Looking for some help making my choice:

In this thread Recommendations to replace my broken Davinci
I was looking for recommendations to get a new vaporizer, for myself and for my wife to use.
After doing quite a bit of reading on the Internet and here on FC, Best portable vaporizer for asthma ( very informative comments by Squiby )
and this thread, I have come to the conclusion I want a Dynavap.

My wife has become very sensitive to vaping, a couple of days ago she used our Volcano and spend the night having a severe asthma attack.
Now this might be due to a the fact that the balloon was quite old, I don't know.
Anyway, we need a new vaporizer and I believe the Dynavap might be what i want.
I have a few technical questions:

1.
I looked carefully at all the different models and configurations and decided on the OmniVap XL Titanium.

Titanium because apparently some people are sensitive to the taste of the stainless steel.
I for one, am extremely sensitive to smells and taste.

The OmniVap because of the Omni Mouthpiece, which I think would be an advantage, you don't have to learn about this ' airhole regulator '

the XL model because it has a slightly longer path which might give a cooler result?

I don't want to start out with the cheapest model, my wife is extremely a-technical and is averse to getting used to new gadgets, due to her ADD, ( which by the way, responds fantastically to CBD oil ) , so I want to avoid getting used to one model and then perhaps later on having to start all over on another one.

What do you guys think of this choice?

2.0 .
We have no experience whatsoever with glass, but I'd really like to try if using the OmniVap with a glass bong will make the vapor more smooth.
( I know a need the little flexible adapter for this).
Any tips on how to go about this exactly? Plenty of youtube videos about people using a bong with a portable vape, but I haven't found exact instructions yet.

Naturally any tips or thoughts will be very welcome!

If you use the fat mouthpiece with glass you just put it on the regular mouthpiece, heat the cap, stick the mouthpiece in your 14mm glass and inhale (covering the air hole if you want to).

Alternatively you can use 10mm glass with the normal Omni mouthpiece, or the best option in my opinion is to get a NonaVonG stem too so you can swap it out with the regular Omni stem and use it with 14mm glass more easily. The process is the same but you don’t have to hold it in place and it creates a better seal easier.

If you still need to replace your Volcano later, check out the Herborizer. It’s cheaper than the FlowerPot in Europe since it’s made in France, but like the FlowerPot and Volcano it’s a great convection vaporizer, and like the FP you use it with glass instead of bags.

OmniVap XL Titanium. Titanium because apparently some people are sensitive to the taste of the stainless steel. I for one, am extremely sensitive to smells and taste.
The Ti Omni XL is a wonderful choice. You set your preferred air restriction and away you go. I also want to point out that the Ti VonGs have a titanium condenser as well but it is just a straight tube held in place with x-rings. Just another titanium option for you to think about.

the XL model because it has a slightly longer path which might give a cooler result?
The extra 17mm of length on the XL won't actually cool the vapor any more than the regular length, but the XL is awesome. I use the regular length for out and about because it's tinier and fits more easily in a pocket. I use the XL length at home. The XL can be more comfortable to twirl, especially if you have big hands.

So, you could get your Omni along with a VonG stem so you can switch out the titanium stem for the VonG stem. Or just get the OmniVonG which comes with the VonG stem.

The VonG stem will fit a 14mm joint on a water pipe. You can use it with water or just dry which many people prefer. You can read this thread that discusses their favourite water pieces.

I'm likin this idea. If you are thinking of using water often, the vongs work and seal way better on 14mm (or 18mm w/adapter) than the rubber MP or the 10mm connection. And like Squiby says you can even skip the Ti stem if you don't feel a need for it and just use the Vong.

Yes I noticed, but although I really do like wood, I do prefer the full titanium, Wonderful design.
@VaporWare
Didn't know about the NonaVonG stem possibility. Thank you for all the suggestions, I'll check them out.
@Squiby
So the consensus seems to be that if I'm going to use water more often the omniVong or the vong Stem Seems to be a better option than the mouthpiece.
EDIT:
You can read this thread that discusses their favourite water pieces.

@ataxian I think maybe you are looking at those arc lighters. They don't work for IH.
Here is @Pipes info page. I have the JarHead that has to be plugged in, but I think you would prefer the Portside Mini that is more portable, but still barely pocket-able. It'a a little over $100 plus shipping. I agree that is a lot for a lighter, but not really bad for an IH heater. There are a couple other folks out there making similar items...

You need BLING so you should get a TI VAPCAP of some Kind?
@Squiby might help you?
@stark1 or @cybrguy as well?
SS is what I like?

I don't clean nearly as much as I use to since I use @DDave Water Wands for 90% of my vapcap usage, but the tips still need to be cleaned every few months. I have 5 in rotation.

I tried a new way to clean them this afternoon. I soaked the tips in Everclear for a couple of hours, shaking them every once in a while, and then I poured the Everclear and the tips' goodies into a bloody mary mix. Rinsed the tips and screens in hot soapy water, then hot water, and they were sparkling like new. And dried out quickly

The bloody mary tasted quite good and is now in the process of kicking my ass. Consider it the edible form of cross-fading. And it has a helluva kick. Glad I got the to-do list to-done. Truly-put the car keys away if you try this: they were juicy dirty and the Everclear is 95% grain alcohol. 190 proof.

I use Everclear to Clean them sometimes too

Really not for BLING or gold teeth?
So I need to stop using the “M”?
Thank you for helping me figure it out!
I’ll throw the “M” away and order a TI.
I liked Da “M”?

Passive aggressive much?

Give it a break, man. We've been over this enough already. Several people (including me) have explained the differences between Ti and SS tips to you, so stop with the "Bling" BS, ok?

PM me if you need me to explain it all to you again.

Sorry to interrupt!
I will keep my thought to myself!
I was speaking my own perspective.

I think i’ll Keep using the “M” until I get my TI tip? My
This year the CANNABIS is a little stronger than previously expected?

@ataxian
Seem to be missing the point completely.
Not sure if you do that on purpose or what man but I’m just trying to clarify.... especially for new members in this thread that might be thinking about getting a Ti tip.

Nobody in this thread is saying that you need to get a Ti tip.

Use what works for you.

But constantly saying that it’s bling is just incorrect.

Have a good night man I’m gonna go vape some bowls now :peace:

Does anyone know how many different colored Omnivaps there have been so far? I know there was just green, and I'd seen blue before but I just saw a gold one too. I really liked the gold one I saw but unfortunately it was lots of money and wasn't an XL

One day in the future if it's possible with DynaVaps inventory I'd love to see all types of different colored metals, and Vong bodies/stems that used to be sold to be available again on their site!

The coloring process for titanium is a manual process I think, becuase to get it to that color requires precise heat.

Maybe Dynavap is tinkering with a new manufacturing process, until they get that right, the colored titanium Vapes were a one off.

The melonite coating on the Shadow M is much more durable than Ti flame anodizing. Maybe that's the standard of quality and durability they're aiming for.

My guess.

@Squiby and @cybrguy
your arguments to go for a Omnivong if I plan to use it with water make sense.
So I guess my choice will be for the Omnivong.

A couple of questions:
as far as I can gather all parts are exactly the same on the Omnivong vs Omnivap, e.g. titanium, (except the cap which is SS) ?

Are there any differences at all regarding the vaping experience due to the fact the Omnivap has a large titanium midpiece?

They not heat anodize the titanium, they use electro anodizing as shown in this video

Yes the only difference is the mid section when they are the same length. Normal length is not compatible with the XL condensers and vice versa.

No there is not a difference in Vapor quality, the only difference is the one is made from wood and can use natively with a water piece and is not so stable than the titanium one. The titanium is very stable and easier to clean but can get a little warm/hot while in use depending on the own heat resistence.
