Discontinued Ghost MV1

I feel like that video may help you. Sorry if it seems like things are being said that you already know, its not intended to belittle just sharing experience and trying to help out. I definitely notice a difference when adjusting that calibration.

There's a few other good points (hand charts of vapour production) that I feel could help a lot of people just put things in perspective - my first 'big boy' vape was the Mighty turn on warm up go, not much to go wrong there.

This (MV1) is a little more intricate plus the on demand is very different to every other vape I own. There's a lot of things to consider clean crucible/lid. Is there anything lodged inbetween the lid and the top of the crucible, seems even a small amount of bud can cause issues. Is the lid fully on when you close the door? Not slipped slightly out of place?

One thing I did when I was finding my feet was put some silicone tube- about half inch around the stem so I was making a sort of stabilizer (Think it was whip from extreme q or similar replacement. The stem wouldn't go in any more but it could come out if I wanted it to. The stem sat flat on the heatsink. I found my sweet spot.

Really hope you get sorted, would be very interested to hear how you get on.

I’m not crazy about his videos (nothing personal) but I’ll have to check out this ‘calibration’ thing.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Was thinking about doing the same thing w/ the mouthpiece, glad to see it worked - what diameter tubing?

@ClearBlueLou Did your eyes change colour or did I Mandela myself and presume they were blue before?

I think the video was a clip from a live stream or a q and a. I enjoyed seeing a different setup. I used to watch a lot of different vape reviews for hours even before picking up the mighty then the youtube purge came, glad people are still doing their thing. Don't watch as many cause I've found my holy grail....for now, VAS is a horrible demon plus I want to build.

I have seen another image of the same cat with blue eyes, but this has been mine since I got here, unchanged.

Glad your VAS is in remission...I’m waiting for my man, as the song says, so I guess I suffer from WAS (weed acquisition syndrome, colloquially known as “out”) so I can see how my replacement unit works.

Pretext: I have the black chrome

Ugh listen to me for i know stupid.....I was cleaning unit upside down with iso and qtip and didnt.realize there was a little iso on thumb and it ate finish right off in the shape of my thumb.....now it works great just has blemish.

@ghostvapesofficial are.any of the colors tolerant to a little iso exposure ( I'm thinking the satin silver maybe) where something like this would not occur or is it possible with all of the finishes?

Sorry to hear about the finish on your unit. Someone on VL had the same issue a month ago. GV identified a fault with the top coating on a single production batch of Black Chrome MV1's earlier this year. This only affected a small number of devices and they will be replaced under full warranty cover.

I will PM you for your info for replacement.

I appreciate your help more than you know! I don't want to be frustrated with this thing but it's coming around.
As of now, it's hardly working as a "on demand" device. It takes a good 3 pulls to warm the thing up to a temp it can even vape the flower. But, when it gets there, the rips are glorious.
The lack of how to videos really does this thing some injustice. I mean heck, they don't even tell you to begin vaping on the second vibration.

@Ripstar did you find the videos on their site? They’ve got some good ones for usage. What’s the temperature where you are?

I have but, unless I missed it, they left the 2 vibrations part out. Maybe I am missing something, am I supposed to have a cloud on my first draw?

I run at the F1 factory setting as of now because of the time it takes to heat.

If I start at level 1 (1 amber) I get loads of flavour but quite light vapour, I get the odd occasion where I'm on level 5, I'll inhale and I'm sure I'm ge/ing something but nothing at all on the exhale- this is usually end of bowl though.

Something sounds strange with your experience in my opinion. Have you tried the calibration? Click both buttons 3 times? Put it on highest?

F1, as in Amber 1 for the temp? Turn that sucker up!

Could someone who owns a Vapexhale Cloud EVO and Mv1 tell me which they prefer?
I bought a evo a few weeks ago and I much prefer the mv1 for taste and it gives me denser clouds.

I don't prefer one over the other. They each fill a different niche for me.

The Evo is my "I've got time, want to savor the session and I'm staying in one place" vape. Then there's the glass/bubbler aspect.

The Ghost is my "Hurry the F up vape, I need/want good taste and clouds NOW and I'm gonna be moving around".

Both give me great taste and clouds. I prefer the Evo for taste but it's not by a wide margin.

Wish there was more detailed info on the calibration features etc. Not seeing anything on the site.. what other easter eggs are hiding in this gizmo??

Recently I've been using the mv1 with no mouthpiece(saw this suggested way back at the start of the thread but didn't try it at the time of reading). I find it way less finicky and more consistent. Resulting in heavier/thicker draws and greater effects(back to my theory of the heatsink components hoggin all the goodies via reclaim caches/pools). Also, seems to extract more evenly/thoroughly = minimal to no stirring needed. Guessing due to a tighter seal being created.

If I was @ghostvapesofficial I'd consider making an ergonomic(not too long though! ..all the goodies will get trapped again) mouthpiece that's one full piece and drop the sliding/extending component. It would clip onto the heatsink the exact same way the current top plastic piece that covers the rubber gasket does. Maybe with a cap/cover to keep debris out of mp while traveling. Like the Fury models.

I highly recommend trying the no mouthpiece technique, it shreds!!

Big ups to the OP who first shared.

No other easter eggs.

Someone mentioned shortly ago that the calibration increased or decreased the temp overall by 8 degrees. True @ghostvapesofficial?

Try this mp dry:

Sneakypete has the equivalent, too.

I think I would have liked to try this with my first MV1 - had I known about it.
Very much want to hear from ghostvapesofficial on this

No mouthpiece is what I'm suggesting. You can do the technique fine as is, just remove mouthpiece and draw from top of heatsink. But if Ghost wanted to offer a more ergonomic option.. might be a good idea.

The tolerance between mouthpieces and the rubber gasket is tiny, its not a very tight seal and seems prone to leaks. Eliminate the issue by removing the extra(not actually necessary) component/mouthpiece.

Less is more

Don't hold your breath. This is a setting that is used at the factory for final calibration. It was never meant to be done by the end user. If you find you need it to get the results you want, it should be as a set-it-and-forget-it option. Obviously you can access it, but don't expect any support for it. It's not a boost mode, easter egg, or feature.

Someone mentioned shortly ago that the calibration increased or decreased the temp overall by 8 degrees.

I believe it's 8%, which could impact the temps by as much as 40F. If the unit is working as intended, and the end user adjusts it upward, combustion could come into play on the highest temp setting...another reason to leave it alone.

I used to have to calibrate minivaps when I repaired them, and it was done similarly. Temp probe in the heat zone and adjust it from there to get it to the set temp. If the end user adjusted it after that, all bets were off, so it was a hidden control. If you must mess with the calibration on your MV1, I suggest making note of the setting it was on when you first accessed it, so you know where it should be to hit the temps accurately.

As you say. At the same time, every setting on my initial MV1 produced very little or no vapor, causing me to conclude that it was “running cold”, which, I concede, might have been an error. It was never used in ambient temps lower than 64F. Ghost ended up finding a replacement-worthy flaw that had nothing to do with my experienced issue, so that is tied off.

I still have been unable to test my replacement unit (the joys of not living in a free-state), so I’m carrying on, expecting that my ship will come in before I get too much older....

Sorry, I guess it would be the custom F1 setting on the app, I believe its around 415 degrees...

Okay, the introduction of “F1” as a term of TEMPERATURE is muddying the waters:
either let’s agree to REPLACE Ghost’s references to lights and numbers, or let us NOT USE ‘F#’ when referring to the MV1’s settings

I would prefer that we drop it (F#) please! It’s much more fun when we’re working with common, commonly- understood terms.
