iHeat 510 Heater Cartridge

Maybe a hose clamp them? It won't look as nice, but no silicone. It may also damage the wood if you tighten it too much. Not sure of what else you could buy off the shelf that would work.

I thought Elmer's glue was the holy grail of wood glue.

Squeeze a little into the crack and then use a hose clamp for 24 hours until dry.

Not sure how Elmer's is with heat.

Well... you better baby it indeed, as even if it contains no glass it's unfortunately not indestructible... Accidents happen sadly, and my iHeat + mod fell from my pocket while I was looking for my keys just in front of my house door...

The bamboo shell cracked all the way long... It's still more or less usable, but the stem doesn't lock in place as well as before and I imagine it produces a non optimal vapor/air ratio.

I'll see if I can find a way to fix it...maybe some kind of ring? Don't tell me to use tape as I'd prefer to avoid getting parasitic smells from hot adhesives and whatever plastic the tape would be made of.
Dude , sorry to hear , mate! Glad to hear it was your vape of choice that day.
So no glue , silicone or plastics..
Hmmm how about some haywire ? Lol well maybe not that thick but I'm thinking 2 pieces of steel wire could probably tighten and hold things in place . Might be abit uncomfortable where the wire ties up but these vapes are mostly held by the mod box .

Wish you find a way to fix it and comfortably use it again.olease let us know how it works out

@KeroZen I don't know if any of the glue ideas interest you. I just have a suggestion if you decide to make a hose clamp the method of keeping closed while the glue dries.

Do NOT use the clamp directly on the wood. Use some fabric scraps or the tube from an old bike tire (cut to size) between the clamp and iHeat so you can put your iHeat back together without lasting marks from the hose clamp.

Hemp bondage is a sexy solution :brow:
cooking wire could be a cleaner one (thinner and less hairy than hemp)

My IH is rocking hard. With dna its a very powerfull yet scorch proof (unless you want to ride scorching edge) but harsh if pulling hard
To reduce heat in vapor I use the glass lined stem filled with 4mm soda lime balls (glass balls), like i saw in imp thread IIrc. It is very effective and cheap as fuck.

Variety is spice of life and VAs is real but at least for on demand portable convection i am good :smug:

Wow @kerozero that sucks. Yours was one of the original ones. You really got a lot miles out of it. Sadly there seemed to be some issue with the TC on the first prototypes and it gave you some issues.

The testing feedback from them I feel helped with making V2 what it is. Recently I received my second V2 and have to say both have worked excellent on the DNA chips.

I do owe a thank you to @Alan for this. With my hands the way they are I was unable to install the new SS foil in my old iheat. Well i was on my road trip knowing I be gone for few months I sent it back to Alan.

Wood being what wood is in the process of installing the SS foil my first iheat body sustained damage. So RIP to number 1 she was a beautiful piece of art.

The good thing is I now have the newest version of the iheat with the SS foil and new coil. It's been my DD this last week. It runs warmer than the previous iheat. I'm not sure if has anything to do with the 11/18 service pack on the DNA250 chip or just due to the SS foil.

A different screen might also help you tame the harshness. Using a finer mesh also allow a bit less airflow compared to the stock screen.

Maybe a jubilee clip would hold it together?

@HerbieVonVapster you are right, and i do. I use arizer baskets but I modded them.
With pliers its easy to take off the aluminium ring, keeping basket integrity.
This is good because it is a useless heat sink (differently from glass spheres): without, it allows for lower temp/watt without loosing vapor density (also it gives less tunneling IME)

It is also good because less things are in air/vapor path the better IMO

@HerbieVonVapster - Thanks for posting the photo. Glad you are enjoying the new unit with the ss foil lining. I do find that a little more heat is available for roasting since some radiant heat is being reflected away from the wood and back to the coil. Really enjoying the DNA chip with the mesh spiral coil heater. Allows you to get the most use from your batteries with excellent control.

@KeroZen - Sorry to hear of your unfortunate accident. You can always install it on you Witcher box and wedge something between the metal guard and the bamboo on each side to close up the gap. That would make it a wattage only unit, but it still works very well. You can always get yourself a new wooden iHeat that has the SS foil installed and a ss hex nut for the center connection.

Just want to say that my adorable iheat arrived yesterday and works great. (I'd post a pic if I could figure out how so you could see what I mean). I'm very low tech so I'm using my box mod as is without any adjustments. Alan also helped make my hcigar more user friendly by loosening the lid so I can put batteries in.

I just set preheat off and lowered punch from 5 to 2 and rised watt from 28 to 30: i get much more even heating and vapor production starting from first heat... hit

@Alan sent me stainless foil and some o-rings for free, stunning vape goes very well with wonderfull CS
Thank you very much, that too improves even heat distribution but at a lesser extent than mentionned settings IMO

These days, 95% of the times i use IHeat or my newly aquired volcano, very #civilized I feel

That's a pain your Iheat broke @KeroZen , sorry for your loss. Maybe you can only use a plomber collar or two in order to maintain everything in one piece and usable... at home at least. Collars can add a sort of "punk" style to the design!

Did you think the bamboo to be more inclined to break?

Can i say the Movkin Disguiser mod box adds a layer of metal protection to the atty, only the stem is exposed.

Actually I use my Iheat exclusively with the Disguiser, I gave up with TC mode and use it in power mode at 32-35w with great enjoyment. I was annoyed cause there was resistance reads changes every few hits since it's not possible to lock the resistance (or I didn't found the feature). TC works better with my Evic Mini but it's a 1 battery mod... not enough for the Iheat imho, so I use it with the Disguiser.

I'm very happy with the performances, wood stem for dry small dose which sits close of the heater for fast heating. And 18 to 18 male to male adapter, inverted in a bubbler, with a big load which sits at 1-2cm from the heater screen (I found this method not really usable for dry use cause the load will spread everywhere in the chamber after you stir by the first 2 hits and thgis is doesn't helps for a good vaporization process).

Thanks a lot @Alan to gave me the opportunity to get an early Iheat, I was on the list for a log vape but I'm very happy I changed my mind.

How can i insert the foil liner in the Iheat? I get some stainless steel sheet I can cut... Is it only a band of SS sheet i place against the wood wall around the coil? if yes it seems an easy task and i can do it myself...

@KeroZen , it's probably too late for this suggestion , but , how about sewing a small leather tube to fit (tight!) around your broken I-heat.
If you dampen it so that it's loose enough to slide over the body of the vape, when it dries out the shrinkage should close the crack and provide support for further use?

Hi I own a Splinter and a Splinter Z do you think this vape is worth getting ?
Does anyone own both and do they offer a similar type of vape ?

This is an awesome vape, but even nicer work of art. It's very similar to the splinters but also very different at the same time. Some differences are the iHeat has wide open airflow, solid wood construction ( no glass like the splinters ) so vapour is produced immediately. Produces some really smooth and tasty vapour. If you like your splinters this is a great unit to add to your collection.

Hi I know they look amazing , have heard it’s a very powerful heater too so next question ‘ Is it easy to scorch/combust in these units ? ‘

I would say it's the same level of risk as any other 510 vape. NO more or NO less of a risk than the splinters you're using. For me the only time I've flirted with combustion is when I have my settings up high from finishing a previous session and I change up my stems from a 19/19 to something longer bringing the herb closer to the heater.
