Where has the time gone?

20 years old, kept in deep freeze and still kicking, perfect for vaping!

As the song goes... "It was 20 years ago today"... Nice documentary by the way.

I miss that old Afghani hash!!

I have a bunch of strains that have been stored since November 2017. Air sucked out of turkey bags, those bags in bags with Bovida, inside Tupperware. Its still supple, has good smell but not as much. The biggest change is the color, it has gone pretty dark.

I pulled some out the other day and have to say that it is still relly good. If someone did not look at it first and vaped it I dont think they would know the difference. While I have seen the studdies about THC to CBN conversion and THC loss, I did not find it to be weaker or more sedative.

Lose the bags and use glass and it ages better......

I love traditional hashish and in the late 60's and early 70's I lived in a northeast port city and we got LOTs of trad hashish from the middle east. Pounds of it before the Russians invaded Afghanistan (they fucked that up good) and the extremist Muslims kind of fucked things up too (in many much more horrible ways than impacting the hash trade).

I don't care about the level of hygiene...I would smoke that stuff in an instant if I could get my hands on some.

The big pickle jars don't usually seal, and only hold a lb. or so. Plus pickling brine scent has some serious staying power in those jars.

I'm telling you guys... 5 gallon plastic bucket with a gamma seal lid. I've gotten up to 4 lbs. to fit in one bucket with a little breathing room on top. Assuming you have at least a couple lbs. stored, everything stays as good or better than jars imo, especially the smell, probably because of so much volume stored together.

Even after a couple years, it's still breaks up nice! But... assuming my crop goes well this year, I'm thinking a bonfire party of the two year old buckets.

unbearably light in the being....
Article is oddly deceptive: it posts these mounting numbers that look like your goods are just evaporating...but:

- the biggest drop is in the first year, 16.6%; but the second year it falls only 10.2% - then 7.4% the 3rd year and 6% the 4th. After which it “levels off”....

Since this describes deterioration of THC, you can expect less munchies, less red-eye, less cottonmouth.

When i was young , 25 years ago i had a friend who has a hippy father. His father had
A bag full of original 70s weed (grown from a seed from india he has brought by him self) and a rifle. We decidid to take the weed. We smoked the whole bag in a few weeks.....it was not strong but i got high......but i smoked og hippy weed , this was worth the problems with my friends father......

Old Weed... how about furniture finds? Lord knows who lost it. The heavens are the only ones to know when... but when I moved from an apartment after a well worn stay of maybe a decade, we tossed a chair over the railing that moved in the same time I did. When we went to haul it to the dumpster we noted the stark white doob just laying there on the ground. We quickly shuffled the chair into the dumpster and enjoyed that long lost doob. Time really has nothing on cannabis :D

Thinking of getting one of these for burping and curing,

shopping

I usually do this in 1/2 gallon Mason jars but it gets too tedious. Once cured in the above I will transfer to the Mason Jars,
I am currently vaping buds from June last year, the extra sharp pine flavor has now mellowed and is not
as overpowering as my recent crops (all from the same mother plant)
I never vacuum sealed the 15-month-old buds I am vaping now and I can still chuck a whitey if I try too hard.
My newer buds from later crops are now vacuum sealed with 62% Boveda packs, Oxy Sorb satchels and each 2liter jar has it's own digital humidity gauge. All kept in the dark in a cold workshop cupboard.
So I believe the quality/preservation of buds is very dependant on how it is stored, the more effort put into storage should preserve it better.:2c:
I just have to wait a while for testing results to be tallied.

Tokin' Away Since 1968
In 1972 or 3 I decided to do a 21-day winter solitary camping trip in the White Mountains in NH. In preparation, I wanted to have some good dope with me. A close buddy was a small-time dealer and after lining up other friends to buy some, we copped 8 oz of hard black resiny hash. I got an oz for my trip--and beyond. My oldest friend bought two, though he was only an occasional doper. My oz made my trip much more fun, especially the long dark evenings.

Fast forward to 2005 when my oldest friend got divorced. As he was searching the house and packing stuff up for the move out of their home, in the back of the downstairs refrigerator he discovered a tiny jar with about 2/3 of an oz of that hash that he had forgotten about. He'd ended up in a professional job and had stopped getting high and so gave the piece of hash to me. It still had a nice flavor, but you had to smoke a large amount to get even a mild--and unsatisfying--buzz. I still have a 1/4 oz in my freezer. No amount gets you off any longer.

That's a great story, @Polarbearboy . Thanks for telling it.
