Discontinued VRIPtech Heating Wand

I believe the next iteration is still coming, it just takes a bit longer these days lol The new spherical bowl will have a matching wand cover with ground spherical joint, making a much higher surface area to contact and a better seal. Towards the end of a bowl you've got a nice amount of conduction building up in the reducer and then the bowl itself - more surface areas for convection but ultimately direct conduction towards the end which helps with a rapid finish. The new spherical wand cover should make ripping bowls even quicker.

I sure hope you are right! Is this based on some new insider information, or are you speculating based on previous posts here? Either way, thanks for keeping this thread alive, and hopefully the folks at Vriptech know that regardless of how much we love our 3.0, we are excited to see the new stuff!

Any info on that bowl would be appreciated!!
Would be great to have mine back in rotation with a small bowl.
I think I posted a pic but it was maybe from my old Imgur account and possibly deleted now although @splitz posted one too I think somewhere in this thread... All in all it's only a cheap combustion glass bowl which came with one of my bubblers and which was fitting the wand pretty well.

Sorry, I didn't noticed @splitz already posted but here a link of a very similar bowl in green:
https://www.dhgate.com/store/product/5-pcs-lot-14-5mm-and-18-8mm-colored-glass/202413629.html

Happy you like it @splitz ! before to be mine wand it was in the @lazylathe hands, it's incredible how a so fragile device can go through 3 ownership without any breakage or loss in performances. I bet @lazylathe , like myself , regretted sold this vape!

@lazylathe - best advice is to bring the VHW to your local glass/head shop and see what they have in the way of bowls to match up. It's fun to introduce the staff to the tool as well.

edited to add:

what really makes the PPN supplied bowl preform better than others I've tried:

- It's not a solid glass bowl. It is a thin walled, blown glass bowl. The thin glass has more advantageous heat up times / retention (think vapcap SS tip vs. Ti Tip heat responses) for my style of use.

- There is a single hole in the center at the bottom of the bowl. This small hole, along with the 18mm male joint allows for some serious air pressure difference / vacuum to play with. (The epicvape EV-2 OG bent stem had the same idea going. There was a taper/hole above the bowl within the stem itself to allow for serious suction to be created).

I'll try to get some better pics of the @PPN bowl up. It really does put the VHW into more of a micro-dosing mode. I see the OG vriptech bowl more suited to the heatgun concept (forcing air through), and the @PPN bowl more for the wand (sucking air through)... Concentrates in the small bowl on a bed of flowers is really something to experience as well.

Do you use any sort of screen with that bowl? Or do you just let little bits through the hole? I'm very interested in this solution, because I would really like to turn the vriptech into more of an everyday tool by allowing it to be more microdose-friendly. As it is right now, I use it as more of a special occasion device, because even the 4.2 vriptech bowl seems to require a fairly large amount of flower to really work properly.

If I'm going all glass, then no screens are used. I've tried a tumble-weeded wad of hemp fibre in the 18M connection however, it gums up too fast and holds flavours. I've also tried an inverted screen (thimble screen from RBT milaana stem) stuffed in the 18M end with success. I find grind consistency plays the biggest role in air flow. I've since given up on my grinders and go straight to a pair of fiskars and a shot glass for full control.

@PPN - your VHW and small bowl gets used daily!

Nice setup! I always wanted Mark to make a hands-free kettle style bubbler incorporating the VHW stand dimensions around the 14mm female so you could do what you're doing there: hands-free! :brow:

It's pretty old info I got direct from Mark maybe a year or two ago - he has prototype in hand and the process to dial in all the variables and production tooling etc. had begun. It's definitely his plan to keep iterating, and I understand there are more products in the pipeline too. He's slowing down our poor VripMaster :myday: but I think he has a few tricks left in him yet

Almost there...
This is a continuation of the OG FC thread located here:
(a bit of history for this thread, the original thread was started by VapeXhale CEO on 31 October 2008!!)

This is a very unique and pretty much unknown vaporizer.
The company, however, has been around for a very long time. They first entered the vape market with the Valloon, a hot air gun powered bag vape!
It is also still available for purchase...LOL!

The full name of this vape is VRIPtech vaporization Wand, also know as the VRIPMaster.
It is an ALL glass vape that uses a ceramic heating element to power the vape, temperature is adjusted via a twist dial.
The actual heating element and handle portion closely resemble a modified soldering iron.

The bowl is a 3 piece assembly consisting of an adapter that houses a glass screen, available in 14 or 18mm and the bowl that fits on top and seats the wand.
The red o-ring seen above can be moved up and down to place the heater closer or farther away from your herb.

Where it starts to get really interesting is the front section of the vape! This is where the magic happens!
A full glass, custom blown attachment that swirls and mixes the air before it hits your herb.
The ceramic heating element is fully encased by the glass section and is not part of the air path.
Best be careful with this beauty as a replacement cover is over US$100...

The VRIPtech wand is known as a connoisseurs vapeorizer by the manufacturer due to various claims as to how it extracts.
As an owner of 3 wands so far, I can say that it extracts very well, just like any other high end vaporizer.

A video from the maker of this vaporizer!

This video also from the maker, explains some of the pseudo-science of the claims.

And some videos from a while ago...

All the way to blueish vapor...

A great vape that does not receive the notice it should!

AFAIK this vaporizer also played a key role in the design/development of the VXL CLOUD. I believe the idea behind the Cloud was to create a hands free version of the VRIP, some neat posts about this on Ye Olde FC.

@stickstones i went back through the early FC thread on this vape and it seemed like you were in to it. 10yrs later, do you still reach for this vape? If you stopped using it, what took its place? It seems like an interesting idea.

It's still something I break out on special occasions. The only all-glass convection vape I have, so it will always have a place. Once dialed in, it's amazing.

It's more work than I want on a daily basis. For the regular sessions, it's the Herborizer.

My last VHW element burnt out a while back, the cheap soldering iron electronics and ceramic element are pretty variable quality - some last for years, some a few months :( Last I spoke to Mark he still had a custom electronic VHW in the pipeline, with the new ground-glass joint to match the newer VCB, but that was probably 4-5 years ago now.. haven't heard back from him in a long while now so hopefully he's doing ok!

I ended up picking up a Crafty+ to keep me going, was considering grabbing a Hybrid but all of these QA issues 🤯

I still hold out hope a new VHW will arrive one day, but it's not looking good 😭

The original glass on glass taste king with its bluish vapor at low temps.
This vaporizer inspired a revolution with seibo making the vapexhale after using this.

My wand died but still have the extra glass bowls and stickers for nostalgia.
I still have my 2.0 and 3.0 sitting on the shelf of my closet. I haven't used anything other than my Evo for at least five years now.

I was just thinking about this blue vapor reality the other day. Is it no longer true that you're doing it right when it's blue and wrong when it's white? Those days are long gone with me now trying my hardest to milk my hydratube as thick as I can.

Anyone think I should be aiming for a translucent vape exhale with an Evo?

Is there a US plug version or do i have to get an EU to US plug adapter or AU to US plug asap depending on which device I purchase?

I would email them and ask if they have any 120V versions.
If you buy another voltage one you will need a step up converter.
