When will a sale page come up for the XPLOR or another FC thread pop up on it? I'd like to see some more in depth write ups of it I have only seen you show it off during some live streams.

Also that's not to bad on the helix glass pieces being later I still want to get one of the wigwag styled ones but clear If they worked one out but I'd have to PM you and work out a PayPal transaction since the page is no longer up but as a pre-order customer you said we should still be able to do that.

I didn't want to go put in my upgrade glass right away and get one wigwagged I was waiting for the confirmation.

But if it is a no go that is fine I will just wait for other custom pieces to show up.

I actually just received a call from FocusV about 20 mins ago asking my preference for shipping. They offered to ship the Carta tonight and the Helix glass at a later date or wait and ship both at the same time. Being the impatient person I am I went with the first option.

I thought this was pretty damn good customer service and just wanted to share.

Yeah I got my shipping confirmation today as well which is nice the unboxing story on the IG page looks great!

The carrying case it comes with looks excellent!

Will you still be doing a live stream sometime today and will that be on YT or IG?

Yes you can still get the upgrade at any time if you pre ordered. They are made here in Austin at the helix facility (well just outside of austin actually) and can be made to order.

Appreciate the kind word! hope you enjoy your Carta!

OK, I am chomping at the bit to see your guys videos and thoughts!

I am so ready for these to get into the wild so we can start commissioning some custom glass and adapters.
I made this for the Switch last night, I will definitely want one for the Carta! ZC glass seems to always produce what I make one of for myself so he will probably be the guy.

I know it's slightly unrelated , but until you guys post your Carta videos , here's one of the adapters I speak of in action.

Pumped to see what all we can rig up to the Carta!

Just about time for this thread to move. Congratulations. Pressing an array of rosins in anticipation of my shipment tomorrow.

Very excited for everyone!

Just a FYI this should not be an issue but I want to put it out there ahead of anyone getting there carta.

The threading is a fine threading on the atomizer. Just make sure you do not cross thread your atomizer or you will have a bit of headache when trying to thread it in.

I only bring it up because I notice myself stopping and centering the threading (and I am notorious for cross threading when building things) lol

Long story short. Probably not going to be an issue for anyone but I just want to make sure I get any little tip I come across out there to you guys!

Soooo stoked for you guys to get them in! Now I won't be dabbing alone haha!

TPE and glass Vegas start today! If you are in the Vegas area and would like to attend either of them shoot me a DM and I can hook you up!

Any word on the custom glass for those of us that had their units held to be shipped together?

Carta has arrived and is charging. Initial observations:

1) the travel bag is sweet
2) cups are way smaller than the peak. In fact, quick caliper measurement puts id at 8.5mm and total height at 8.6mm
3) overall, the carta with stock glass is noticeably smaller than the peak

Sounds like its right about the size of my AVS Molecule quartz inserts.

I can't wait to hear whether you find this is a pro or a con. Seems like it could make it very efficient for some users, although pooling and hotter hits from lack of surface area would be a concern for me as that's smaller than the Sai bucket.

OK gents, first use update. Well, almost first use. I went ahead and did a lowest temp dry run to condition the Ti nail. Rut-roh. The cup instantly turned red, and the related/expected levels of oxidation occurred. Attached you will find the post dry run pics of the Ti cup. Clockwise from top left: exterior of cup, interior of cup, bottom of cup (wtf?) and the heater plate itself, with significant discoloration to whatever happened there on the bottom of the cup.

Don't have exact measurements but it's about 1cm shorter and 1cm slimmer at the base than the Peak. Not a huge difference, but the stock glass is nice and fat. Much better than Peak glass. Agree that cup is notably smaller, but atomizer also feels much sturdier. Maybe a little too sturdy - I'm having a little trouble twisting off the top to swap in the quartz cup  Mine came fully charged. First test with titanium cup at level 1 was delicious and pretty smooth. Left some dark residue at the bottom of the cup that mostly wiped off with qtip after running the unit again at level 3. Surprised by how hard it hit me, but according to the manual, level 1 is 626°. Much different experience than hitting the ceramic Peak cup at 450 or 500.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the quick notes! I want to make the final production unit the best it can be!

With that in mind please please don't hold back on your feedback

I would love to know exactly the changes you feel are needed! This way we all have a final product in March that satisfies everyone!

Also don't forget preorder users feel free to abuse your units! I got you covered on final production replacement!

Mine should be waiting on me at home so I can't wait to finish work for the day to check it out!

The pictures above with the titanium oxidation that normally happens when the temperature is too hot on the lower quality thinner titanium nails no?

And do we only get one coil to mess around with on the pre-order kits?

Now that’s what I like to hear!

Well, after that freaky dry run, I came back around to a first dab. Hit power on and then melted a .05 ish of live res onto the Ti. Bubbling nicely as the haptic let me know it was time to cap and enjoy. And enjoy I did, first few wispy rips were very tasty. New couple were cloudy and getting less flavorful. At this point, the thing just kept going. I did not. I tapped 5 times and tapped out. A quick qtip didn’t come back with much of anything. The effect 20 min later is very, very good.

Ok after some uses it seems to me that the temperature might be fluctuating somehow as I tried a titanium bucket run and it went green real quick the second time I tried it it just kept on getting red and even more so it just kept going so I held it for two seconds and shut it off, and this is only on the lowest setting.

Also I am not sure if it's because the way the airflow is or if the buckets are to shallow but no matter the size of the dab it just splashes up around the sides of the bucket and the metal ring where the airflow holes are, I can get a picture of the included carb cap while nice it just makes everything disappear that you put in the bucket it splashes it up and onto the bottom of the carb cap and the sides of the bucket and airflow ring.

The feeling of the unit is nice like others have said smaller than expected but in my opinion it's a good size again I love the hand feel also the two tone isn't as bad as I initially thought it looks quite nice, one thing I might try to do is see if you could get a black silicon/rubber style bottom instead of the white hard plastic I feel that will make it feel a tad more sturdy when sat on some surfaces, I mean the rest of the unit has this nice matte feeling and the bottom section is just a hard plastic.

I will try and get some pictures up for everyone and try to get some focusing on the issues I am seeing myself, and I will continue to monitor the temperatures but yes bucket sizes are small, I think XL buckets would be a nice next addition so we can use some proper inserts also that might help prevent some spill over with the bigger surface area.

Also another issue even though I figured out how to change the buckets the idea of opposite threads but using a plastic cap is a no no it can be an easy mistake to lock that top plastic cap up trying to align it and then twist it on hoping your going the right way, I think that will happen more than people crossthreading in the actual device.

I'm sure I have already done some slight damage to my plastic cap, maybe have some indicators/arrows pointing the turning direction and widen the threads for the top cap they don't need to be super thin.

A couple operational observations:

When you power the unit on/off (5 clicks), there's a haptic buzz and 2 of the 4 LEDs flash white. Was unsure at first whether this was displaying temp level, battery level, or what. But it appears to be neither, just 2 white lights to indicate power on and off. Since the power on/off behavior is identical, a 5 button click doesn't on its face tell you if you're powering on or off. If you've forgotten whether your unit is on or off, you can do a 3 button push. That will flash your battery level in red LEDs if your unit is on.

edit: I believe I may have been wrong about this, looks like the number of lights at power up and power down correlates to battery level?

Once the unit is on, single button presses cycle through the 4 preset temps. However, the 1st button press also starts heating the atomizer. So you can't change or check the temperature without activating the heating element. Once it is activated, you can hold down the button for 2 seconds to deactivate heating. The Carta will remember the last temp setting you used, even after you turn it off.

Heatup time at level 1 is about 8 seconds. I timed 45 seconds before the heater shut off. Flavor and effects have been consistently excellent.

I seem to have gotten a nice dab from level one although the middle burned it up completely there was still some pooled around the edges I think once we have app control and can tone it down even more.

I love the form factor btw I am doing cold start method I am not heating then dabbing I am loading material first.
