Ditanium vaporizer

Ok, the snow storm got me! Sitting here at my home desk on a snow day from work, I've been watching this one and just don't seem to find that much out there about it, but everything I did find was very positive.

So I ordered. Unfortunately, it seems the Ti hand piece isn't very readily available so that will have to wait.

Looking forward to seeing if this is the one to just come home, turn on and let sit all night. The Evo is great for that, except having to either rig it somehow or make my way back in every so often to power cycle it.

Off to look over a J-hook and that 90 deg adapter.....

Can’t wait to hear your findings. I keep searching for unboxing videos or additional reviews, but I really only see sneaky Pete, puff it up, and one other on YouTube. I’m saving up for this at the moment (had unexpected car issues) and plan to purchase as soon as possible.

Ok, this is the 10 second run down on my first use of my Bamboo Ditanium that just landed. After a 30 min burnoff at full temp, turned it off and gave it 10 minutes to cool down. Wasn't sure how long it would take to cool down and I didn't want my first hit to be scorched or combusted, but it was fully cooled.

I know it was cooled because it took a while to get saturated again and get vapor. 5-10 minutes like everyone says is a good starting point. So, first few hits it was still warming up and they were nice, but there was still a undertone of something, not quite the oil I smelled during burnoff, but who knows.

I gave her another shot at full for 20 mins and then turned it down to 12 and tried the whip again. Got a nice cloud and maybe an undertone? So, lets go for it, a nice sized dab and some fresh herb and we had a double dipper.

Wow. I wanted to get on here sooner for this, I'm rushing to get to the Carta YouTube stream, but I couldn't form sentences for a while.

In full disclosure, I'm new to dabs, sorta. I've done the bucket/torch thing, too much guessing for a beginner with no one around to show me what it should be like. My Evo does alright, but it's never wowed me. I could go on, but I've never been impressed.

This was something different. I need to do a dab without stacking it so I understand better. But I'll be doing it again later.

I'll also be playing with the herb side of things. I watched the three videos I could find, didn't take that much from any of them other than SneakyPete mentioning and showing how he liked to pack the bowls. He gave it a good tamp, not a true pack, but I haven't heard that from others. I think that's where I'll start. Then on to temps.

It's early, but I've got a huge smile on my face :smug:

Yay, new owner chiming in!
You are right about the dab nail being something different when compared to other methods that use the hot air of the unit to heat the dab.
As for flower, I don't pack or tamp it at all, just add a scoop, sometimes two, and start drawing. I do have the Titanium Hand piece that has a more compact/narrower area for the flower than the glass one does. My temp that works well for flower and dabs is right around 1:00-1:30 range.

As for reviews, I saw @ohmygodimsohigh has a Ditanium in his clutches now, so another one could be coming along soon. He put a session with it in his IG story, but I missed that before it went away. He also had a pic using a @DDave wand with the Ditanium saying it was working wonders.
Enjoy your weekend everyone. :peace:

How was he using a @DDave want with the ditanium? That sounds like it could be awesome but I can’t picture the logistics.

Idk, was another pic on the disappearing story on IG. Hopefully @ohmygodimsohigh will give us the details.
My guess is a combo of the ddave wand into the ddave eq mod piece onto the Ditanium. Purely a guess cause I have none of those pieces.....yet.

I was using the 14/18 DDave Mod, with the 14mm end on the Ditanium nipple

I used the 18mm whip adapter with a basket screen as the bowl and it functioned very well.
It's more efficient with the convection heat, but the difference isn't as drastic as it is on the Arizer EQ

Thanks for the response. Hope your able to move your Ditanium sideways, looks like a prospective buyer already here in @Manity . Sounds like you were looking for a Dab rig in a sweet wood enclosure.
Build quality aside, your review kinda omitted 2/3rds the functionality of this unit, the two most important to me and I'm guessing most that are looking at this unit. The flower use, and the stacked hit which is the Dab nail hit heating your flower load.

Epic E-nano users in 220v areas use a step down converter pretty successfully. Some are said to be noisier than others.

There is now a couple alternatives to the whip. There is a bubbler adaptor that I wouldn't use, mainly cause I don't have a bottom loading bubbler, but that would be putting too much weight on the heater core for my liking.
The other is looking like a j hook for the Ditanium. Just might be my first purchase of 2019.

Where in the world do I get this??

You got the glass mouthpiece for the ditanium from PIU??
Sorry, thought you meant the whole unit!

I think the DDave stuff is only (easily) available from his site. I don't have the full mod, I upgraded to an Evo first, but i'm guessing I could make most of it from odds and ends I have, just haven't tried yet......

Who Is Nate?
Any word on a quartz attachment that a qtip can fit into?

My first and only hybrid nail couldn't fit a qtip in the trough either. Haven't used it since the say I got it.

I don’t have one, but have been obsessing since I saw the reviews.

Since the heat source is a column in the middle, of the diameter is increased, you run the risk of a fairly drastic temperature gradient meaning the inside would have to be too hot for the outside to be hot enough, if that makes sense.

My whipless hand piece is on route from sneakypetes. Tried other bent glass stems I had lying around and got surprisingly good results just butting the glass up to the Ditanium nipple like @ohmygodimsohigh mentioned just using the hot air stream.
OG Solo bent stem: Nice little microdoser here, can load just a little, or fill the whole bowl.
Tubo OG Bent stem: can do bigger loads using the original screen in there, or micro dose with an added screen.
Long Oregon Glass blowers bent stem: This works nicely and has longer path to cool it a bit more.
Titanium Vapcap: Not too good with the Ditanium. May have to revisit this again with a looser load.

Not sure I understand, where do you put the flower if you are only using a j-hook or similar? I thought the flower had to go in either the glass or titanium hand piece ?

It goes in the same place on the the whippless piece as the stock piece.

You can use any fitting that can handle the heat and has a lip for a screen as I see it.

Not using a j hook with those. Just using the stems as they are, putting the flower in the stem and putting it up to the Ditanium nipple and drawing the hot air. Kinda like using a log, it's just sideways and no insertion happens. :ugh:

I guess I’m having trouble seeing how a screen would stay in place in a set up like that, but awesome to know that there are options that are easier to clean than the whip.
