StemPod by MPL

Summer

Long Island, NY
Rec'd. an email from puffitup about an open box sale. Well, they have 21 NEW Stempods for sale @ $65 each. Don't know if this is version 1 or 2 or if it includes the wood box storage case & accompanying accessories. You would have to ask. And they also have 10 extra coil packs, 10 extra stems & 10 extra o-rings.

What is the difference between version 1 and version 2? PIU is unsure which version their sale is for.

I could use some of the o-rings. Didn't see any of this on their website. Do you know how we can order?

As Azsfcsh reported, PIU doesn't know the version. I was informed they "purchased a sample order quite a few months ago" and decided not to stock them.

I was also informed they "come with the wooden box" (StashPod) So it sounds like they could be the full base kits.

Open-box orders are to be submitted via email, but you could surely call them as summer suggested.

It's easy enough for puffitup to figure it out which version based on as to whether or not they have the air hole markers. Regardless, this is an inexpensive way to check the SP out.

That's great news, thanks!

I have a Pico 75w mod it does have TC mode, and I believe it can accept one of the AF firmwares. If I get the SP I hope I can get good results using that mod until I can upgrade, also hoping for good performance in wattage mode for quick n simple before I get into trying TCR.

I'll admit I've been on the fence with the SP because the technical/firmware/coil building discussion in this thread is sort of overwhelming for me, even though I could immerse myself in all of that (when I get the time) I'd prefer plain/simple/straightforward if possible, at least for a while.

Oldest boy alive
Wondering if the stempod would fit this box mod that takes 22,5 mm atomizer

Trying to figure out what is my next portable convention machine

You'll need a 510 heatsink / extender on your Pico though as the MPL diameter is too large to fit next to the battery cap.
Dang, thanks for reminding me!! Yep I noticed that too and in anticipation of getting one of these or a Splinter I already have a few sinks in the cart for an upcoming order from fasttech, but now I'm realizing I need one a lot sooner! I looked at amazon before but I think they were sketchey or overpriced, gotta go check around now!

Picked up one of the open box one's from puffitup. Thank you all who mentioned it. I was planning on getting the new revision due to the lower cost and really just wanting to try this out, but to get the 1.1 for about the same price is awesome.

Not really the right place, so i apologise.

However is the modpod still going to happen? Still like the idea of an atty with intergrated stem and cooling and excited to see what comes next!

Yes, we are working towards the ModPod design through some yet to be revealed StemPod accessories. I would expect for us to begin talking about ModPod again near the end of this year.

Either I'm confused or maybe I've missed something?... I'm curious what's this "new revision"? And what lower price?

The "new revision" for about the same price as the 1.1... but i thought the 1.1 is the newest revision?

I went ahead and snagged a Stempod from Puffit tonight, was holding off for a Splinter v2 but couldn't resist the PIU deal and I'm without a vape ATM.

Yeah checked there too, closest one's on the opposite coast and arrives within 15 days...

..in about 2 days I'll be holding a vape I can't use! Checked a few local vape shops, no luck yet.

EDIT: Oops, sorry for the back to back posts, tried to combine after the fact but couldn't see how to delete a post.

I could have sworn I saw some info about a new StemPod being made that was cheaper pre-order price of 59.99 and the retail being 79.99. Could be wrong though? Can't seem to find it now.

Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit! Thanks @Hippie, I didn't know about this either... maybe I should have waited, The SI + Sinuous P80 mod bundle seems a steal for $85 pre-order. But I also agree @buddingglasshead getting the 1.1 for only slightly more is awesome.

The P80 is a great looking fit for a SP, although the mods I've been considering are 2x cells, so now I'm wondering if 2 cells are really necessary.

Edit:
I probably don't need a dual cell mod but for around the same price as the P80 I came across the Lost Vape Modefined Lyra that was mentioned in an earlier post last fall. I like the display and it looks compact and comfortable to hold, the oval shape reminds me somewhat of the Solo 2.

My dilemma right now is getting a heat sink riser for my Pico in time for the Stempod delivery. I'd need to spend an extra $6-$11 on one for that to happen, so maybe I'll just bite the bullet and put that towards a new mod instead.

The Modefined Lyra is very appealing to me, anyone know if it can accept any of the autofire /cruise firmwares? Also how long is the default firing timeout?

@LambsBreath I use the Lyra for a couple of my 510 vapes. The screen is nice and big, and setting up tcr is a breeze, and is very responsive. It doesn't have the cruise control, but I haven't updated the firmware (not sure if the update is out yet). Great mod though

Thanks, good to hear! By the way what's the firing duration/timeout on the Lyra?

I'm also looking at the Modefined Draco, the Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 Dual and the Geek Vape Aegis 100w, kind of a tough decision they all look pretty good!
