Dr Dabber Switch (Induction Vaporizer)

Completely agree nice work @ohmygodimsohigh on that review bro! I have a Puffco Peak on its way and this one still has my interest so i've been keeping my eye on it. It will never see herb though :brow:

So I wasn't too crazy about the Peak... I felt it was kind of a "toy" and a very "light" dabbing experience, and I constantly had anxiety about the atty breaking, and didn't like the splashback. Battery life was pretty bad too. So much negativity around the company, customer service, and durability of the device leaves much to be desired, and like the Grasshopper vaporizer, I quickly knew that it would cause me more grief than it was even worth.

So on to the Switch, with zero intentions of using flower in it i'm curious how well this device could work for a dabhead? Has anyone replaced their quartz banger and torch or e-nail with it?

The only knock I ever really see against the Switch is that of its size/form (so what it's 13" fully assembled, most bongs are that), and maybe lack of a digital screen/bluetooth, etc. none of which concern me. From what I have read and watched on Youtube (and it's been excessive!) the device is more of a "big boy" toy and heavier hitter for dabbing than the Peak with a superior battery life and water tool. Way more temperature bandwidth and waaaaay faster! No atties to break.

Stellar customer service and going above and beyond seems to be the motif i've been observing in this thread, and I really REALLY love supporting companies that actually CARE about their customers. There are still echoes of wrong doings in the past, but the past is the past and the present is all that matters and it looks like nothing but good doings and very happy customers!

I'm just curious how well of a dab experience this device can provide... i'm all about that drop tech and pretty much only exclusively do dish insert drops for that temperature bell curve preserving all those lower temp delicate terpenoids and cannabinoids, and that takes me about a minute with my torch. This device seems like it can provide a similar experience in much less than 1/2 of that time.

Should I buy a Switch!? How is the airflow?

Man that is a sweet looking cap, at that asking price though? Hard to justify the cost for me. Looking forward to reviews from folks that choose to upgrade to the new cap.

That will be a full cup to be sure! I think if a proper application of heat setting is used, the Switch will power through no question. I don't know if one would be able to annihilate that large of a serving in one fell swoop however......

Haha! I know I wouldn't! I think my record is like 0.04-0.05g-ish in one gulp, and that wasn't easy! :D

I was just curious as to the safe limit, as to not overload and cause a mess. My typical sized dabs are in the range of about 0.03-0.06.

There is a video on this thread of a guy taking a giant sized glob and the switch powered through it. The glob was like 2 in long!

@Blast_Union has a bunch of crazy Switch videos.

What would be a comfortable/safe maximum dab size for the quartz cup? .1g?

We do not recommend adding more than 1/2 a gram at a time. The Switch will definitely handle any size under 0.5g without any problems, but you may need to run it through a couple back to back cycles to clear everything. This will not harm the unit. The cooling cycle will kick in if the unit becomes too hot, but this will only initiate after about 5 or 6 high heat cycles.

Make sure to keep your heating/induction chamber clean. Give it a good cleaning before using the self cleaning cycle for best results.

Happy Dabbing!

That's a pretty impressive amount... I don't think I have anything to worry about with my <.1g "globs"!

I'm guessing that ISO swabs/towelettes work great for this purpose?

I'm looking forward to my Switch! I just hope that quartz dish insert will provide a good enough flavour for my tastes! But there is only one way to find out! Hoping that the Sapphire insert won't be much longer.

Look at this one!? WOW!

I really considering a switch but it seems a lot of money for a oil rig, since the herb chamber is so random not acting like a vaporizer but more like a
bong.
I’m really interested in this thing but I’m scared I’ll be disapointed, but it’s probably better then my herbalizer which just sits on the shelf.
Sticks my man chime in I meet your perspective.
Cheers, medicalmark

To be honest with you, I think customers do not understand or have not used flower mode enough. The Switch works great for flower, in my opinion, but takes a little time to get used to or to figure out how to use it correctly.

If you are looking for a more traditional vapor experience with flower, we recommend starting with low heat, in advance mode, and working your way up to find the sweet spot for you. Make sure to stir your cup a bit after each heating cycle to get best results.

Once you get to the higher heat settings, you will get more of a bong like effect and smokey flavors. The flower will not combust, but may turn darker than most are used to.

Flower mode is not for everybody, but we definitely have a good amount of customers who only use the Switch with flower and seem to love it. I think you just need to really dial it in for best results.

Hopefully this helped. I look forward to hearing other FC user opinions as well.

Just to add on, perhaps try the flower mode with the quartz dish?

Yes! Some of our customers, and employees, prefer to use flower with the Quartz and Smooth Ceramic cups. I have not tried this myself, I tend to stick to concentrates, but it seems to work fine with these inserts.

So I checked to dr.dabber site and the ball perc and awesome carb cap are gone will they ever be available again? And does the bubble carb cap help the milking at all or is it the same effect as the regular carb cap and is the black perc the same internally as the clear perc?
