What would a futuristic vaporizer have...

Alexa indication is optional and no microphone built into the vape. We had a series of people request it so we just made it possible to connect if you own one. (Hey Alexa, heat up my ovandi to Nathans preset)
Just because people want to do a foolish thing does not make it smart.

We have a long term plan for it (alexa) that we will be testing in legal cannabis markets. No worries, it will make a lot more sense as we do more things and offer more services. Starting small I just want to make very good vapes that are easy to clean and deliver quality consistently.

Loooool I love the comic I am going to repost in slack for the team.

Hey Everyone! Long time no see, I am a coming back with an update after working on this for coming on 2 years we created https://ovandi.io.

Ovandi Pro is our first vape targeting the home:

- Vapes Herbs and low temp concentrates, we are aiming for medical grade using convection
- Both Whip attachment and vapor bag
- A larger bowl that uses acoustics design which means it will heat evenly and make small movements
- Integration with Google home and Amazon Alexa to give it basic commands
- Useful Application with terpene features will talk about this closer to release
- A touch screen interface with manual controls and the ability to save presets

Please let me know if this hit the mark. We are now raising funds to start manufacturing after receiving our first orders.

Looks fancy and your posts in this thread remind me of The Herbalizer. The real issue new vapes face is while they have looked carefully at performance, they have not considered the ritual of using the vape. If the ritual using, loading, strirring, cleaning etc of the vape is crap but the performance is perfect it may still not succeed as the ritual sucks... in others words it’s the entire package.

What are the vapes dimensions? Looks like it takes up a lot of space and would not easy to hide away if the kids come around. How’s the fan perform inflating bags? As quick as the Volcabno or as slow as the Herbalizer? Is it tipsy? Looks a little top heavy?

The Grasshopper is as futuristic of a vaporizer as I can imagine. I feel like I'm holding some kind of magic in my hands every time I use it. The size of a pen and you can rip it for literally as long/hard as you want without it losing temp.

@YaMon - We are trying hard to fuse the interaction of using the vape and keeping the process similar you still have to pack a bowl and can still be selective of the herbs/oils you put into it. My rationale was to design something that's fun to use and simple to maintain. Fan performing well it will be faster heating than the volcano and have similar airflow consistency as the herbalizer. We spent a lot of time designing the bowl to build a range of motion with airflow pathways to reduce hot spots.

Currently, 25x20x25 Cm & we are trying to reduce the size. It won't be tipsy the device is actually not one geometric shape and its a little wider on the bottom. The plan was to keep it neutral colors an not looking entirely like a traditional vape so it could be left out there is a software lock option if you choose to use the app as a child safety precaution. The device will most likely not be perfect on the first run but we will try our best to bring something awesome that delivers solid vapour and lasts. Ovandi, as it stand, is a team of Canadian engineers & designers that meet up 40+ hours a week listen to music and make material safe vapes. Our goal is to be a technology company that listens to the community and makes things we are proud of. This was awesome feedback thank you @YaMon! What do you think of what I said?

@arb - You can use a whip(hookah hose) or bag similar to the Volcano
@Accept - I was but this has been one of my personal dreams (https://bit.ly/2Ht7bz9 - article about why)
@Cheesequake - Grasshopper is an awesome vape! I'd want to try my hand at making a portable after we get Ovandi Pro on the shelf. Truly love this industry and tech is steadily improving.
@stinkytofus I agree! but some of the higher end ones seem very expensive for what you get. (Bells & whistles)

Every vape has to be loaded, but is the ritual with your vape smooth, enjoyable, easy, fluid or does herb get everywhere or do you need a funnel or special tool like the NewVape Pax loading tool? What about cleaning the bowl, how easy or difficult and does herb get all over everything in the process? Great that you’ve focused on the bowl airflow to avoid hot spots, but does it need a stir? If stirring how easy or difficult and does herb get everywhere. Do you provide a stir tool and or a brush? (Yes, there is a theme here, I don’t like herb getting everywhere. I either want it in my Jyarz or CV storage, the bowl or the debowler and not anywhere else.)

Your dimensions make your vape more space hungry than any vape I own by volume. FlowerPot it could be argued takes up space, but each component maybe tucked away, it’s not all one lump sitting on my table.

What about function? How quick is they extraction at high temps? I love my FlowerPot as it excels at high temp fast extraction and is closest to smoking as I have found, it has punch to it I have not found elsewhere. The closest I have come to finding something similar is the RBT Splinter Z on a 3 battery mod, and still that leaves me wanting.

Small , option for conduction/convection , option to be portable and tethered and battery swap-able , option for both concentrate using the best dabbing surface and flowers , unbreakable , clean air path , good warranty , software that can be updated as well as parts , vibration and light feedback as well as sound that can be toggled on/off , variable temp selection , option to blow bags , super easy to clean , maybe even a built in grinder and button that can make the entire vape invisible ...

just_the_flu

they say im crazy but i have a good time
...i'm not interested in anything i cannot use direct on my glass nor what it can support on its own..

...futuristic vapes should be all about the best heat source with great extraction(huge one hits) in a small package size that sits on a bowl... something like the showerhead for example...

The perfect portable vape would probably be a ghost mv1 with single swappable 18650 and smaller form factor

The perfect desktop would probably be something like newvapes vrod, can do flower, wax or both at same time

The perfect butane vape would probably be sticky brick maxx, the clouds i get on this thing is nuts

Volute of Vapor
One great feature would be to offer the choice to vape your load to full extraction in a pre-selected number of hits, the vape will have to calculate the perfect t° and airflow and auto adjust it. Maybe you can choose the extraction level you want (I like to get my abv dark brown but not black, some prefers a light brown abv or even golden). It's not an easy thing cause there is a lot of parameters to consider like grind, bud density, moisture, packing, ambient t° and ambient air moisture.
Smart path feature àla DaVinci might be something to work on a desktop.

The capacity to fully extract every bit of resin everywhere in the bowl (works on turbulences or another tek like nanowaves or laser!), maybe a feature to heat the filter screen enough to vape the trapped resin inside and add another level of efficiency.

Is it possible to work on the vapor still formed to improve potency, taste or smoothness differently than just using waterfiltration? Sublimator claimed that sort of feature although I don't know how it works. Maybe something able to "concentrate" the vapor improving both taste and potency... and I read in the past some guys used hot water in their watertool... following this idea is it possible to re-heat the vapor for smoothness purposes?
I would appreciate a sort of built in charger where you can load a dozen of bowls and go through them for the day. (no more full abv desk area).

I thought to another idea where you used a rosin press to squish and vape in the same time a personnal dose amount of weed. This idea will offer to vape only the resin and will avoid the harshness coming from the rest. although it may be difficult to keep it small and sleek. and efficiency might sucks since it's inevitable to get some goodies trapped in the puck... but it might taste like heaven!
