The Nomad From Morwood

I wish I could have used one of these beautifully crafted vaporizers, but was afraid limited hand dexterity would have made it to much of an ordeal. Still have one major concern about all the glowing feedback and comments regarding Dan's incredible workmanship. Majority of comments seem to be about how to improve the aesthetics or function of the Nomad, and if uninitiated to the Nomad, one would surmise this is a piece of art and not necessarily a very functional and top performing convection vaporizer. I hope there will be more posts praising its performance and versatility so potential viewers will be more motivated to own one, thus giving Dan substantial economic resources to continue his current excellent work, as well as perhaps developing something similar to the handful of 510 box mod vaporizers being made elsewhere. Anyway, just a thought. Seeing what Dan has created with an unregulated on-demand convection vaporizer I can only imagine what he could design and manufacture with something not requiring so much integrated electrical circuitry.

Not sure there's any integrated circuitry or chips under the hood here. Seems mostly a combination of inspiration, master craftsmanship and a great form of vaping (unregulated convection). Seems also that it fits the 'portable' bill quite nicely. I'm psyched. I'll be using one soon. My guess is that it works just fine and I won't need to do too much reporting back.

If you look back there are several experienced users who have given good to great reviews and very few people with issues (which is a little surprising with an unregulated vaporizer), they just get a little buried in such a long thread where so many of us don’t have a Nomad in our hands yet!

It would be nice to get a couple of more in-depth video reviews though, and maybe I’ll give it a shot once I have mine, but I’m in batch 3 so it’ll be several months to get it built and to get to know it. An established reviewer or two with a broader range of experience with other devices would probably do a better job though.

For now there are some videos earlier in the thread, including usage and some discussion if I remember correctly. I know @duff at least has posted some if you want to search for his posts in this thread.

@VaporWare I think what @CL52613 was saying is that he knows all that..since he's been following the thread, but for a new comer it'd be difficult to dig up the reviews on function.

With only 25 in the wild so far, it's no surprise really. I'm actually super happy about the amount of positive feedback out there already! A quick google search and a little dig will bring it all up.

Dammit!
I can't get imgbb to work :bang:
Which link do I need to copy!

This is very frustrating.
I have tried every link offered by imgbb, both in the FC image box and just pasted into this text field and nothing works :cuss:
I wanna brag on the gorgeous piece of art Dan's making for me, not ride this cut and paste merry-go-round!

Anyone got any tips/guidance?

Edit:
Oh, one of them did show up, I think.
Can everyone else see it?

If you can, I should say that the collar will be a little different, but the body is how it will look, gorgeous eh?

Here's what I do:
1) Once you've uploaded the picture to imgbb, click on the thumbnail to open the full size version of the image,
2) then right-click the image and select "Open Image in New Tab". It should open in the new tab with just the picture and nothing but black around it.
3) Then copy what's in the address bar of your browser. That is the web address you paste in the box to insert the image here on FC.

It sounds complicated, but literally only takes a few seconds when you're used to it.

Many thanks man, I'll give that a go next time I have a pic' to post

Just want to say that mine will be coming at some point- I'm hoping for it around my birthday at the end of March but I'm ok waiting too. I'm in the current batch that's being finished. I'm writing because I have limited dexterity as well and have had trouble with a couple of vapes and several lighters. So will be writing about this when I get it.
Probably not in depth. I notice that with most of the vapes I'm using right now that quite a few posts are about best ways to program settings- especially with the box mod ones. I'm not tech enough to care. I mainly am interested in whether I can get it to work and if its effective enough.

Mockup for Nomad #059. Went with a bit of a different stem collar and getting 2 different sleeves and am super excited for it. What do you guys think?

Well fucking done.

Love the originality. Love the mushroom theme. Love the colors. Will be the best Nomad on the planet for sure...in my opinion.

Been kind of sick of seeing so many Japanese themed sleeves, no hate, just not my thing.

Thanks! The design came out way better than I could have ever hoped.

And funny you say that because I remember talking with Dan early on about giving this Nomad a "japanese forest" type of vibe. In fact, the design overall was very much inspired by Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki films, specifically
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. :)

Love the button cover. It sure adds to the oh oh did that guy just flip a switch on his interstellar vortex eliminator vibe.

Should say REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT?:D

I know exactly what you mean. I am also using a box mod vaporizer and am not really interested in the different ways to get it to perform through some complicated programming for the mod. I just want to turn on the mod and get copious flavorful vapor production. Personally, I find vaporizers that have a learning curve are usually less satisfying and require a certain amount of concentration, which for me is a little self defeating. Heck if I had to learn how to smoke back in the day, I am 66 years old, I probably would not have enjoyed it as much as I did. But everyone is different, as the numerous vaporizers on the market proves.

We're close to the same age- maybe it's a generation issue. My first computer in my twenties had 2 floppies and no hard drive. If I'd grown up with different technology I might be more interested in fooling around with the box mods.

Think it's just a preference thing. I'm in my 20's and a big tech-head but have zero interest in box mods. I actually thought a bit about whether or not to even get a Nomad simply because it's not a "pick up and go" type of vape. Heck, my daily driver is a Pax. I know there's so many other vapes out there that are better and cheaper, but you can't beat simplicity in my opinion.

Just to add a little confidence, Personally I find the Nomad to be very grab and go, super easy to use. Yes there is a learning curve at first, but the reward is simplicity and ease of function.

It's like learning to ride a bike, at first it seems challenging, but once you get the hang of it it's effortless.

@mourningbell , Monday. I'd like to get some good photos of these, so that'll be the next couple days while it snow storms up here.

Here is a big photo dump. I'll be emailing everyone individually with their Nomad photos tomorrow for final confirmation of design, confirm address, or custom sleeve discussion.

The raw kraft photos here are either soon to be custom painted, collaged, stamped, or wax/oil finished. These photos just show the raw light coloured kraft. The wax/oil finish darkens these sleeves considerably, just so ya knows.

Not all of the Nomads are here, don't panic if yours is missing, haha.
