Discontinued Healthy Rips FIERCE

I've used my Fierce twice thus far and I do agree that there's a plastic smell. I've done 2 full batteries of burn offs before I used it. There is still a very faint smell but it's going away. Battery after 2 full sessions only went down one level. More coming after I really use this vape. I definitely need an external charger for their battery.

Hey all, been a lurker for awhile and decided to finally make an account!

Anyway, getting used to my new device, and I had a couple questions. First, how quickly are your batteries discharging? Mine will drop a bar after a single session, and then after another one or two it'll be down to two bars. Is that similar to what you all have found? I fully charged for a few hours once I received it.

Also, the plastic taste is STRONG. It's definitely coming from the unit and not the mps. This isn't my first device so I understand there's some "breaking in" to be expected... but it's striking how strong it is. If I sniff around the unit near the heater, I can easily tell this is the source. I've done burn-offs and some AVB "curing" but I'm concerned this isn't dissipating as quickly as it has on other devices I've owned.

I did a lot of burning off too but found using it to contribute to a quicker dissipation of any odor. Mine is fine now and I love the improved draw resistance with the dome screens in the bent stem.

Are you saying you get a taste using the glass stem as well?

Yes. While the native mouthpiece has it's own plastic taste, the unit itself is definitely producing an off flavor. I have been almost exclusively using the straight glass mp. I have been using the dosing caps but I don't see how that could be the issue -- and I soaked them in ISO and brushed them a bit before using them.

Wow, 2 FULL battery burnoffs & still a smell? Not acceptable in any way, shape or form.

Puffitup said when asked in a stream a day or 2 ago to wash the silicone in dish soap.

And from what I heard, HR is in the process of switching over to smell-proof silicone. If you are a person highly sensitive to silicone, & the smell just won't go away, I'd contact CS & try to make an exchange.

@Vape Dr. I'll check and report back. I was basically thinking of giving it the weekend with some moderate use and if that wasn't enough, whining to HR. I haven't wanted to share the device with anyone yet because of how overpowering the plastic taste is. I'm surprised with the QC issues they already have had that it's this bad... and I guess my expectations were too high on the battery life as well.

Hi! To put your mind at ease, one of our main considerations is developing and manufacturing entirely healthy and safe devices. All of our devices have completely isolated air paths that are totally sealed off from the electronics. You could be picking up normal electronic smells from the device, but those smells are not in the air path and not entering your system. These are freshly produced units, and will have some factory smell similar to any new electronic device. This 'new car' smell will definitely dissipate over the next few days as your FIERCE is able to 'breathe' and 'season' with use. All of our devices are RoHS certified as well. The air path is made of stainless steel and glass, and the o-ring seals are made with food grade silicone. There is nothing in the air path that can cause any health issues whatsoever. Please read about our health and safety here: https://www.healthyrips.com/health.html. Occasionally, a unit will have excess residue and will need a few extra burn-offs to completely sterilize it.

If you have any other questions, we are happy to help! Please contact us directly: healthyrips@gmail.com

All the Best!

When you say your using the dosing caps, your using the Fury ones right? The Fierce ones don't fit in the straw like the Fury ones do.

@Smknbud No, the Fierce ones. The end of the glass mouthpiece sits on top of the top of the capsule so it extends a little farther out of the accessory adapter than usual. I've tried using it with the native mouthpiece as well so I sincerely doubt that's the cause.

@Vape Dr. Nothing visible. I did use this same method to cure with a full AVB capsule.

@HealthyRips.com I will give it a few days to season and report back!

Pack the end of the straw and try that. Leave crucible out. Push straw to base of bowl.

How new is your device and did you get it from puffitup or healthy rips?
I just received a brand new device from healthy rips that doesn't have any smell.
My first 2 devices still has some stank to them.

have owned the fury and 3 fury2s and they all have the silicone smell. the oven has a silicone gasket. to keep things airtight
healthy-rips-fury-2-portable-vaporizer-chamber-open-teardown-chamber-chamber-.jpg

when the units are heated it directly heats the gasket and the smell/taste is there. it doesnt go away no matter how many burn offs or uses...

thats really all there is to it? idk why after the 3 versions of basically the same vape and we are wondering why some smell and some dont. the silicone taste comes
from the silicone being heated.

(pic is from puffitups teardown)

Not to be confrontational, but after having this issue with 3 devices, why would you buy a fourth?
havent.. and wouldnt. the fury was 25 bucks and the f2 x3 was warranty replacements and have been gifted. im not saying people should or shouldnt just saying there is a silicone taste/smell because silicone is being heated. i still dont understand the f/f2/F stock mouthpeice with the silicone buffer that takes the brute of the heat is even used. but even using only a glass mp or wpa you can still smell it

:worms:not trying to start anything just seems i see A TON of people not only on FC talking about "mine smells" "mine had no smell" diff levels of sensitivity varies per person.i only have the original fury now and i take it with me knowing i could throw it away if i needed. i like the fury but it still stinks. :2c:
