It looks interesting but...

“The Prrl contains everything you need with it’s integrated battery (7 to 15 full sessions), custom designed and fitted hardwood pipe, and elegant grooming tool.
What does that mean??

Looking at the pictures of the other products on the Prrl website, I'm guessing that "Grooming Tool = Dab/stir tool". It is curious that an English speaking website would call a stir tool a "grooming tool".

Based on the fact that the website is still being built; see https://theprrl.com/blog/ and a domain registration date of June 2018, I wonder if Prrl has actually produced/sold any product.

Tough crowd here

Found the grooming tool in this picture of their first gen product, the Ember

Clever, if you enjoy two handed vaping. Like the Lotus or OG pipe smoking. Looks like he customized mod firmware for cruise -- Edit, no, it's on demand. Watched video in the Ember thread.

The new Prrl is the same two handed concept, but, wow!

Thinking out of the box (mod)

I think it is really cool looking too. My VAS perked up a bit.
But the thought of having to figure out that technique.... I can imagine you have to keep pretty still while heating to keep an even burn. I am thinking it needs far more patience and focus (and possibly coordination?) than I am equipped to handle.

Volute of Vapor
This is what the Vaporgenie might to be, the Prrl brings a Vaporgenie style for sure! Interesting but the heating tek doesn't look innovative and a somewhat crude coil based tek, no complains here but the ufo design lead me to think there was a whole new heating tek hidden in this spherical thing.

Where I'm surprised it's the battery capacity which claims a doizen of sessions in a such tiny design... although I tested a while ago the Evolve-D by Yocan which was a cheap coil based herb atty and it was working surprisingly well (not used like designed for) and the battery offered a lot of hits despite its tiny size.... but "sessions" are not easy to quantify in a "on-demand" vape.

Is there any sort of temperature control or is it unregulated (Ember seems regulated if I judge by the pics)?

So what happened to the Prrl itself? The website and IG seems to have deleted all mentions of it in the last month.

It's still in the docket, in the plans, but we had to focus on the Ember. We gave it a go to start with the Prrl, but it amounted to a bigger lift than we could handle.
At the moment we are focusing on perfecting the Ember and introducing it to the market. We do have a couple of working prototypes of the Prrl that we sesh with when in need of a bit of inspiration.

Well, isn't that special...

I'm a sucker for innovative High design concepts

Edit: I'm a sucker

I'll cut them slack, idea guys can get distracted from the CS/biz side

I still like the idea

Here's a good rationalization: my prepayment was on an idea, not a product

Therefore, I got my money's worth

Yeah, that's the ticket! I feel better now

Yup, I am in the same boat. This is a really interesting idea (and one I have thought about before, so I really hope they can bring it to market. I would even consider investing in them, since I don’t think I have the resources to bring something like the prrl to market.

Any new updates on the prrl?
We're currently shipping the Ember... check it out at PrrlLabs.com. There's also an FC thread on the Ember where we'll try to be more active than we've been so far... We still hope to bring the Prrl to market next year, but need to generate enough revenue for the steeper manufacturing costs of the Prrl.
