Argo vs fw5 vs fury2

Summer

However, he considers the Fury 2 to be his favorite portable

No, as far as portables, one of the portables he mostly takes with him is the Ghost. You never see him using the Fury in his streams anymore, not even when out & about.

I'll post the link when his updated Fierce video is up.

@YaMon, I prefer swappable, non-proprietary batteries. Prop. Batteries are expensive. But as Randy from puffitup said, they are inherently safer. Non-swap batteries are a deal-breaker, but not prop batts.

That's odd – he has titled the Fury 2 review video "My Favorite Ultra-Portable Dry Herb Vape"

Maybe the key term here is "ultra-portable" (which the Ghost is not).

Whatever the case may be, it is significant for the OP that Troy uses the word "favorite" for the Fury 2, and not the ArGo.

Clearly the OP is just going to have to purchase a Fury 2, a Fierce, a Ghost, a Pax 3, and an ArGo.

Thank you for your inputs fellows
Is this a jazz club – artsy and intimate? Go for the ArGo.

Is this a punk/hard-core/metal/dance club – loud and chaotic? Go for the Fury (or the Fierce).
We're talking more punk/hardcore style concerts, in those conditions the haptic feedback of the Fierce might be very nice, I will go through its thread as there aren't many reviews on reddit for some reason ... however it doesnt look very pocketable, for instance even if I can put my LB in my back pocket its not really a pocketable vape for me

I wanted to get a cheapo fury from ebay to make my own opinion on the HR family, but unfortunately the gring house deal seems to be over

As for the Argo vapor quality I've read very different reviews, which makes me think that this vape might be very picky about its packing and draw technique

I think you're exactly right. While packing (and grind) and draw rate takes a while to sort out for every vaporizer newly acquired, the correct draw is something folks either get or don't get with the ArGo. In terms of its draw, less is more; one should receive rather than take. If I was not able to get clouds from my ArGo closely akin in size and density to those I get from my Mighty, I would have sold the former long ago.

I think the ArGo is best suited to more experienced vaporizers (and this is not a judgment call against you or anyone else in the thread). You will note that experienced reviewers such as Troy and Sneaky Pete don't have an issue with either its draw or cloud production.

I think the Fierce might be a good fit due to replaceable battery and haptic feedback. But haptic feedback only works if you can feel it; I don't always feel my Mighty's haptic prompt. You've got to find the right pocket, I suppose.

And if you're still thinking about the Fury, depending where you are, it might be worth checking out the Fenix Mini:

@bossman and @Summer I your judgment, what are your feelings about the proprietary battery? I've had a FF2 and still own my Grasshopper and swore I'd stay away from proprietary batteries.. I have also sworn of non-swappable batteries.
I feel like the battery life could be better but I wouldn't trade a larger size overall. Not like the Fury 2 where I wouldn't mind if it were a bit bigger because it's tiny and the battery life is my only knock on it.

They don't charge an unreasonable price for them and it does the job of never having it unavailable.

Honestly though, if I weren't in a legal state I'd start with the Fury 2 despite the poor battery life. It just disappears so well in the pocket and the hand. If four or five high temp sessions isn't enough for a night out you can add a dinky power bank.

I prefer the vapor quality of the Fierce, but when you raise the Fierce to your mouth folks are gonna be able to see it.

But wait, you're not the OP so you don't necessarily care about that. In general I don't have a problem with the proprietary battery but I guess it'd be a bit tidier if it ran on 18650s like my Splinters and Lil Bud. At least the Fierce is new tech with USB C. I prefer a battery pack to a propriety charger like the Mighty.

Denis69 – I'm really thinking you should seriously consider the Fierce. In you haven't seen it yet, bossman has some very helpful information on the Fierce in this thread:

http://fuckcombustion.com/members/bossman.35599/

I'm actually probably going to pick one up after reading bossman's post in that thread.

Surely you can come up with some means to be stealthy with it? It's not really that big.

It is going to be a tide match between the Go and the Fierce ...
I really do like the footprint and glass stem on the Go, but I must admit the steady vapor production shown of these Fierce videos is very tempting and the process of updates shows some great care about the product/client
I will probably go with the one having the biggest discount

Maybe somebody having both of them could chime in ...

On the other hand I dont trust much any youtube reviewers, they all seem very optimist and pleased to me whatever the product they are reviewing, but maybe its just me :ninja:

Are you familiar with the tighter draw resistance of Arizer portables? That alone would sway me in a head to head with those two.

Once I got a Fierce I gave my Solo II to a friend because I prefer the draw resistance among other things. And that friend bought a Fury 2 soon after because he didn't care for the Arizer draw resistance either. The Fierce is gonna be the bigger cloud producer too.

I still owe the forum a promised comparison between the Fury2 and the ArGo, since I never felt I have the time to do a comparison that would be worth it.

So, I will post my opinion in this thread in a short form.

I own both Vapes and have used them both enough to form an opinion I think. Both Vapes are great to use and I like them both for different reason but would go for a Fury2, if I had to choose one of them.

The ArGo is great, because it has a good flavour, is super-easy to clean, has a swappable standard batterie and is super tiny and therefore stealthy. What I dislike is, that it gets very hot on a certain spot and because of that I can not palm it, at least inside the house or at places with at least room temperature. I used it outside in winter and was able to palm it, because it cooled down enough. I personally also dislike the draw resistance and that I need at least an eight minute session to be baked. What can be annoying or useful regarding on how you see it, is that the ArGo does not produce large clouds. If you are a cloud chaser it is annoying but regarding stealth it might be useful.

The Fury2 is great, because it is tiny and very versatile. You can use it with glass-stems at home, which in my opinion brings the flavor on par with the ArGo. You can use a WPA and use it on your glass piece in a very convenient way and when you are out, you have the very stealthy plastic mouthpiece and the option to use capsules, which makes it even stealthier, if you want to refill. Also, it is self contained and smell-proof with the silicone cover and looks like some kind of inhalater with it (for my ArGo I always use a little photo-camera hard shell case). The batterie lasts for 6 to 8 four minute sessions and can be charged easily with a power-bank. Obviously the non-swappable batterie is a weak spot but after about 1,5 years of good usage from me and my GF it still goes strong and we did not really recognize any degradation. Eventhough I am not a cloud chaser per se, I like it to have some visual feedback while vaping and I enjoy the enhanced cloudage of the Fury2 more than what I can see when using the ArGo even if it is less stealthy. I also like the draw resistance better with the Fury2.

Why would I choose the Fury2 over the ArGo? Price, versatility (stems, standard MP, WPA, capsules), better palmable and therefore stealthier because of no hot-spots, more visible vapour per draw, shorter sessions to get baked, faster heat-up time, better haptic feeling and it being self-contained with the sleeve. :2c:

You won't go wrong with the ArGo either but I personally prefer the Fury2 and would recommend it for the mentioned use-case of the OP. Did not use the other mentioned contenders and therefore can not advice on them or compare.

In any way, have fun with the Vape you choose in the end. Every Vape recommended so far seems to be a very solid choice. :)

The FW5 hits much harder than an Argo. Have both sold Argo, if that says anything. Fury or Fierce sound okay, maybe good or better.

FW5 is like a 5 bowl MV1, that you can fit in your pocket. It rocks.

@Brewervapesalot, don't get offended as I know how much you love your FW5, & I've heard wonderful things about it. But to me it's dang fugly looking. I love the styling of the Ghost, but I know others hate it.

Just wanted to share. ;)

I hear ya, but I can't say the MV1 looks any better. One you might mistake for kindling or stapler, and the other looks like a rocketship from a bad movie before technicolor...

Can I also suggest the new Sapphire by Storm? For £55 it works extremely well, very impressive in fact. Hits hard, extracts fast, barely any draw resistance, easy-peasy as pie to use.

Very smooth pleasant vapor and dense, sufficient clouds on the lower heat settings. Taste is decent, not at all unpleasant and did not appear to decline as the load went on.

Very even extraction too, stirting not entirely necessary for even ABV, although IMO a stir will always increase vapor production.

And very good effects. It medicated me very well. You can run through material quite quickly, not in a wasteful sense, but high tolerance and medical users could reach some heights with the Sapphire's extraction and hitting power. Especially on the higher heat settings which I never ventured towards.

Unfortunately, this is another great vaporizer which I cannot use myself due to strange intolerances, non-material based. I was really upset about this. I coukd see this device as a daily driver and be pretty content without a desktop. Which is 8mpressive for such a small, light, neat, cheap and easy to use portable.

I really feel more people should know about it anyway.

I can't remember if the OP made a decision yet. I finally picked up a Fury 2 after reading @bossman thoughts on it.

I must say I'm pretty underwhelmed.

Taste: 5/10
Clouds: 6/10
Battery life: 3/10

But, of course this is a case of "You get what you pay for." I've paid about $150 for the unit, and it performs just how one should expect an inexpensive vaporizer to perform.

I ended up selling my ArGo, since I couldn't get along with the short stem. I should have kept the ArGo, ordered one of Sneaky Pete's extended stems, and passed on the Fury 2.

Perhaps there is some fine tuning/technique which maybe employed to optimize the performance? @bossman any tips?

I'd never rate low temp performance as its strong suit but using glass accessories and lowering the temp is the best way to improve flavor.

The Fury 2's best virtues are its pocketable size and the convenience of microdosing with the wpa or bent stem, though the tiny straw size of the latter will always make it more restrictive.

I use mine for convenient vaping out where a quick heater and more open draw resistance are important. At home I'd only use it with water or a bent stem setup for my significant other as I have a Fierce and the bent stem with a screen in it has more convection and better draw resistance.

Bummed to hear the Fury 2 isn't working out for you @John Coaltrain. Wish we'd figured out something that fit your needs better, man!

Well I wasn't really searching for anything (happy with my Solo II, Mighty, and OmniVap). I purchased more out of curiosity, and the want of an ultra-portable to replace my ArGo. Maybe I'll just shop around for pants with larger pockets so I can bring the Mighty with me.

Perhaps I spoke too soon with my criticisms. I have to experiment a little more with grinds, packing density, flower humidity, etc.

I will say that both the taste and clouds are best (for me, so far) with the bent glass stem.

So I'll give it more time. I tend to agree with most of what you say – on any thread – and I've read so many positive words from others as well on the Fury 2, that I've got to think that I've just not found a good technique yet.

I'll sort this cheeky girl out eventually. And, damn – she's just so cute: who wouldn't love her?
