that stinks! how was it doa? coplights ? yeah if im going the 510 route with mod im looking at the @Bravesst lil bud elite. i like the form factor better. those 510 vapes are too tall for my liking

@voodoo_vape i hope it gets back to you better then ever.

get it done hopper labs.

Many thanks for your kind words man :) let's hope that it gets back like that..

This will be a significant 'upgrade' in my vaping experience once I have my pretty purple unit working agan. This time GH won't be my daily driver so that it lasts a bit longer this time.
Dynavap has managed to put themselves among the very best reliable and efficient vapes in the market and most certainly those vapes are built to last for a lifetime....

I have been waiting for a long time to see / read / hear that The Grasshopper solves the problems and becomes reliable ... but that never comes :bang:... is there hope ? or dream awake ? :mental:
Some are happy, some are not. A lot seems to depend on one's expectations.
Some are still hopeful, some have lost hope.
Reliability has been elusive and if this is an over riding concern, you should continue to wait.

The only thing that annoys me from some users that post here in the GH thread, is the fact that they're trying to excuse most of the shitty attitude that this company has towards their customers. No matter if its a penny or 1,000 bucks the CS MUST be professional and reliable at all times...
Of course, I'm not referring to you @vapviking .. your reply is very reasonable and realistic to a certain extend.
Personally, I hate feeling that I'm being ignored. Even during the, almost one-year time, waiting time, I was not so unhappy as I'm now that they don't bother replying on time. This is totally unacceptable. I'd rather get bullshitted rather not a reply at all... Tell me psycho, I don't know what.. maybe yer right...
If you want your customers to respect you, be there for them... Don't act like a DICK and don't bother to reply at all... They've told me for another 5 days. Tomorrow will be the 5th.. and I'm pretty sure that I won't have that freaking tracking number... And I also know that they don't care... otherwise they wouldn't do it so intensely...

My rma that came back last week was supposed to be preceded by a shipping notification with tracking info., which is standard for most places, and I did not get this time. Last word I had was to look for that notification in about 5 days. Day 6, the Hopper arrived in the mail.

I purchased a hopper. It broke a month after I bought it. I sent it in.
It came back a month later, so I used it.
After a month, it broke again. I sent it in.
Two months later, I had it back again. But it broke shortly thereafter.

It's been almost a year since I opened my last RMA. I contacted them in November to see what was going on with my repair, and they gave me a window of 30-60 days. It's been longer. Fuck this noise.

I've been on the Dynavap train hardcore for the past 12 months. All analog; nothing to break -- ever. No warranty claims. No waiting on bullshit battery chargers that will never materialize. Hits beautifully through glass... Did I mention they're cheaper?

Expect that it will break, let you down, and be one of the most undependable vapes on the active market. We all love the performance, but that is being eclipsed by the rest of the kaka emanating from GH.

I made this my Hopper motto and what can I say? It's been working just great for nearly 7 months daily use now. I guess Voodoo works.

Sadly this is how my love affair went with grasshoppers as well. They just weren't something I could take out of the house and trust. One too many times I took it somewhere and got flashing lights or a completely incinerated bowl. It just wasn't reliable and that was just too much for me. Every time I picked it up at home I expected it to not work and was shocked every time it did.

Finally I couldn't handle the stress of it and worrying about sending the things back into a black hole so I got rid of them and landed on the Dynavap train hard. I have induction heaters now, and when those aren't, I have torches. There are no special components to break, nothing, just a metal tube that with an induction heater, can hit harder / as hard as a grasshopper.

That was the end of my grasshopper story sadly. They never were able to provide what I needed. Because I needed something that just worked all the time without me having to worry about it.

Now by no means am I trying to take the thread off track. I was just trying to emphasize that the lack of reliability was the issue. Not the performance. I have found similar performance with dynavaps much like a lot of other people in the thread. But I also recognize that there are those here who have NOT had issues with their hoppers and are quite happy.

So I'm not trying to rain on anyones parade or try to shill for another company. I was just sharing my experience working my way through 4 different grasshoppers.

Don't forget to bring a towel, and a spare hopper

Re-posting this because I forgot how bad imgur sucks.

Nice to see this thread still moves along at a strong clip, took me a while to catch up

Last time I checked in my og green ti hopper had started working again and I was happy. Then it stopped working again; when I turn it on it goes to blue way too quickly without heating up at all. I finally received my bluetak and will get to work on it with that, the compressed air again, and the deoxit. We'll see.

But it really doesn't bum me out that much because my new v5 plain ti arrived about a week ago

It doesn't run quite as hot as my og unit but it's close. The only obvious difference between them is the chamfered hole in the charging attachment where it attaches to the hopper, my og unit just has a plain hole. The unit itself is superficially the same as the unit I received years ago, right down to the packaging.

Here's my new hopper family:

The og unit has become a spare battery charger until I send it in.
The "vape tool" (real product name) pictured above works great with the hopper:science:

:myday:

@grokit , at some point you will be able to use the new/good ones' parts to determine whether the problem lies with your other Hopper's body or its' back end. This advantage alone is, imo, a great reason to have a second Hopper.
When these self-diagnoses are reported on rma, HL has been swapping components, sending a new back end or body and then you return the bad one.
I recently posted my story, when they sent me a 'rebuilt' or 'reconditioned' or whatever you may call it -- a body -- in less than two weeks! Works fine, looks fine. (I would have had to wait in a looong line had I wanted my exact body repaired.)

My Blue super unit has seemingly lost its magic.

Hasn't been looked after and has been badly abused when shared around groups, with it being left on a heap and what not. It took over as my daily driver and got used every opportunity, I've used the Sub once since having it back. Maybe that has thrown me off.

But, it just isn't making those fuck-off-massive clouds anymore. It's taking a few more seconds to heat up and delivering cooler temps and tanned ABV consistent with the other hoppers I have on hand.

Though, I'm getting better terps and harder hitting hits off my HT unit now
The blue unit does better toked directly vs. through the bong?
Hard to quantify the amount of high, but when it's less than expected it throws me off more than actually toking a known weak source.

I don't know, the extra heat goes a long way for potency and being capped at 210 is a bit lacklustre by direct comparison. A little disappointed but still, at least they're working. But that blue unit was unreal for a time. Someone should competently make something that does that (portable sublimation), because it's on alternate levels. The GH on it's best day is actually incredible, as good as it is short lived.

All that said, I'm open to the idea I've just built my tolerance up too high. But this has played out fairly similar to every other time I've had this particular unit. Regardless, some beers and some hoppers is still all time, can't go wrong with a Furphy and a bong :)

But I'll have to go elsewhere for my night caps, and that sucks

edit: it's possible the plain Ti can do night caps with the double click method. Making some proper clouds over here still

Hey everyone, I recently bought a used Ti hopper with a doa spare body, instead of paying the $45 dollars to transfer the warranty the seller just gave me the account details. For the life of me I can't figure out how to reopen the warranty claim previously made on the spare body so I can get it replaced. Could any of you fine people point me in the right direction?

HL couldn't answer that when I wanted to know, told me to just open a new one. It makes no difference in how it will be handled.
