Is anyone here a -heavy user.....all day/night long????? I'm using to medicate throughout the day.....would like to wait for extra battery but if needed to work for whole day of heavy use then I'll get it upfront....thanks

I 've heard the ghost packs a punch is that the consensus amongst everyone?

Take My Money Dammit!
Do You recommend battery as back up or to use while other is charging?
Edit: I will be using g all day long
If you want to go non-stop then a second battery is a good idea. While using one, the other is charging. The batteries do last a good long time though so it all depends if you want to spend another $60.00. I’ve been using just one battery with the fast charger, but I alternate between other vapes so some downtime is no problem.

Nothing will medicate you like a Ghost. It’s actually a really heavy hitter. Seriously, it’s a mofo. When you get it don’t trust the battery indicator. It’s pretty inaccurate (to your benefit). It goes a long time after flashing amber. You just need to know how work all the controls. I’d say you can definitely do at least a gram of weed in one charge.

Id say its in the same ranks as cloud evo
Personally i keep a collection of butane (sticky brick maxx and jr), conduction (haze v3 & da vinci iq) and convection (evo, milaana, ghost)

I switch between different types of heating, if i want a stronger hi i dont vape for 2-3 days and then it will be really strong again

Pulled the trigger ....trade in special so fast charger, crucible dispenser, extra battery and black chrome .....wanted stems but sold out just be careful ........thanks everyone for help....guess I'll start reading forum.....
I like the stealth, so sexy

How does the size of the crucible on the ghost compare to the size of the Haze V2 containers?
okay i pulled out calculator again

haze v3 cans: avg 0.15
mv1: avg 0.11

above figures for coarse/fine grind

very fine grind i can get .17 into crucible (kannastor fine plates x1 grind, then i grind again with s&b grinder)

hope this helps

Sorry for the long post…

I’ve recently become intrigued by the MV1. I was about to buy a Crafy but the MV1 caught my attention when I discovered it’s an on-demand style unit. I’m especially interested now with the addition of the “Stealth” version.

I began reading this thread from page 87 and also the thread on vapelife forum. In addition to the massive positive feedback the MV1 has been receiving for vapor production and flavor it’s is also reported to be very ergonomic, being comfortable to hold is an important attribute to me. I had thought the total opposite from looking at the photos!

Before pulling the trigger on this I have a few concerns I’d like to get some feedback on…

1. Long draws (15+ seconds) to get good vapor?
2. Loose/wobbly mouthpiece.
3. Crucible door latch failure

Long draws: Is this 100% true to get good vapor production?
Does anyone feel they need to take uncomfortably long draws with this?

I returned a Tera v3 mainly because of long hard draws needed to get the best vapor (I think it may also be an on-demand unit) The problem was mainly too restrictive airflow; it had my lungs working too hard to get the best results.

Loose/wobbly mouthpiece: Is there’s a fix for this?

My thoughts are that I wouldn’t be happy with a loose wobbly mouthpiece, and that it’s unacceptable on a $300 unit. The loose stem on the Solo 2 somewhat degraded the overall experience with that vape. But maybe on the MV1 it’s not as bad as I'm fearing?

I’ve read the upgraded (Makrolon® polycarbonate) mouthpiece isn’t fitted as tight as the glass ones were, so it slides easier to prevent the problem of heatsink separation when pulling it up. If I switch to a glass one I suppose I probably could just leave it fully extended since I’ll be using it as a “home portable”, if that would help correct the problem?

I read a statement from Ghost saying to overcome the stiff sliding issue the accessory glass mouthpieces are now made more seamless and are hand selected for tolerances, which I suppose would make them loose and wobbly like the plastic one too. Unfortunately you have to buy a $30/3 pack to try one.

I’ve also read the air flow is adjustable by the height of the mouthpiece, and one user reported thicker vapor production with it slightly retracted.

One last issue of concern is a Crucible door latch failure that was reported on a Stealth unit only a few months old. I’ve only read of this lone incident so I’m taking this with a grain of salt. But I’ve never had much faith in these “plastic click-n-latch thingy’s” because they tend to eventually wear out or break. EDIT: Is the latch plastic or metal? Also I've just read of several more reports of premature door latch failure, so now it's a major concern.

@LambsBreath
1. IME, you don't need a full 15 second draw in one pull BUT little sips don't work either. It's a convection device so the first few seconds at XX temp are needed to bring the bud up to vape temps. I will sometimes pull comfortably for 6-8 seconds and then do a small 1 second exhale and continue on with a pull to the timeout. Or just do a 8 second draw and stop there.

2. I now view the loose mouthpiece as a positive. It does NOT leak air, just allows movement of like 5 degrees in any direction. This allows the mp to conform to where your mouth is/ mouth does not have to be perfectly inline with unit, if that makes sense.

Thanks MinnBobber , sounds like you're getting good rips at under 10 seconds, that's acceptable for me.

Is the timeout at 10 seconds?

From the MV1 user guide:
"hold the Vape Button and inhale for at least 10 seconds - the longer the draw, the more intense the flavor. Release the Vape Button when done and repeat as desired"

Also good to get a different (positive) point of view on the loose mouthpiece issue.

Is the timeout at 10 seconds?

I'm away from home so can't check but think timeout is closer to 15 seconds. Can someone measure theirs??

Regarding time to get a decent hit: IMO, it also varies by temp. If you're at one yellow, it takes a longer time for a decent vapor than if you are at 2 reds which takes fewer seconds to get a good hit.

The latch is supposedly low rate of failure
Draws are recommended at 15 seconds
Level 5 u need 2 pairs of lungs if u packed alot
The mp is not wobbly but it is easy to move but also pretty stable, it wont fall out on its own, the bottom mouth piece can get gunked up and helps keep the mp in place as well

I was going to jump on mighty but this is better, cs is better, warranty is better

According to Ghost support via VL post, there was a small bad batch and the failures were identified after shipping. They are replacing any unit affected by the problem.

Incidentally, they seem to take care of any customer concerns (including this one) extremely quick. They've got an active presence on the VL forum (where I mainly hang) and I've yet to see a disappointed customer who's reached out to them.

Thanks for the helpful input! Are the 15 second draws recommended by users or does Ghost state that somewhere?

My friend with the Mighty was wondering why I don't just get one too, S&B tried and true, German made, bla bla bla.
I found myself trying to defend this Ghost vape that I've never used or even seen in person!

Thanks, this clears things up! I may have been overwhelmed with reading and missed that post from Ghost. I'll have to go back and find it, probably should sign up over there too.

I agree I've read many reports of Ghost's excellent CS, that along with their presence on the forums is helping to win me over.

The design is meant for 15 sec pulls, u are welcome to release the vape button at 10

I usually exhale fully before i pull, and when i do i draw slowly with a little suction throughout the 15secs, if u draw too fast u will run out of lung capacity by 13-15 secs

The draw speed is similar to milaana but u dont have to wait for the heat in ur mouth to draw harder, for ghost from first second the 15th second, same consistent draw speed is recommended

I usually do levels 1-2 or 1-3 and come back and finish up with 3-5 or 4-5

If i got nothing to do, i do 1-4 and 2x 5, the magic of ghost is u'll be done within 2 mins to 4 mins a full session

Avg 30 seconds per level, 5 seconds heat up, 15 seconds drawing and then 10 seconds to change heat levels

As a counterpoint, I personally use rather short draws, 5 secs, at the beginning of a new crucible. Otherwise I get too much—I just want a medium hit usually, with no coughing. I lengthen the draws as I use up the crucible. I just leave the vape on 392. Works great for me.

My point is that you can use this vape however you want according to your preferences, and be happy with the result.

Question: does.moving the mp change draw? Is there a general.sweet spot or is it a.personal preference? Thanks....
It's just personal preference. All it is doing is adding a little bit of obstruction to the air path.

The mouthpiece is not too wobbly, and if you keep it in a little, it's less wobbly.

Also, skip the glass mp until you've decided you don't like the original. I don't know how much better the taste will be with glass, but for me, I prefer not having to worry about breaking a mouthpiece.

I'm glad you got the extra battery, due to your usage. It gives you more peace of mind knowing that you have a battery ready to go at any time, even though the battery holds out pretty long.

I'm not medicating as much anymore, but when I first got my Ghost I was medicating for pain and going through about 8 crucibles a day. With the Square, when it worked, I would do about 4-6 pods for pain. (nearly twice as much product). Ghost battery does get me through 5 crucibles, though I tend to swap batteries before that (since a fresh battery is available).

I think that once you experience the Ghost, you will look back at the Square as an adventure in patience.

Look at the 15 seconds as "up to 15 seconds". You don't have to draw for that long.
Different things will factor in, naturally, to affect vapor production, like strain. Currently, I've got one strain that doesn't seem to produce much visible vapor, but the effects still hit. I think when we are using flower, vape production is not as consistent as liquid.

Unfortunately, we equate vaping with clouds, but not all vapor is thick. Some can be wispy but still be full of medicine. Then we have to ask ourselves... are we looking for clouds, or effects?

I love my Mighty for what it is; a rock solid shareable session workhorse that a monkey could use. It's main drawbacks, IMO, are that it's not terribly efficient, and the flavor isn't amazing. Flavor is good for conduction, but not great compared to other things available. It's consistently referred to as the best portable conduction vape on the market for good reason.

The MV-1 is a different experience. They're both excellent devices, but in different ways. I'd even go so far as to say they're complimentary devices, and folks should have both. The MV-1 shines in it's exceptional flavor, it's very efficient, and just feels great to hold. As a convection vape, it needs a consistent draw, and generally your first draw is to warm up your material. The grind, pack, and dryness of your product are all important factors here, much less so with the Mighty. It's shareable, but not as geared towards that as the Mighty, which can get passed with ease because of its session nature.

There are plenty of comparisons out there, but IMO it shouldn't be directly compared; they're different beasts that are both excellent for different reasons. If you're contemplating between the two the best thing to do is rank your priorities. For ease of use and an easily shared, session-able experience, it's all about the Mighty. For amazing flavor, efficient usage, and a well designed ergonomic product, the MV-1 all day.

With conduction vapes, the material sits in the oven and gets hot. This is not the case with the mighty, which is mainly convection, but has a metal ring to retain heat once heated by the air

I'd disagree with you on that to a point. Yes, it's both conduction/convection, but if you just let your product sit in the unit while on, it will vape itself without you :\. So in my experience, it DOES sit in the oven and get hot. Maybe at a slower rate than other pure conduction units, but to me that's splitting hairs. Try turning on your Mighty with no product in it and letting it warm up and sit for 5 minutes. You'll find the oven is extremely hot. That heat cooks your product, sans airflow. This is generally not considered a characteristic of a proper convection vaporizer, and is what makes the Mighty a session instead of on-demand unit. IMO it's also one of the causes of the flavor drop off. The other is the material the unit is constructed from, but that's a different discussion. I don't want to derail the thread further, so I'm sure we can discuss on the Mighty thread if you're interested.

If one were to compare this process directly between the Mighty and MV-1, I think you'd see this difference in short order.

I’ll just underscore the point: the mouthpiece is not loose, or in danger of falling out, it is more *mobile*, in that bumping it with your lip will move it, but that movement won’t *change* anything.

The mouthpiece, I read, affects hit-strength/air-flow dependent on how far it’s pushed in or pulled out. So far, I prefer about .5” showing, it seems to suit my style of draw - I don’t need to see clouds on the exhale, but I like to feel the vapor going in.

I believe I mentioned I’m currently on hiatus w/ MV1, it’s off for evaluation. I must say I’m glad they didn’t just send me a replacement, although several people seem to have racked up plenty in the way of crucibles and spare batteries & that would be cool, too; however, the recent failure of Haze to overcome their problems is still fresh. Ghost needs to see sufficient income to stay afloat, for the sake of we who just HAD a bath and can’t afford another one. I’m hoping they’re profitable enough to be around for me to do business with in the future.

In my case, given the way overall performance deteriorated at the end, I suspect the failure of one or more circuitry bits: I suspect the power manager most of all, but in the end it forgot it had been updated to 1.4.0, threw itself into an update to 1.4.0 following which the rear/vape button no longer worked. For all I know, it is still waiting for a two-button push that will never come.
