The Lotus Vaporizer

About 3 weeks into it now. Using it at least once a day and usually more. For some reason it medicates me better with less material used than anything else in my collection of vaporizers, maybe because of the on demand mode being less wasteful by only delivering vapor when inhaling as opposed to smoldering away in a conduction oven, or perhaps the full heating spectrum going from 25 to around 400 degrees Celsius in just a few seconds makes the difference, maybe both, IDK ?

Method of enjoyment : I usually put about 1\3 of a bowlful in at a time, put in 1\3, hit it once (or twice on the first cold start or if it's not cooked enough after stirring), stir, put in another 1\3 on top of that, repeat, stir, fill up again (last 1/3) and finish it off. Works for me. I can usually pull off 2 or 3 bowlfuls like this in the time it takes my partner to do a 10 minute session on her Solo.

I never liked the idea of stirring between hits but on this vaporizer I WANT to see how much heat damage I did to the material inside after each hit and then I just happen to have the lid (slides off so easily) in my hand with the attached stir stick already to probe and poke the load a bit before adding a bit more plant matter to the bowl if needed.

Screen needs cleaning often, (every few days for me) but that's part of the price of stirring often and convection vapes in general I think. Good news is it takes less than a minute to get it out, burn it off, cool, brush and reinstall it.

So, loving it yes..... BUT the only downside to this story is the lighters. I have 3 now, none of which I'm totally happy with, I like using the little Honest that was included, the tiny flame is almost perfect but every time I fire it it refuses to shut off after letting go of the trigger. Unsafe, annoying and wasteful of fuel. The large one that I already had before buying my Lotus is OK turned down to minimum flame but is heavy, large and awkward. I bought a "Flamey" last week, it was kind of expensive and really nothing special, (needs to be reset with each use, hard to purge\fill, flame a bit "wide" if that makes sense, not a fine point). I suppose I'll keep searching for one that's the right fit. At least they're less expensive than vaporizers, lol.

Most likely going to order anther top and the 14mm adapter sometime in the next couple of weeks, I've never been much of a "glass" guy but I could see this vaporizer steering me into that direction. It would be nice to see the vapor forming visually after using the black aluminum stem exclusively.

Awesome device !

I hear you. So many of the torches are just cheap pieces of shit. I bought a bag of them on someone's recommendation and not one of them would generate a good ⅝" flame. The Jobon lighter they're carrying on site now is good, however.

GLASS BonG’s grossed me out when they were introduced to CIVIL EXISTENCE.
Lotus with a small mouth piece on a glass piece converted me!
GLASS and the LOTUS R A decent combo? POV

When looking for a good lighter I suggest getting a blazer pb207. Costly but they ended the continous buying of cheaper ones for me. Besides lighting every time, having a large tank and a big yet adjustable flame, it's the flame-locking mechanism that I love.

Plus if you like the lotus, you will get more butane driven vapes so a good lighter will become an essential tool.

Cheers

I've never found a cheap straight (phrasing) lighter that worked decently and never bought one online because it seems it would just be weird and awkward to use. Am I just plain wrong? Also, is the fuel level in the tank visible? Is the child-lock feature a fiddly pain? Can it be comfortably be lit and flame-locked using just one hand while maintaining a safe grip?

Looking for lighters right now. My old standbys are becoming hard to source. I've been using a locally available Regal/Zico $20.00 model for home use since I realized that the upper end "stop" on the flame adjustment dial becomes a mild speed bump once you blow through it a few times enabling perfect flame size for the Lotus. Decent lighter, nice hefty feel, all metal, solid build but the flame ignitor switch eventually fails and isn't fixble. If my retailer re-stocks, I'll stock a few at the price point.

My other need is for a solid, dependable option for the road and trail. The standard Honest one is an adequate option that fulfills the basic functions in a compact package, more-or-less dependable until it isn't. I've had good luck with the Vapman lighter which is essentially a beefed-up, better fit and finish, larger capacity version of he Honest with a much more solid, satisfying feel and operation. Like the Honest, you don't want to leave it out in strong sunlight on a hot day and will rupture if it is dropped and lands wrong on a hard pointed surface. Any suggestions for a small, dependable, durable lighter with a visible tank that is an upgrade on the Honest.

Any news on a President's day rebate code?

Ordered the WPA today, want to see the vapour forming in glass. Somewhere on line I saw a simple J-hook with legs (nubs) on the bottom so it could be sat down on a flat surface, I've got used to doing that between hits with the aluminum stem. Can't seem to find that site today..... anybody seen something like that..... suggestions.

I do not own and have not owned any glass pieces up until now, want to start off simple, looked in one LHS, (a bit overwhelming), there's another one I haven't checked out yet so far. I'm probably going to blame the Lotus for this new intere$t in such items.

http://www.planetvape.ca/cane-gun-glass-j-tube.html

Found this one but comes in 18mm only, I'm trying to set up a few different vaporizers to fit one or two pieces, going with 14mm for now.

Does the Vaporcane come in 14mm ? I couldn't find it on first try google, Prefer to order in Canada but not a deal breaker. Still need to check one of the LHSs........

Didn't have much luck searching vaporcane, led to a CBD sales site ?

I'm an idiot. I meant the cane gun  Yeah, you'd need an 18-14 adapter but those are cheap and small.

An adapter doesn't leak any amount of noticeable air nor make the stacking\fitting any taller and or less stable ? Seems like a work around, I think I might like a direct fit better. Might have to look at some kind of mini bubbler as opposed to the j-hook maybe.

15% Discount all weekend.
Happy Birthday Abe and George.

Hhmmmmm...... I ordered today (Saturday, Feb 16th). I must have missed it. Damn !

The LOTUS bowl size is perfect!

I also think the size is ideal... I could perhaps go for a wider/shallower bowl, but I don't think I need anything deeper.

FWIW, I am fully extracting the lotus with 1-3 large draws. I'd personally rather reload fresh than have a larger bowl.

That would be good with me....I would love to have 2-3 good pulls and reload if needed and get full flavor again. I will be happy if it sort of simulates something like a combustion bowl or B hit kinda deal. Like when you have a bigger bowl on a B and light it for 3 hits to cash it.

Basically full power quickly and then put it away or step away to go back to what ever you were 5 mins ago.
