Resin on Teeth, Protective or not?

MegaMan2k

Do you think the resin/re-claim that builds on the teeth from heavy vaping / dabbing is beneficial / protective to the teeth?

Or could it be harmful from maybe terpenes acting as a solvent on the teeth?

-sorry if this should have been posted in medical, mods : feel free to move the thread if u like

Resin on people's teeth? In their mouths? I brush my teeth multiple times a day and see a dentist for regular cleanings. I floss. I assume most people do. Or I assumed most people did. If they don't, they might try brushing and scheduling a dental appointment for a cleaning. Proper dental hygiene is a wonderful thing.
I'm sorry if I misunderstand the question. I'm so flummoxed by the very idea of someone letting rosin build up in their mouth, on their teeth and not cleaning it off, that I can't figure out how else to interpret this.
Teeth are important. Even my current avatar is holding a glass with teeth in it.
That's just nasty. Brush people, brush.

Sure, wouldnt go out and call anyone nasty for that reason(or any other reason for that matter :b)

I was mainly thinking about this theoretically after doing some reading on different terpenes..
My idea wass that it might be benefical for the teeth and gums / overall dental health,

However, afraid to do any testing if it can cause damge instead of good :p

(testing as in mixing some rosin into toothpaste or whatever, not wait for it to build up by itself obviously)

Agreed, @arb.

@MegaMan2k
I wouldn't call anyone a name, but that doesn't mean not brushing your teeth isn't nasty. It is the definition of nasty. It is basic self care. If you want to say, " Hey folks, I'm thinking of developing a Terpine toothpaste. Good idea, yay or nay?" that's one thing, but we are talking about "...resin/re-claim that builds on the teeth from heavy/vaping/dabbing..."
If you brush regularly and properly, you shouldn't have build up of rosin and reclaim. There can be no benefit of letting reclaim build up on teeth that outweighs the benefit of proper oral hygiene and the removal of plaque and bacteria from the teeth, tongue and gums. If you have any proof at all that this is not the case, and that letting resin and reclaim build up is more beneficial than brushing and flossing, not only would I be interested in hearing about it, but so would the American Dental Association and the Board of Oral Surgeons.
It is not obvious that you meant " ...not wait for it to build up by itself..." when you clearly and literally stated this was exactly about resin/reclaim build up on teeth. If you want to ask, "Hey Folks, rubbing resin/reclaim on tooth and gums, good idea? Yay or nay. " that is a different question.
As for a reclaim toothpaste, to apply you would literally have to brush it onto the teeth which would also remove most of it, if there was anything of use left after having been immersed in toothpaste.
I will not be shamed for my position that neglecting oral care is a nasty personal habit. There might be reasons for it, such as homelessness or severe ill health, but that just speaks to how unfortunate circumstance are for some people, and why nurses brush patients teeth in the hospital if a patient is too ill to do it for themselves. In such cases a person has no choice. Other than that, neglecting oral care is bad for not just dental health but over all health. Signs such as foul, rank breath and badly stained teeth are outputting to others. It's nasty.
I'm saying the habit is nasty, not calling people names. If you disagree, fine. I get that, but that doesn't mean that I don't think it's nasty. If you can extend your extreme open mindedness in my direction a smidge for having an opinion that isn't inline with yours about oral care, as much as you do to those that don't practice oral care, I would appreciate it. It is not required, however. I'm still brushing regardless.

Sure,
Im not on any particular side of this matter, just looking for some personal experiences or other research! :D

Sorry if it came off a little confusing with the "built up" resin, english is not my 1st language, formulation is my biggest challange :p

What i mean with "Built up" , for example, when i have a "Heavy" session and go thru 2-3 grams of concentrates in a single sitting, I will have this "film" over my teeth and generally able to feel the reclaim on my teeth,
And from the big amounts of thc i would usually pass out that particular night without brushing my teeth, so its there for around 12-24 hours,

hope it makes more sense,

You're English is very good. You perfectly described "built up", and I understood a film on teeth was involved. I did not understand it was your teeth, and thought this was more hypothetical. If you regularly vape, pass out, go 24 hours without brushing, I imagine you would be able to tell us after your next dental appointment if this is a workable strategy, and leaving the resin helps more than brushing. Please let us know how it works out for you. I wish you the best of luck, and you have my regards.

You could always scrape the reclaim off your teeth and save for hard times.:puke:
oh god this reminds me of that one time my crust punk friend who didnt really shower or brush his teeth began scraping the white stuff from his teeth and had a shit ton of build up on his finger. My cousin was so grossed out he puked and started a chain reaction, soon 3 or 4 people were puking.

Im no dentist but i bet my right nut it doesnt protect your teeth.

Why would it? You haven't provided any reason it would. Blueberries are good for my health, but if I left them on my teeth for 12 to 24 hours after binging on them and passing out, they would be very bad for my teeth. You want to skip brushing, well you do you, but that isn't a compelling reason why it's good habit.

I find @MegaMan2k question is legitimate... there are also toothpastes with herbal ingredients maybe it is beneficel... and on the other hand who knows how good consuming rosin in any form may have negative effects... I brush my teeths two times a day (that is what is mostly recommended (max 3 times more is bad for your teeths as far as I know)) who knows how fast it reacts maybe say in 1 hour... then you would have to brush your teeths every hour? I think as smoking is bad for your teeths and gums also vaping could be bad for example high temperatures involved and so on ...

Cannabinoids in their acidic form may not be good for enamel, might also affect receding gums. I would suggest removing any buildup immediately for these reasons.

I don't see how it could be beneficial/protective, but it's possible as we know topicals/salves have their applications.

I imagine like most aspects of vaping, it is a healthier option than smoking re oral health.

For a time I was ingesting RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) by rubbing a tiny rice sized bit on my gums before bed. It absorbed quickly through the mucus membranes and was quite effective. I doubt it would do anything for teeth but RSO can be absorbed easily through both skin and mucus membranes.

It's not quite the same as vapor resin but I think that the same principle might apply.
