO...now he just uses the Lynx as intended.

If there is a crack in the HT you should see it leaking well before you hang it on the EVO.

If I remember correctly, the back pressure is the reason why there is a empty buffer chamber at the bottom of the hydratube, you are not supposed to fill water inside the bottom chamber. Some of the early models of hydratube don't have the safety chamber and so is one version from DHGate. If your hydratube is leaking then you'll see water leaking into the safety chamber, remove it from the EVO immediately if you see that. If you leave the water leaking to reach the slit of the 18mm female connection, water will drip into the EVO and the bamboo may crack.

Hi everyone I just recently bought a new Evo because my first one developed a crack in it, upon arrival I did both air tests- 1)blowing into it and then covering the air intake and2) inhailing from the HT after plugging the bottom, it seems completely airtight. After using it for 2 sessions I found it performs the exact same as my cracked Evo except with no burnt taste - my30%- 50% packed ELB bowls are only lasting for 2-3 hits max at 12:30 sometimes Il get 4. They’re decent hits and sometimes Il get a big one like I used to on my first evo. But they only last for 2-3 hits. The 4th hit is tiny if I manage to get one. I looked into the bamboo with a light and noticed the exact same circular crack in the exact same spot as my previous one. And it’s brand new just out of the box. How could the same crack appear in the same exact spot? Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated thank you - I didn’t receive a warranty card with this one and unfortunately I can’t exchange for refund or even exchange it because I didn’t inspect it within 24 hours after receiving it. The hits I get are decent/okay- every now and then Il get a huge one like I used to but the bowls still only last for 2-3 hits. It’s very frustrating. Especially when they used to go for 4-6 and th hits would be way bigger.the quality of my material hasn’t changed.

That doesn’t sound too different from my experience but I always attributed the difference in performance to differences in material. For me, some strains just produce better than others, no matter what the device.

While I have noticed that to be true myself, with the quality of the material I have now I used to get 4-6 hits from it easily. And now it’s down to 2 -3 and the quality of the material hasn’t changed/gone down

Those are not cracks. The bamboo has circular spaces in it. You can buy a T10 tool and open the Evo by removing six screws. You will be able to see if the bamboo has any hairline cracks. Then you will know for sure.

Who did you buy it from???

I agree....I would bet its not a crack you are seeing but the only way to know for certain is to open it up...I think.

And I also agree that the quality of the flower is key to vapor production with all else equal. Can make a very big difference.

Hey guys, Is the cloud buddy discontinued? Can't find one, if anyone is willing to let theirs go, PM me.

Momofthegoons got together with Mike of Oregon Glass Blowers to recreate the Cloud Buddy. Follow this link (and OGB does high qual work, IMO).

@jimdee and @Jtwpayne, thx for the heat up feedback . It's different for me, but as I recently mentioned there's a lot of variables that go into use... plus personal preference :). I like to use my EVO from cool/cold within 2 or so minutes of heat up. There's definitely more heat soak at 10 minutes, though at 30+ minutes it's still a big step up. The common theme among these recommendations is to find a heat-up time you like and then target it . The EVO is capable of an infinite variety of experiences and you can really dial in a top notch experience by developing quality and consistent methods/inputs. I can see the appeal of some added heat soak ... more extraction and cloud density :luv:.

@Jtwpayne, was the flower at the same moisture levels both times? That makes a huge difference. Also I do get some variability in ELB loads over the course using up a nug (many many sessions), sometimes there's more sugarleaf in a particular ELB, etc. You mention doing only a couple sessions too, I'd give it some more use and go through more ELBs before drawing much for conclusions. And have you tried lowering the temp? I can take draws at 11:00 (320F) at 30%-50% ELB and get clouds. I recommend trying it, maybe that gets you closer to your optimum experience. . Hope that helps :2c::tup:.

:leaf:
Yay Friday. I'm back on the EVO, this time with Trainwreck flower. from a great batch :luv:. I love the sativas :science:. I tried to to a 50% ELB load but still ground too much flower up. The EVO is crazy efficient with fresh quality flower . I probably ended up at ~ 2/3's full :p. Blowin' clouds at 320F .

I have a bit of Trainwreck ground flower left and my eye on some Acapulco Gold fortification with the next bowl :) :peace:.

EDIT. There was a pause mid sentence at the end of one paragraph for a couple hours. What can I say?... the EVO and potent Trainwreck are strong :lol:. Fixed, haha.

Cool @MonkeyTime! There's a lot of other variables. I like less heat soak in my first low temp 320F fresh flower draws... the terps and vapor are incredibly strong and flavorful with good flower in a dry mouthpiece . After some draws there, I increase the temp to 1 o'clock on the dial and finish the ELB, not caring much about heat soak in the 5-10 minute range :leaf:. How long are your draws and hold times? Those inputs can very much affect heat soak :).

Hope you know that was all for effect, I'm open minded about others ideas!

No matter the goal, I've found I love a good soak, and the lower the temp, the longer the soak!

My norm is about noon or just over and very long slow draws finishing the elb in about 5 pulls. Those are usually about 1/3 full with coarse ground.

I've enjoyed as low as 9:30, but I need a good long soak before. For me, when at lower temps, the temp dips too much without the soak.

The unit with the crack started acting differently than when it was first purchased and the crack seemed to be the cause.

Maybe the new unit is acting differently than the old unit did when first purchased because it is calibrated differently and it's just a coincidence that it's working similarly to the way the old unit did when the crack appeared. I remember seeing posts from members where even new units reach different temps at the same point in the dial. You may have to move the dial around to find "the old similar temp" you're looking for.

I tried a few desk top’s that impressive would be a word to describe this experience.
The EVO Just was perfect for my definition of BLISS!

Any current promo codes for vapexhale stuff? I really want to order some quartz to finally try out but don't want to have to wait for a sale. Is a tighter draw hydratube or easier draw better for concentrates? I have the original Vertigo Glass Hydratube as well as a wonky showerhead one.

A strange observation with vapexhale...I remember getting a ton of emails with 20% coupon for any holiday that would pop up... too many.....but now none... wonder if that means anything? New product release? Company going under? New business direction with the hanu stone?

Of course, all speculation
