Vaponic Herbal Vaporizer

I recently saw a Dynavap video about heating tips and for me, the most interesting tip was alcohol lamp. A few days later I modified my salt shaker and took my Vaponic for the spin in a soft flame.

This was one of the best sessions I ever had.
The lights were out, it was completely quiet in the room, no tv, no music, just me, Vaponic and a small alcohol flame.

It was a totally different experience, so relaxing, so soothing.
No loud click from the torch, no hissing from the burning butane, nothing.

I think we all need this from time to time.

I have mentioned a few times that Vaponic works best for me with an Alcohol lamp. Maybe a few pages back i have posted a graphic about distance from flame and temp relation.
Alcohol lamps are great ,check out the Biovapo. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vaponic-herbal-vaporizer.6052/page-26#post-1258521
The flame temperature distribution at different heights of the alcohol burner. The abscissa denotes the vertical height relative to the flame nozzle and the ordinate denotes the corresponding temperature of the symmetrical core of the flame.

I like to hold the vaponic/cheaponic deep into the flame, around the 400-500 mark."
Forgot to add that your should best avoid to use alcohol lamp with vapcaps.. There is too much heat transfer to the area with the rings. Those work better with torches.

Oh wow...now I'm looking at vacuum coffee makers damnit, I already have a cold brew one ordered.
I only came to complain!

I just had two lovely terpy awesome bowls in my vaponic. But now I feel too wrecked to manage another without combusting, burning myself or breaking my vape somehow. I just thought, I need to look through this thread for a stand of some sort, surely I've read it before but I don't remember one. The rubber cap is great but not all that stable when I'm stoned, it's not actually fell over but I'm scared it will.

I have an alcohol lamp on order! I'm thinking if I just need to concentrate on the vape and not worrying about the torch I can get higher with it safely.
This post is fairly pointless, I just wanted to complain because I wanted another bowl but I'm too high to vape another bowl. Actually, I've been writing this post for long enough I think I can now, I spent a while looking at vacuum coffee makers on amazon after I used google image search to find out what that actually was lol.

Hey!
So I'm back into the Vaponic after a 6 year break. Per your advice I bought a laboratory alcohol lamp and it works really well indeed.
My first choice at home is the Vapocane, with the larger "peanut" glass pipe and a big torch. The Vaponic sure delivers a different experience. It's the yin to the Vapocane's yang and just as awesome.
After the second round the stalk was full of condensed oils, which I vaped by heating it with a small torch... mmmm yummy.
Life's good :)

I just had my first session with the Vaponic since ages and still think that this is a fantastic vape. I do not use it often enough, that's obvious. Taste is through the roof with that thing! That last session was incredibly satisfying. Everybody should have a Vaponic in their collection!

I agree @Dynavaper!
A connoisseur experience for such a low price (especially if you live in Europe, I saw a website where you can buy the Vaponic for less than 30 Euros), well suited for microdosing and one of the easiest vapes to clean.

The Vaponic "stands or falls" with the heating technique. I tried various lighters with single and multiple flames and even though I had good results with a triple flame torch, I must confess that the single lighter still gives me the best and most consistent results.

@Dutch-Mic If you can get yourself (2-3$ on Aliexpress) or DIY an alcohol lamp i recommend it. Those things are made for heating test tubes, beats all my torches. Kind of feels like using the dynavap with a torch vs an IH,it heats evenly on all sides and it is so much faster, also less stress on the glass :)..Forgot to mention that i love rosin pancakes in the morning :)).
Just took a side by side session on the Alcohol lamp vs Dynavap on the IH and i can say it doesnt even comes halfway close to the taste that the vaponic delivers.

I saw a post in the Vapman thread:

I find the Vaponic very hard to "read" and my results with it are still mixed, somehow I can't find way to get an intuitive feeling for it.

I use the Vaponic almost daily and the only way I can get consistent results is by counting. My heating routine with a single flame lighter:

- Depending on the strain a heat up time between 28 and 30 seconds (one- Mississippi, two- Mississippi, etc.)
- Inhale three times for about three seconds.
- 15 seconds reheat
- Three inhalations
- 15 seconds reheat
- etc.

If you grind your material (I put tiny nugs in the Vaponic) then you should heat and reheat it a bit less long. I hope this post helps to get more consistent results!

Hey @Dutch-Mic thank's for the detailed instructions.

Because I posted in the Vapman thread I did not want to go into too much detail about the Vaponic. I guess my remark about the Vaponic might come over as a little negative and as if I have given up on it or don't like it. But the opposite is the truth, I really like the Vaponic.

I think the Vaponic really shines, when it comes to clean and unaltered taste and if you own a Ultra-Sonic cleaner it is a dream to maintain. I also like that you can take several tokes which are extremely smooth after you have it at the right temperature and that there is almost no draw restriction. Not to forget the very fair price of under 40€.

After some trying, I normally use a triple jet-flame lighter to heat the Vaponic. For the first time I heat it about 10 to 15 seconds depending on the lighter flame. I then take a first and second toke to test temperature/vapor production. I have recognized that the second toke is a better indicator for me to know if I have to apply more heat. I have the feeling that the heat is distributed better by then and I normally get more vapor on the second toke.

Before knowing that, I applied more heat to the Vaponic after the first toke if I did not see the desired vapor, which most times led to me overheating. After realizing that, I rarely overheated again.

After the first heating cycle, I reheat for about 5 to 8 seconds. Per heating cycle I normally take 3 to 5 tokes.

What I also recognized is, that the high of the Vaponic is very positive. I don't know how to describe it better, since I don't think that my other vapes give me a negative vibe after using them but somehow the high from the Vaponic gives me a very (maybe more) positve vibe most times I use it.

But as I have to "work" harder and have to be more attentive than with the Vapman or Omnivap (especially with induction heater) it is more of a special occasions Vape which I use regular nonetheless.

@Dutch-Mic I will definitely test the Vaponic with a single jet-flame lighter this evening and will try it with your instructions. :brow::tup:

I hoped it worked out for you! About inconsistent results: today my wife entered the living room while I was heating the Vaponic and she started to talk enthousiastically about something. I focused on her story while still heating the Vaponic. After a while she asked what that smell was....I combusted

Something else, a week or two ago I was a bit lazy and didn't put the Vaponic back in its wooden casing after cleaning all the glass parts. I used it for a while without the casing and must admit that the glass version also feels good in the hand. I still prefer the plus when I'm not alone in the house or share it with friends, but for a late night armchair session the regular Vaponic is also very enjoyable, a nice"Jointesque" experience.

I could be wrong, but it seems that Solwe doesn't sell the Vaponic Plus anymore from their website. European webshops like Vaposhop and Verdampftnochmal still have them in stock. According to the Instagram page from the product manager of Vaposhop, there are fifty of them left and after that 'it won't be available for a long long time.' I recommend to buy the plus ASAP if you want one.

I never use Vaponic outside, so I don't have any convenience in the new wood housing over the fake pen. It's sad but pretty clear Vapcaps outmarketed Vaponic, I bet vaposhop will come out with a discount sooner or later.
I try not to spread VAS when I can, but thanks for the information.

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered a backup from vaposhop.
