All who wander are not lost...
Does anyone know if there are any flat glass/stem caps that fit on the tube when it's inserted into the unit, or even a smell proof cover type of thing (like HealthyRips provides on the Fury & Fierce)? I'm considering an ArGo and would like to cover the top of the tube when it's inserted and not in use unless the supplied caps fit when the top of the unit is not depressed and level with the tube. Not necessarily a deal-breaker but portability and keeping unwanted material (e.g. dust, dirt, etc.) out of the tube when not in use is fairly important.

You can put a cap on the stem with the top down (the stem caps it comes with will work) or get I believe a 1”x2” cap to cover the top of the unit. I just stick a foam earplug in the stem when I’m on the go. Cheap and easily replaceable :)

So the supplied caps will fit on the draw end of the tube with the tube inserted into the unit with the top of the unit level with the tube (and unit top not pressed down)?

Nah, they fit on with the top down. You would need some very thin caps to put on the stem with the top up

Thank you for confirming! Thin flat caps which I haven’t found yet or your suggested foam ear plugs to prevent stuff from getting in there and some protection. Good stuff! :peace:

I always thought the pop up top was totally useless too.....until I started using the bubble stems...with it up...i can hang on to the whole thing with my fingers on the pop up top only. There are times when this works very well.....I won't say when....but it involves some multi tasking lol

hi guys, I'm really interested to know what is the range for the auto shut-off timer that you have. Additionally, what's the average time that you can vape a bowl around 190-200C?

EDIT:
Looking around for the manual I finally found it here and I got some of my answers. So the auto shut-off timer can be from 5' to 10'!! It's great that you have the flexibility to have it that way, with 1-minute increment in between.. 10' its too damn long when you're on your own... A 5' session I think is just about the sweet spot.. Manual also says that a full charge lasts 1.5hrs which is pretty impressive. I remember a friend of mine that owned the Arizer and the battery just wouldn't die... :p

So another question now would be if any type of 18650 does the job. For example, if I get one of 3500mah will it work fine?

Does the draw and the way of vaping and roasting the herb looks like the one of Arizer?

Cheers and many thanks!! :leaf:

No. Not as you expect. For openers, there are no real/honest 3500s out there. Once again, advertising is ahead of state of the art......

There's a fellow with a screen name 'batterymooch' or some such who covers this in great detail, testing to confirm what really happens. For instance there are only four makers of high end cells in the whole world, everything has to come from them (re wraps and such). If it's not from Sony, Panasonic, LG or Samsung it's a re wrap. And none of those four sell to this market, yes 100% of what's available to everyone (including Arizer in theory) but the guys building battery packs for cars comes from 'the gray market'. You can get counterfeits from the most reliable sellers if they get them from some distributor that probably doesn't know.

Capacity is a trade off against power (current) potential. If you want more current, you have to give up run time. Makes sense not to go for more current than necessary?

The cell (not really a battery since there's only one) used by Arizer is the absolute best available today (go figure). Stick with it, none can beat it. Panasonic NCR18650B like here (if not from Arizer/dealer):
https://www.imrbatteries.com/panasonic-ncr18650b-18650-3350mah-flat-top-battery/

Batterymooch can point you to other top choices.

The Argo has the ability to to run for 5 to 15 mins....not 5 to 10. I leave mine at 10 as I do not continuously draw and stir at least 1 time. I also pack it almost full and am partial to indica's.

You would be best off to stick with the stock batteries on the Arizers. What they use now is awesome!
I get them from imr batteries online and usually no more than $6 each.

Time to consume a load......totally depends on flower quality, moisture level, load size, and your draw. With a normal filled bowl up to about 80% full stem.....you are looking at about 5-9 good draws.

The Argo stem/bowl shape and size is not like the Air or Solo. The stems are narrower and thus the bowl is slightly taller. So this different shaped bowl and slightly less powerful heater.....it is not the same as the Air or solo...though similar. I refer to my Argo as my "sipping box" ...I am a med user.

so from what I understand ArGo is a hybrid type one, right? Having said that, if you let the session without drawing, will the herb be roasted a lot or just on the bottom that it's the only contact with the oven base? Btw, what's the chamber's capacity with a loose pack?

Load size is pretty much same as the Air and Solo stems/bowls. Argo is just a narrow and taller shape bowl.
The argo is the same exact heating tech as the Air and Solo's.....so yes it is some form of hybrid.

If you leave the vape on and do not draw.....slowly the conduction heat will penetrate from bottom up through the load....it will be heated some what and will cause minor "offing" of the flower....but it depends on how long you are talking between draws. If you are talking a couple mins...not much of an issue even though you might be able to tell by the taste after the initial terps have been vaped out already.

hey everyone! so I'm back in the market for another vaporizer, mostly because my buddy wanted to get one, and I figured I'd sell him my original run Arizer Air (which was frankly excellent -- I didn't care about the somewhat resistant draw since I didn't have a ton of experiences with vapes).

gonna take the funds from that and get an upgrade. He won't care about stuff like incremental temperature adjustment and a wider temperature range, which is mostly what I'm looking for in an upgrade, with the same reliability, relative simplicity, robustness, and ease of use / maintenance.

I'm looking at an Air II or an ArGo (ordered from 420EDC, which others have helpfully mentioned, and who were very kind to answer some questions I had using the online chat).

Not sure if I'm allowed to ask for clarification / comparison questions in this thread, but having skimmed some (but not all!) of the thread, the main things I'm wondering are the following:

  • How easy is it to clean the chamber for the ArGo? Given that it's sunk deep into the unit, I don't want it to get too gummed up (although I am pretty good about cleaning it and I'm an intermittent user, generally).
  • Anyone have subjective experience on differences b/w Air 2 and ArGo functionality, far as ease of draw, taste, and more convection - ish type quality? My general priority is lower temperature for the milder effects and frankly... I really like the taste at lower temperatures.
  • Regarding the portability, what size case should I get for an ArGo? There are two sizes available as a bundle from EDC, and I'm thinking the medium one would be good, but if a small one lets me fit the unit and a small grinder that might be enough. I am probably going to order it with the spare battery option and WPA conversion stem, as I like using it like that periodically.
Thanks everyone! :)

I got the medium one, it makes for a very nice kit. Holds the argo, 2 batteries, 2 extra stems and a container to store herb in :) it’s almost big enough to hold a mighty.

I just pulled the trigger on the ArGo, in spite of asking for advice. happy with the reliability of my Air but the portability is a bonus. looking forward to it arriving!
Compared to the air 1.5 it puts out less dense clouds (can put out big clouds though) and has more airflow but still hits great imo I use it often. Love the extra features of unit too.

Cleaning the oven idk about. I’ve never had to clean it in my air that I’ve had for 3 years or my Argo that I’ve had for about a month. Still shiny!

Thanks everyone! :)

This vape has resistance like the solo. The most resistant vape I own.

The chamber does not seem to need cleaning. I use a qtip to get rid of the occasional flake no iso. I don't know the o ring is made of.

The case that came with it works very well. Its portability is overall a very fine feature and gives it an unique place in my collection.

It is easy to clean carries no smell and therefore is possible for travel without worry

Thanks for the info. I pulled the trigger and ordered one from 420 EDC before waiting for additional feedback from you folks, as I figured if there are any glaring problems to worry about, I could send it back unused if needed. They had an excellent added value bundle and were extremely responsive in the online chat to questions I had -- even on a Sunday afternoon (thanks, Mark!)

While I was very comfortable with the Air and found it to be exceedingly easy to use, maintain, and frankly quite durable (aside from needing to be careful with the glass stems, esp. in transport), I figured the ArGo was, erm... the way to go, for my needs.

I'm not too concerned about the draw resistance, as I'm used to whatever the original Air had. (I got one of the first ones as soon as it was released, as it was essentially a miniaturized Solo.) Anything that's marginally better is an improvement to me, and as long as the vapor quality is equal or better than the Air, it's an upgrade to me. /shrug

I just hope there's no weirdness with firmware glitches or any silliness. I spend enough time troubleshooting tech and when I want to unwind, simple stuff is nice. :) may still pick up a Lotus or Dynavap M for a low tech variant that I can be even more flippant with. the Dynavap M in particular seems like a great pocket and go option. hmm...

I own 2 original solos. I can’t really imagine a better handheld. Been ripping huge clouds from them for 5+ years.

Im sure the air, air2 and solo 2 were great I’ve just been satisfied with my OG solo.

Now I want a new vape just because it’s been so long I should upgrade.

My question is would you guys reccomend the Argo or upgrading to the solo 2 or air 2.

If the Argo has the same rips as the solo its a no brainer. Same Big thick tasty clouds even on low temps (I vape at 3/4) and pretty long sessions but its small and discreet.

How does it compare to an original solo?

I find it very similar to the solo in resistance quality of vapor and maybe a bit faster then my 5-8? yr old solo
Argo is nicely portable. In many situations like when u cannot justify the weight of an MV1 the argo works well though it is slow so doesn't work well in for example a movie theater where mv1 firefly 2 or heaven forbid the grasshopper work better (faster).
So it acts very soloish for me with the added wonderful portability feature.
I would try to find a convection vape to try. They are a special trip.

I really like my Argo it's one sweet vape I'm really surprised this thread is so small did it not sell very well lf so I can't understand why
It's small simple to use has great flavor uses 18650 batteries easily cleaned
Very discreet to walk around the city looks like a e cig box mod maybe it's a little expensive I don't know
I might be wrong and it may have sold well but this thread is very quiet compared to other threads it's a shame because it's an amazing vape
